Kuroda silently reached the spot where Zutao and Yashamaru stood with the "prisoners", hiding so as to hear their conversation. Hearing Zutao's choice and Yashamaru's responce, he smiled slightly and nodded, then stepped into veiw. "The cave isn't too much farther, why are you stopped?" He asked feining innosence.

"Thankyou Yasha-sama." Zutao wispered sheathing his katana.

He turned to Aiko and held her closely to him. "Beacuse I love you; but this is not the way i shall regain my houner to my clan." He kissed her softly then pushed her away. "I'm going to confess everything to Koga-sama and let the clan punish me justly; but i could never forgive myself if you got hurt." He saw the hard look in her eyes. "You'll have to kill me if you want to stop me." He added

He spun round as Kuroda revealed himself. He was unprepeared for that; he thought Kuroda would have stayed at the mansion. "Thier not going to the cave Kuroda and you'd..." he trailed off as he realised Kuroda had probebly heard everything.

Aiko grabbed Zutao's hand, hoping to draw his attention to her again. "I love you, too." she whispered, not caring if Yashamaru or Kuroda heard her. "I have already hurt you enough," she said softly, sorrow gleaming in her eyes. "Don't do this. Onegai![Please]." she pleaded again softly, forgetting her years of training of silence. "I don't want to see you hurt again."

Mariko glanced at Kuroda before stealing a glance at Yashamaru and nodded at his reply, not prying any further. Please be careful. she thought silently as a sense of worry filled her. If they find out you did nothing if we escape, the punishment... she broke her thoughts then, not wanting to dwell on the consequences.

Yashamaru turned to Kuroda when he walked up. He knew Kuroda was in love with Cora. That was obvious, but what supprised him was when Zutao and Aiko 'confessed' their love for each other. That was unexpected. So that's why Zutao-sama is letting them go free. Now I understand, he thought.
"Two Koga's in love with to Iako's, who love them back. Yet honor for each person's clan keeps them apart. All because of this rivalry," Yasha muttered to himself, looking at the ground. "Kuroda-sama. Why do you wish us to take them to the cave?"

"I don't wish for them to go to the cave, I was testing you both. Let them go home. Their friends and family are probably worried sick. I was foolish to 'kidnapp' Cora, though I wish... Nevermind." He turned to the Iako women. "Go quickly, and may all go well with your family. The same cannot be said for mine." Kuroda hung his head in shame and worry, then raised it resolutely. "Perhaps someday we shall meet once more under friendlier terms."

Cora slowly got up and looked at Kuroda. "Kuroda-koi?" She asked. He was sending her away. She would rather stay with him and faced what ever he faced, then leaving him behind and fearing for him. And she would never be able to play her song for him. She walke to him and touched his face. "Don't send me away, Kuroda-koi."

((Koi, it pretty much means loved one when used with a name.))

Aiko and Mariko turned their attention toward Kuroda as he addressed them. "Kuroda-sama..." Mariko breathed in a whisper, not knowing what to say. Both women had longed for their freedom, yet now when it came down to it, both were reluctant to leave.

"Cora-sama..." Aiko whispered as she watched their lord's daughter's reaction. Now she understood the worry and fear the woman felt. Just as Cora was loathed to leave Kuroda, so was she to leave Zutao. She was trained as a ninja, ready to accept death at any moment, so why should she be safe and let Zutao accept the danger? Aiko bit her lip then, it hardly seemed fitting, nor did it seem right. I can't leave him... I just can't. she thought desperately.

Mariko looked toward Kuroda then. "What will you do?" she asked.

"Oh, Cora-koi." Kuroda sighed heavally and put his arm around her waist. "If I was sure you would be safe in this land, I would never send you away. But times are not what they should be, and I can't risk losing you to death." He saw the determination in her eyes though, the want to stay with him at all costs, and suddenly laughed. "Cora-koi, you are a most loyal Iako, and you have me wrapped around your little finger!



Kuroda stopped laughing abrubtly, and turned to the women, sadness in his eyes. "If any of you wish to remain, the cave is not much farther. It is one I found with Cora years ago, when we were still young and were not yet involved in the conflict between our peoples." He smiled faintly, "We sort of fixed it up over the years, first a a play-house, then as a comfortable place to go when the weather was foul. Follow me if you wish to find it." He turned and began walking away, Cora's hand held in his.

Zutao pulled his hand out of hers as he stared at Kuroda. He hadn't wanted to; but it seemed he'd have to confess about Kuroda as well. He wouldn't let his freind continue to wallow in dis-houner; he'd save him. Yashamaru he wouldn't say anyhing about. He turned back to Aiko and looked at her harshly.

"You dis-houner yourself with your emotions; and since i am the cause, cause me more dis-houner. Either you leave and let me go and regain my houner; or i commit hara kiri." He drew his katana as he spoke and angled it over his heart. "It would have been better i'f you'd killed me earlier; and not forced me to have a life debt."

He said kneeling down and looking up at her with hate; the woman who he loved and who had destoyed him.

Aiko stepped back at Zutao’s words before her eyes took on the same hardness as when she had first met him. “You are right, Zutao-kun,” she replied softly. “Gomen ne [I’m sorry.] Emotions and love have no place in the lives of a ninja. We are agents of the shadow-born to die-and death should be the only one we should willingly embrace.” She then averted her gaze, her words directed at him though she could no longer bear to look in his eyes for fear that the feelings of love she had for him would be reflected in her gaze. “There is no need for your sword, though I must remain. I go where my lord’s daughter goes. I vowed to protect her to end and to that oath I still hold.” She then looked at Zutao once again. “I stay for her, and not for you.” she added, in the hopes that he would put away his kitana, though she knew that the words she uttered were a complete lie. She stayed for them both. She loved Zutao, more than she wanted to admit and that very idea of loving the enemy frightened her. She was always a shinobi first and now it felt as if her heart was being torn in twain. With that she wordlessly turned to follow Kuroda and Cora.

“I, too, remain.” Mariko replied. “Aiko-san is right, we can not leave our lord’s daughter. If Cora stays so shall we.” she added as she followed Aiko.

"It will never be like old times. Then, we did not know who we were, now we do. I cannot remain any longer, lead your friends there." Looking around, he gave Cora a quick kiss, then turned to leave. "If I return, Cora-koi, my father has been more merciful than can be expected under the circumstances." Then he spread his cloak and rose from the ground. Gaining speed, he took to the skies toward the castle, tears blowing away in the rushing wind.

Before Yashamaru could say anything, the other two Koga had run off. He sighed, and shook his head.
"Did they not realize?" he said outloud to himself. "Well, I just reasilzed it. The daughter of the leader of the Iako, and the son of the leader of the Koga are in love. Both are to be leaders of their clans one day. Did they not realize that this love could end the war between the two clans?" Yashamaru stood with his back to the Iako women, yet stayed alert just in case...
