yeah I'd love to have the same actors, too. But I doubt that Ian Holm will be playing Bilbo. I just really hope Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis and Hugo Weaving will be part of the Hobbit.

Ian Holm is pretty much the same age as my grandmother... not very athletic, I'd say 
Prosthetics and CG can go a looong way. _________________

o0o0o0o... It would be a shame if they didn't have hugo, ian (mckellan), and andy. I would be disappointed if ian holm wasn't in it, but i would hope for a reasonable explination for why. Ian mckellan was in his late sixties when he was in LOTR, and had a LOT of physical scenes. (he still will in the Hobbit), though I guess what I'm trying to say is that I want it to be similar to LOTR. (considering actors and all)

yeah, but Ian Holm is not in his sixties anymore, so I don't think we could actually expect him to be in the Hobbit. I really want the Hobbit to be similar to LotR, but I don't think there's a realistic chance that Ian Holm will be playing Bilbo

*Shrugs* If Ian Holm is up to doing it then great. If not, then that's fine too. I'd love to have him in there, but I don't think the movie will be ruined if he's not. 
About the two movies. (I know I've posted this before, so sorry  ) It doens't seem like they'll be dividing The Hobbit up. They probably make up a "bridge" movie using stuff from the RotK appendixes. Possibly stuff like this:

The White Council (including Saruman and Gandalf) attack The Necromancer’s stronghold at Dol Guldur. This is to prevent Sauron from searching the river for the Ring. Sauron abandons Dol Guldur and takes up residence in Mordor.
Gollum leaves the mountain, searching for the “thief” Baggins.
Sauron declared himself openly, starting to gather power to Mordor.
Aragorn searches the wilds for Gollum.
Aragorn’s engagement to Arwen.
Frodo’s birth.
Personally, though I'm not thrilled they're making up a movie now, I like it better then the idea of dividing The Hobbit up. 
Pd, ok, good. You scared me for a minute there.  I practically know the book off by hear.  (and that's what you get from staying up to all hours trying to adapt the book into a movie screen-play. I've got a profound respect for the Lotr writers...

I mean that flashback does kinda make it necessary for them to have the same Biblo.... although his age is a slight hindrance... but still I can't imagine a different guy! 
and there are always stunt doubles for some of the scenes too…
