*Sen took Deawen quickly to their room, and shut the door.*
Poisoned you say? I had hoped we would not discover this much resistance, but to poison an ambassador... This is ground for war.
*Sen turned slightly, and turned back, a worried look on his face.*
I might be able to help; I do not know if it would work with you, but I could give it a try. Is it fine with you?
*Sen rubbed his hand against his armor, as if itching something...*

Deawen chuckled weakly at Sen's statement. " I doubt that King Elessar would declare war over my poisoning." she said shivering. She watched him through half closed eyes. " What?' she asked when he said he wantedto try something. She had become leary of his moments like that. not from anger but she hated when he used his gift on her. " Go ahead.. " she said after a moment with her eyes shut.

*Sen took a cup, and poured a small measure of juice into it. As he was doing this, however, his hand began to shake, spilling the juice slightly. Wondering what was wrong, Sen set the cup down, and looked at his hand. There were a myriad of little scratches on it, just piercing the skin. Suddenly his eyes went wide.*
He- how did he know?!
*Sen exclaimed, the air forcing its way out of his lungs. He sank to his knees, hand clutched over his chest. Falling to the ground, he began heaving, air struggling to enter and exit his lungs, veins standing out as all the muscles in his body seized up. He was powerless, in more ways than one.*
Vile... Traitor...
*Sen hissed out, trying to reach out to Deawen.*
He... poisoned us both...

Anira nodded and was about to enter Lord Andur's study but found that she could not shake her worry over Lady Deawen. Something seemed terribly wrong and her instincts screamed at her to discover the truth of the lady's mysterious illness from Lord Sen rather than this lord. "I thank you for your hospitality, my lord," she said instead. "But if it pleases your lordship, I would prefer to check on the condition of my friend."

Deawen was too dizy to help him. She reached out to him through her gift and carfuly enveloped him her warm and healing fire. Her own gift hardly worked on herself but seemed to do nicely with others. BUt no matter how hard she tried she could never get past a certain wall within Sen's mind. It was critical that she break past it now to keep him consiouse. " Sen open your mind!" Deawen said as he cut his mind away from her.

Morwen woke up and lay under the blankets for a while, hesitant to leave the warmth. She stretched and forced herself up. She redressed and decided to explore a bit. She could feel something sinister in the air. She tucked a sheathed dagger under her vambrace and slipped out. The hallway was bare, unfurnished stone. She headed to the large staircase. She scanned her surroundings continually as she crept down the hallway. All the doors were open but for the last before the end of the hall. She stopped and tried it. "Locked," she muttered to herself. She slipped her dagger out and used it to lift the pin and turn the barrel of the lock. The door opened with a squeel and she went in. All that there was was a small spiralling staircase that led into the dark. She put the knife back, and went down. The space at the bottom was narrow, and slanting shafts of light cutting through the gloom revealed it was quite a long passage. She went to the nearest and looked through. "Spying!" she whispered. There was a scuffle further down the passage. She could hear a body moving quickly toward her. With nowhere to turn, she slipped out the dagger and shoved it into the stomach of her attacker. The body shrank, and Morwen grabbed its tunic and pulled the face into the light. It was one of the boys who had helped to to cart water. In his hand was a folded piece of parchment with observations from each room. She took it from his hand, carried his body to the end of the hallway and laid it at the bottom of the staircase. "Ic beon angmód, cniht." She went to find Deawen and show her what she had found.

Imlosiel, also disturbed at the sudden condition of Lady Deawen, bowed swiftly in Lord Andur's direction and took off after Anira. In a whispered voice when they were out of earshot from the study, Imlosiel asked Anira in a somewhat panicked tone, "What do you think could have possibly put her in that state?"

Anira bit her lip before answering. "I have my eyes on the lord. Mischief is a foot in these halls," she replied in just as hushed tones as she quickened her pace. "If my suspicions are correct, then our party is not safe here." Cursing under her breath, she thought of how lax she had been here. Anira, you fool, she chastised herself. "Let us hasten to our friends. I no longer trust this place." she said softly as they walked along. I must talk with Lord Sen to see if he feels the same or if my suspicions are groundless.

*Sen could only stare at Deawen, all the strength he had was used to keep breathing. He was able to gasp out one word, however.*
Stasite.
*It was his bane. A blade would cause him to not be able to heal himself as he could, but a powdered form in his blood... For most people, it would cause them to have chills all over, and grow cold for days. Yet to those few who were gifted as he, it could be fatal. It would suppress all his power, and drain him of all strength until it was out of his system, and that could take a day, if not more. He could barely breathe; he had to force his lungs to work. He could not speak to Deawen's thoughts, and the Phoenix was silent, and in pain.*

Deawen felt she was in a fog, she heard Sen speak but she had a hard time understanding the meaning. She laid there with her eyes shut grasping her thoughts and functions with a single train of mind. She was breathing..Good..she could still use her gift..very good..She forced herself to raise herself up it was if she was made of lead. She coughed slightly and smoke poured from her nose. What ever stasite was it was making her lose the fragile line of control. She finally got to her feet using the bed as a support. Slowly inch by inch until she reached the fireplace. the fire was low but enough to substain her. Deawen touched the flames and felt a tingle up her arm and flood of heat. She felt her mind slowly clear and she was aware of her surroundings. She turned and Saw Sen as if for the first time noticing his ailment. She rushed to his side as he was ignoring her words, she placed her hands on his temples and concentrated. Hr gift flowed down her arms into him, her hair shimmer as if made of a river of copper and her eyes became clear blue...She looked down on him and felt all her memories of him surface. She was in osgiliath during the war and mistook him for an enemy by his black armor...Then escaping from Minas Tirth...He cut his hand and opened his palm revealing a perfect cut ruby...how he saved her from death countless times...she never had the chance to repay him...with the good comes the bad how she betrayed him trying to save him. The look in his eyes as he charged towards her white fire in his hands black wings flaring. she shoved that memory away... She loved him no matter the past. She took out one of her daggers she kept hidden she opened her hand and stared at it for a moment before cutting her palm then clenched it shut. The cut didn't hurt but felt extreamly hot. she opened her hand a single perfect ruby inset a golden ring lay where the cut was. she picked it up gingerly and felt her gift pulse inside it like her medallion. She placed the ring on one of his fingers then whispered " Once a long time ago you gave me a ruby just like this one, when i was dying now it is my turn to repay that debt.. " She continued to let her gift seep into him to give him strength.

Morwen met Anira as she headed towards Deawen's room. SHe observed the face of her companion and divined that something was very wrong. "What's happening, Anira?" she asked quickly.

"Lady Deawen took ill mid-way into the meeting with Lord Andur. Lady Imlosiel and I missed the start, but we saw Lady Deawen being helped to her room." She then glanced around before continuing, her voice no louder than a whisper. "I suspect that the lord has something to do with her mysterious illness," she replied. "We came as quickly as we could to check on Lady Deawen and I wished also to speak with Lord Sen, for I fear we are no longer welcome in these halls" she added in the same hushed tone.

*Sen's breathing eased slightly; not because of Deawen's power, for no amount of that would help against stasite, which nullifies all powers, but because he knew Deawen was there and would not leave his side. He clutched his ring tightly in his hand, and spoke softly.* My dearest Deawen, guard yourself. The lord would not poison us like this and leave us here. I doubt he thinks we are dead, but disable and imprison us, and he has a bargaining chip. Be ready, and I am deeply sorry I cannot stand beside you...
*Sen said, and a tear slid down his cheek not flat against the rug.*

Deawen Tensed as Sen spoke she laughed bitterly " Dragons only have one weak point in our armor.." she quoted a tone of sadness tinged her voice as she carassed his brow. " I am not leaving you until you are better again." She stated firmly, settling herself comfortably beside him. She stared at him silently her sapphire eyes glittering, She had stopped transferring her gift into him as it seemed to do no good. " Lord Andur most know what we are to do such an act.." she pointed out, "but luckly he does not know my weak point..." she suddenly had a thought, rising to her feet she flared the fire in hearth making the room almost unbearably hot. then Rushed to the door and barred it. She only hopped her friends were luckier than her.

Morwen shook her head. "Something is truly wrong. The door at the end of this corridor leads to a passageway between the outer wall and our rooms. They've been spying on us for the short time we've been here. I've just killed the boy with the records. Here they are." She handed over the folded vellum. "Their hospitallity, sincere or not, will not last long when they find him."

Imlosiel's eyes widened in shock, both upon hearing of the boy's demise and of the fact that they all had been observed all along. Slowly, seemingly forcing her hand to move, Imlosiel took the folder from Morwen's hand, and cast her eyes down upon it.
Snapping out of her surprised daze, Imlosiel looked back up to Mowen with an expression that was saturated with fright and anxiety. "We must leave this horrid place now! We must gather Lady Deawen and Lord Sen...they have to be made aware of what you have discovered!"
