 Hahaha! You guys are killing me! *falls off chair*
My mum and I went through this "phase" nearly two years ago where we would watch the LotR movies every chance we got. She isn't a Tolkienite but she likes the movies.
Anyway, one of my younger brothers (now 6 years old) became as LotR-obsessed as a (then) 4 year old can be, by watching the movies with us.
After that, he would often get mum's old leather jacket and put it on, use plastic shovels and spades as swords which he shoved down his back because the wouldn't fit in his pants, used plastic coat-hangers for bows and plastic train-tracks for arrows, and tried to imitate both Aragorn and Legolas at the same time (they're his fav. characters) - so we nicknamed him Legolorn.
And just a few days ago, he dressed up as Gandalf the white - got in a white shirt and shorts, and found a wooden pole (maybe from an old broom) and came to me, announcing he was Gandalf the white. He wanted a cloak though, so I got the old white baby blanket, took off the sheet and tied it around his neck, in a way that gave the illusion there was even a hood. and dad reckons this was what Gandalf must've looked like as a 6 year old.

The Black stick is supposed to be Glamdring. The Brown stick is his staff, self-explanatory.
Sorry bad timing on the pic, got his face covered, but I decided to put this one up cos you know, scary internet out there.... better this one I thought. But I'm no expert on the internet so wasn't sure... but yeah thought I might as well.  (am I being too vague?  )

Those pics are pretty cute.
I've been reading this thread and I nearly fell off my chair at some of the things you guys said.
I don't have any crazy tales apart from my boyfriend announcing that he only learned Legolas's name because it has "Lego" in (he really likes Lego...), that Galadriel was "unimportant as she's not in the Fellowship" and that after I'd said that Galadriel had a ring of power, I was told that there was only 1 ring of power. (Then came a long explanation of all the rings)
