((Ok peoples, here is the Wheel of time RPG I have promised. I am hoping it will build momentum and prove to be as successful as it deserves to be.

Before diving into the story however, there are a few guildlines I wish to draw out and a few rules I wish to set in place with the intention of making the whole story run smoothly

1. You should not join the story unless you are familiar with the Wheel of Time Universe. That does not mean to say that you can only join if you have read the books. I have found an interesting if somewhat vague guide to 'the world of the wheel of time' that I recommend to new comers.

Wheel of Time Guide

This is also a good site to check out if you have read the books but just want to brush up your knowledge.

2. You must submit your character in the Wheel of Time Character thread and follow the character layout that I use. Note that in the character thread there will be a limit to certain races/nationals etc. You're character will then need my approval before it can start to post in the story.

3. All standard AU.com RP rules apply.

4. Be considerate of time and space, no jumping all of a suddenly from Andor to Shienar in one post... if you are unsure of your geography, check out the WoT maps.

Wheel of Time Maps

You shouldn't attempt to move time forward too much either. There may be cases when I will move the time forward to spice things up.

5. Any text from myself in italics is 'fate' and cannot be intervened. I may on rare occasion power play your character slightly to make things more interesting and hopefully exciting for everyone involved.

6. The story will be set 5 years BEFORE the Eye of the World (bk 1). Other than that there is no storyline restrictions.

7. You CANNOT play as a character from the stories. I may on occasion play as one of them however only again to make things more exciting.

8. If you are a darkfriend or a shadowspawn then you may find yourself contacted at times by the great forsaken Ishamael in the world of dreams.

9. The story will be locked until there are enough players to get the story going at a good pace.

10. Enjoy! And remember... the Wheel weaves as the wheel wills.))

((ok we've got a few on board now so i guess we should get started while interest is still fresh. As I said earlier this story is set 5 years BEFORE book 1 (993 NE) so a few tips when playing:

Wheel of time Timeline

Rand, Perrin and Mat are on about 12 years old and therefore will NOT play a part in the story.

The Forsaken are still bound to the dark ones prison with the exception of Ishamael who can touch the character's lives through the world of dreams alone. Therefore Ishamael will be the main catalyst behind the main plot and will be played by me sparingly to move things along whenever need be.

Logain has only just learned how to channel. He too can play a pivotal part in any evolving story))

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two men's feet danced on the baked, red clay ground, their spears clattering against one another in a flurry of beautifully orchestrated moves. The man to the left, slightly the taller and seemingly stronger of the two, seems to press the contest, forcing his opponent onto the back foot with a forceful succession of blows with his spear. His opponent uses the opportunity to use the larger man's momentum to overthrow his balance, causing him to stumble forward , losing one step... all that any Aiel should need to finish the fight.
The smaller of the two, now with the scent of victory in his nostrils strikes true with a low sweep of his spear, taking the legs away from his opponent who crashes to the ground, his breath rushing from compressed lungs. The smaller opponent, moving to finish the fight, thrust his spear down toward the exposed neck of his grounded opponent who with quicksilver reflexes rolls to one side and lands a thrusting kick to the head of the upright man who stumbles backward giving the larger man chance to regain his footing and his weapon...
'You are too rash... Now you're only chance is wasted!' The larger man taunts with a sly smirk growing across his face
'You are lucky Baan, this time I will not make the same mistake...'
As the two stalk in closer a young female Aiel appears over the hillock...
(I want to post, but I'm not sure exactly what I should post in order to get some interaction of some sort. Do you think I should have Myrae's band of Tinkers be traveling through the waste? Or are you planning on bringing the Aiel characters over the Wall soon?)
((That's the glory of RP... you just gotta go with the flow... you could start by having them being attacked in the waste, forcing a decision upon the Aiel, or you could start somewhere else in the world, forcing different characters into the tale... it's entirely upto you.))
(and so it begins, I never post long things though...)
Sheloth had been watching the fight with great intrest, her face a hard mask covering her amusement. Now she strolled down the hill and approached the two men, who were circling each other. Though shorter than both, she nonetheless carried herself with obvious dignity and took pride in her position as a Maiden of the Spear.
"Fighting again are we?" She asked sarcastically as she noted the scuffed ground and the positions of certain movements.
Baan swivelled on his heels to see the young Aiel woman he knew as Sheloth, a fiery Maiden of the Spear. She was very small for an Aiel with unusually dark hair for someone from the three fold land however that did not diminish her skill in battle nor her demeanour.
Baan's distraction was punished swiftly by a crunching blow to the back of the neck followed by a sweeping blow to the back of the knees, sending him crashing to the dirt.
'This fight belongs to me Baan Pyrianka.' His opponent said while standing over his body. The man looked up at Sheloth with apparent distaste before about turning and running off at a canter in to the distance... Leaving Sheloth and Baan alone.
The Aiel woman grimised at the nasty fall that's going to hurt later, "Sorry about the distraction, Baan. I hadn't seen you all morning and had wondered where you had run off to this time. Here, let me help you up, it's the least I can do."
Sheloth came down from where she was standing on a slight rise and approached Baan. "Who was that man you were fighting anyway? I've never seen him before."
With a long sigh of relief, the young woman wrapped the cool, moist cloth around her forehead. Not much, but it did offer some respite from the scorching sun of the Waste. The band of Tuatha'an were a splash of bright, crazy color on the brown, dry dirt. Myrae, herself, was exemplery of this, with her vibrant red skirt and neon green tunic. The satisfaction of the wet headband lasted only moments, and then she was panting and sweating just as much as she had before. "Light!" she exclaimed with exasperation.
"Do not be so downcast, Myrae! It will not be long before we reach the Wall." Her Uncle Jaeth, the Mahdi of their band, called down to her from his wagon. Myrae peered up at him, squinting against the sun. Despite her exhaustion, she forced a smile. Seeing her uncle's jubiliance, it wasn't as difficult as she expected. "Ride in the wagon if you are tired," he continued.
She thought for a minute and shook her head. "No, Uncle. I prefer walking... even in this wasteland." She couldn't wait to get back over the Dragon Wall where things actually grew! She longed to see greenery again, bright colors rather than this dust. It wouldn't be long. Hopefully.
Taking a sip of water from her flask, Myrae skipped onward, trying to adopt some of her uncle's joy. All of the Tinkers were as weary as she, but still they smiled and waved as she passed. She couldn't help but smile back at those friendly familiar faces.
When she reached the front of the train of wagons, she caught sight of a rise in the land not far in front of her. She knew it was foolish, but it was fun to pretend that just over that rise she would find lush, green landscape and water! So much water that she could go for a swim! The fantasy almost seemed real as she laughed and ran to the top of the small rise. When she reached the crest, she let out a little laugh and a sigh, seeing what she knew she would see: more dry, red dirt.
But as she started to turn around, back towards the wagons, she saw something else. Black splotches against the dirt. People? More of the Aiel surely. Of course, they would let the Tinkers pass safely by as they had always done. But then.... She squinted hard against the sun. Wait....
Myrae gasped and started sprinting back to the wagons. "Trollocs!" she screamed, "Trollocs! heading this way!" Oh, Light, preserve us!
Baan shrugged away from the offering of help from Sheloth and sprung back up to his heels.
'You try to mock my honour Far Dareis Mai?' Baan exclaimed as he peered searchingly at Sheloth. The two had known each other for some time now and despite the typical rivarly and hostility between the Stone Dogs and Maidens of the Spear they were as close to what could be called friends in the three fold land.
On hearing her Question, Baan looked toward the direction his opponent had went running. 'He is Aruan, of Shaido Sept... a Thunder Walker. We come here to dance the spears and keep up our strength. He doesn't like many people and his clan outcast him because they think he is ill boding... He will spit in sightblinder's eye come the final ba...'
Baan was cut off by the unmistakable guttural cry of a Trolloc. Foolish Baan! There's not been a Trolloc sighted in the three fold land for years!
Hefting up his spears from the ground he spared a sly smirk to Sheloth before darting off toward the rising cries to the west... Wrapping his Shoufa over his head as he went.
Then the Tinkers were scrambling into the brightly colored wagons. Doors slammed shut and locked. Their only hope was to keep out of the Trollocs reach. Myrae knew that they had no chance. They would not fight back, and therefore they had no hope. Not that she disagreed with the Way of the Leaf, but neither did she look at their coming massacre with joy. Tears filled her eyes as she pondered the fate that awaited her and her family. She knew that Trollocs ate anything as long as it was meat. "I don't want to end up over a Trolloc's cookfire," she sobbed quietly.
Amidst the terrified screams of the women and the wailing of the babes, her uncle's voice rose clear, though Myrae detected a quaver of fear in it. "Everyone stay calm," Jaeth urged, "The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills."
Does the Wheel will that we all be slaughtered?! Myrae was distraught. Then suddenly she heard the sounds of fighting outside the wagons. What...? For a moment, she was confused, and then it hit her. The Aiel! Myrae had never loved anyone more than she did whatever Aiel were out there fighting then. She clambered over the people who were huddled inside the wagon up to the front. She knew it was dangerous, but her curiousity got the best of her, as always. She peered out the front opening of the wagon.
...She peered out the front opening of the wagon... and was confronted with the disfigured image of a Trolloc no more than two feet away, roaring in triumph at Myrae as he raised his bloodied axe above his horned head, preparing to bring it down on the skull of the Tinker.
It was the last thing the Trolloc would ever attempt... a spear flew through the air, impaling the trolloc through it's throat, ending the savage life there and then.
Baan came hurtling down into the midst of the carnage. Aruan was there already, dancing from Trolloc to Trolloc, killing as he went as though it was as natural to him as breathing.
Baan noticed a pretty young tinker woman peering out of a nearby wagon where a Trolloc has just maimed another tinker who had been too slow to flee. The trolloc had noticed her and was about to bring down his axe. Baan had no love for the Tuatha'an but he hated Trollocs the more. He launched one of his his short spears and his aim was true... peircing the trolloc in the throat. Paying little more heed to the tinker woman, he took a moment to look around him... 'Where's Sheloth?' He thought...
(can our Aiel have a Legolas Gimli kind of contest perhaps?)
Sheloth ran towards the sounds of battle, shoufa wrapped around her face, spear at the ready. Spotting trollocs grouped around a group of tinker's wagons, she hurtled toward the disfigured creatures.
One trolloc lumbered towards her, a savage grin on his face. That soon changed, though, as the Maiden's spear ended his miserable life. Soon, another rushed forward, only to join his fellow on the ground. Sheloth counted as she went, with every number her face growing grimmer under the wraps of the shoufa, this was an unusually large group to be traveling after three whole years, this was more like...
"It's an army..." she breathed. "Twenty."
((sure, just as long as it is kept in the attitude of the Aiel :D))
Baan noticed Sheloth dancing the spears with a group of Trolloc. Even as friends he had little concern for her, she was a Maiden of the Spear and could fight juse as well as he, besides... Baan had just enough concern for his own well being.
Arcing backward he barely escaped a wide swing of a lumbering axe before a thrusting his speak deep into the heart of the wild Trolloc. They were everywhere.
Two of the Tuatha'an wagons were aflame, Trollocs roared in glee as burning tinkers fled for water they would never find. The three Aiel danced through the forest of hulking figures, killing as they went. With little sign of reprieve they fought fiercly for their lives and the lives of the helpless tuatha'an people. Baan leaped at a Trolloc, catching the beast with a sharp boot to the throat. The Stone Dog landed with his spear instantly embedded in the side of the dead enemy. He looked up and to his dismay there, slithering toward him the Myrddraal came, his eyes gaze sending shivers down Baan's spine. Baan had little time to consider his fate, another trolloc landed a glancing blow with his boot, sending Baan to the dark rock, the Aielman spun on the dirt and without missing a heartbeat had landed his hunting knife in the eye of the Trolloc. regaining his feet he moved to regain his speak but it was too late... the Myrddraal towered over his weapon, a guttural hiss eminating from the featureless face... Weaponless Baan had to think of something... and something fast.
