"I wonder what happened here." Drake said, mainly talking to Will, who he felt would be a good friend to have on any journey, but he didn't mind if Halt or Gilan put in there thoughts.

Halt listened to their conversation for a while. When he heard Drake ask a question he rolled his eyes discreetly. <i>Why did Ranger Apprentice's always have to ask questions</i> Halt thought. After the silence went on, Halt decided to speak. "Obviously they were attacked by a powerful something which we currently seem to know nothing about."

Drake nodded, not sure what to say to Halt. He looked around, trying to find tracks to show what attacked the village. He couldn't find any from a quick glance around. Could it have been an airborn attack? Drake thought, yet he didn't voice it, unsure.

Halt slowed his horse down to a walk, heading towards the shadows. He studied the ground; looking. He was searching for foot prints, animal prints. Something that could help them.

Will was about to answer Drake, but Halt answered before he could. He slowed Tug down behind Halt. The pony wasn't showing much sign of uneasement. At least not yet.

Something caught Halt's eye. He halted Abelard and got off his horse, bending down towards the object in the shadows. He took a gloved hand and dug it out of the mud. It was gold; jewelry perhaps. It was still too dirt-covered to see what it was.

Halt slid the object into his pocket; he would look at it in detail later. He then mounted his horse again. "We should split up. It will cover more ground."

Halt trotted over to Crowley. "We are still in the process of figuring things out. I did find an object." He stated as he pulled out the object from his pocket; the golden, dirt covered object. He showed it to Crowley quickly, then put it back inside his pocket.

Drake became stiff when Crowley came about. He had to be top-notch when he was about, and he always seemed to mess up every time he was. It irritated Drake so. Gilan rode up to the two leaders and said, "Nothing normal attack and ruin this place." He was being very vague and a little obvious, but they had no idea what they where dealing with.

Halt nodded, this place seemed different. "Yes, it was not normal. I do wonder what is scaring these people so, for these people aren't easily scared."
