Morwen listened to the situation carefully. "Then, if you are sure, I think it would be most appropriate to rest. Plus, I don't think it would be appropriate for any representative of the last free nation, vassal state or not, to be present in a meeting with a city that has a certain leaning towards independence itself." She gave a small bow and went to the hostler. "Where can I go to rest?" she asked. The man smiled and took her to a nicely furnished room inside the fortress. Morwen asked, "This room will stay quite warm, am I right?" The hostler assured her it would, and promised to have a servant bring up bath water. Morwen sat and looked out the diamond-pane windows and thought back to the drudgery that was water-carrying. After a while there was a knock, and five servants entered and poured ten large buckets into a metal tub over the fire. The obvious leader, a matronly woman, asked if she needed anything else. "I would enjoy a bit of wine and...well, tea, if there is any." The woman replied, "I'm sorry, we have not wine or tea, but I can offer mead or ale." Morwen opted for a little of both, and dismissed them all. She moved the tub off of the fire, pulled the curtain, and got in, letting the warmth flow through her. She sipped her cup of ale and sang quietly to herself, "Lyfte ábúfan hafela man geaforod seo herecombol, a gold-áséowan gierela..." (High o'er his head they hoist the standard, a gold-wove banner...).

" I think I will take a nap before Lord Andur arrives" Deawen said with a yawn. She was led to a spacious room nothing really caught her eye so she didn't spend time looking around. She slipped under the wool and fur covers and doze off faster than she expected.
Deawen stood under her banner on a field of battle, crows whiling overhead rejoicing at the feast. Something flashed or glittered catching her eye she moved from her ring of guards following this glitter. The closer to came the more she saw it was cloak that caught the light. SHe ran after it intrigued by this being. Further away from the battle deeper into the trees it grew dark but Deawen's only concern was for the being she chased, it soon crossed a bridge Deawen followed but as she reached the center the bridge broke away, she fell into deep icy water, pain shot through her limbs she swam upwards, she saw her quarry looking down at her it waved a hand over the water and the surface became ice. Deawen started to panic she was trapped she beat upon the ice to no avail. slowly darkness seeped inside her...
Deawen woke with a start, she was trembling, she groaned. Bad dreams like that prevented her from going to sleep was she to be plagedall her life of bad dreams? she stayed in bed letting her relax.

*Sen sat by the fire, his clothes, now that he had shed his armor, steaming. He was at last warm again, if only for a brief while. He was content, until he felt that Deawen was upset. The medallion that she carried worked both ways. So, calling over the nearest attendant to tell him where it was, he took a couple pieces of bread, and made his way to her room. After stealing a quick glance around, he snatched a coal out of a brazier, and, a couple seconds later, replaced it, ice cold. He knocked, holding a small bowl that he had also grabbed behind his back. Maybe it will cheer her up, before they were to meet Lord Andur.*

Seeing that everyone was going there separate ways, Anira rose as well.

“Might I be of service, my lady?” a handmaiden asked as she approached her.

Anira nodded. “Where might I refresh myself?” she inquired.

The handmaiden nodded. “This way please,” she remarked. “I will show you to your quarters and have a bath drawn presently.”

Anira followed the woman in silence, briefly glancing about to study the lavish décor of the place. Opening a door to the room, Anira waited as the handmaiden beckoned additional servants to draw her bath. When all was ready, the handmaiden turned to her once more. “Is there anything else you require?” she asked.

Anira shook her head. “No, that will be all. Thank you.” she replied and dismissed them. Alone once again, Anira glanced about the room, smiling slightly at the comfortable surroundings. Removing her tunic, she stepped into the bath, pulled the curtain and sighed in contentment as the warm water washed over her, easing the tension she felt. She remained that way for sometime until she felt the chill in the air once more. Stepping out of the bath, she quickly changed into a fresh tunic and walked over to what would be her sleeping quarters. Sitting upon a plush rug upon the floor, she leaned back on the hands and stared at the ceiling. What is it that we face? She wondered for what seemed to be the thousandth time. Shaking her head and pushing her curiosity from her mind, she sat up right once again and sank into a meditative state-determined to be ready for whatever they were to face once they departed.

Deawen rolled out of the bed when she heard knocking. The room was freezing cold as the fire was low and the storm that threatened outside was begining to break, snow fell from the dark sky. She opened the door and saw that it was Sen. " what are you doing?' she asked " this is your room too you know!" she couldn't help a small chuckle. She could slightly sense he was up to something but he was better at disguising his intentions better than she was.

For a moment Imlosiel lingered, wondering if she should bother to take a bath before succumbing to her need for rest. With a somewhat flustered sigh, she entered the quarters that she had been shown to and flopped down on the bed, having made the decision to simply sleep. As she crawled beneath the thick fur blankets, thoughts of the impending meeting floated through her mind.

*Sen rubbed his head, embarassed slightly.*
Ah yes. Still getting used to that. Anyway, I brought you something; I felt that you needed a bit of cheering up.
*With a flourish, Sen pulled out the bowl from behind his back. What used to be bread was now a bowl of juicy strawberries, covered in the purest white cream you could imagine.*
Something was troubling you; I could feel it. So, I brought these for you. No, no-one saw me. I was sure of that.

Deawen laughed " You always find interesting ways to cheer me up" She said picking up a stawberry. " I don't know how you do these things, " she said shutting the door behind him " It's why I love you so much.. small things mean the most" she sat by the fire and ate the strawberry. She becmae serious as she stared at the flames.. " my dreams seemed to be plagued as of late or I can't sleep at all..It's like i can't rest"

I am glad I can help. Though with dreams, that is not my realm. The Phoenix, he dances in them, but I cannot say what he can do for you, my love. What foe plays havoc with your dreams?
*Sen finished, as he wrapped his arms around his knees, sitting close to the fire and looking up at Deawen.*

"The phoenix holds no sway over me you know that..." she said softly " It seems the Dragon has forsaken his children,"
" water seems to be in my dreams " she said softly

*Sen stared at the fire for a second, before replying.*
It is this infernal cold. There is truly something evil that covers this land like a frozen plague. I say, if water troubles your dreams, let the trees drink it up. Think of home, a roaring fire, and the soft whispers of the trees. It will end, my love. All evil does, eventually.

As the bath cooled, she could feel the beast draw close again, so she got out and dressed in her warmest clothes. Grabbing the crackers that had been left her, she donned her sheepskin cloak with the rabbit-fur trim and headed to buy supplies, munching crackers. Outside, the occasional flury brushed her face as she headed to the market. She had decided to pick up some warmer boots and an outer pair of gloves. Lastly, she was craving any sort of food that was not jerky and dried bread. She ducked into a tanner's shop and picked out some thick, bear-skin boots and double-lined hare-fur gloves. She also grabbed a coif to protect her head from the cold bronze of her mail. Next, she headed to the market and picked up dried fish, dried apples, some queer orange fruits from far south (that cost a pretty penny), raisins, dried tomatoes, a box of salt, and dried garlic. The man she bought all this from, having been very wary initially, had warmed up after she handed him one gold and one silver coin. So pleased he was, he tossed in a small bag of dried onions. "Thankyou, sir! It will make me a good soup!" she said with a smile and a wave as she headed back towards the fortress. At the very end, she passed a book seller's shop and decided to browse. She ended up spending another two gold coins on a history book and a story about one of the Numenorean princes. Finally she got back, with a small headache on top of her purchases. She drank a bit of water and laid down to sleep for awhile.

With her meditation completed, Anira opened her eyes and gazed around at the room. Rising to her feet, she crossed over to the elegant window and gazed outside, staring at the vast wasteland of winter that surrounded her. Crossing her arms across her chest, she stayed that way for some minutes more, trying to figure out the creature that they had yet to face. With a sigh, she walked over to the bed and crawled under the thick fur covers. Might as well try to get some sleep, she thought as she turned on her side and fell into a fitful sleep after a few minutes more.

Deawen stared at the fire while Sen spoke. " we shall see" she said in a whisper, she chuckled slightly " funny, the only home I have ever known is my fathers Hall, Minas Tirth only brings fruastration and politics...I find it strange that when I married you we both agreed to lay down our life of adventures and battles...now we battle Kings and nobles... " she said dramaticaly flopping backwards on the bear skin rug. She fell silent for awhile, absently picking at the ruby red strawberries.

*Sen sat still for a moment, staring into the flames.*
Peace, my love. We strive to make it, only to be caught up in another battle, another instance of political turmoil. I wish to spend the rest of my life in peace, with you. Yet fate has decided that our lives will be without peace, at least for a while yet. We do what others cannot. It is as simple as that. I will be with you, my lady Deawen, to whatever end.
*There was a knock on the door, and Sen stood up.*
Yes?
*A servant opened the door, his head bowed slightly.*
My lord and lady, the Lord Andur has returned. If it is your pleasure, he is ready to see you.

Deawen smiled at Sen. She looked over at the door when she heard the knock but didn't respond to it. Atleast not to the Servant " Might as well get this over with..."
Deawen got up and walked behind the dressing screen changed out of her travel clothes into something alittle more formal. after that she shifted through her saddle bags and found a leather pouch containing her hair pins. she sat down in a chair and began to braid her copper hair pinning it up as she went. her medallion pulsed slightly, she took the pendant off and tucked it in her pocket. " I can't risk anyone seeing it pulse like that. " she said softly. She wore no sword or any obvious weapon. She even changed from her riding boots to soft beaded shoes. " Lets go win some battles.." she said kissing Sen. " And no fire tricks" she smiled playfuly.
