Callisto walked passed the ruins of her home, her aqua eyes reflecting the emptiness in heart as memories of her family flooded her mind. Dead. They are all dead. her mind screamed over and over. And you couldn't help them. Shutting her eyes, she felt tears threaten to spill anew. Stop it! she chided herself. You have to be strong now. Drawing in a steadying breath, she started to look for any of her friends, hoping that they would have better news to tell. But from the vast devastation she had witnessed, she knew in her heart that chances of any life remaining in the village would be close to none. She halted suddenly as she saw the shadow elementals approaching her. Senka! she thought, unsure of how to react to a girl who harnessed such dark powers. So she stood where she was, letting the young woman make the first move.

Senka looked at Callisto. "Who do you think did this?" She asked, she wanted to know who she would be killing for taking her revenge.

Anger started to build up within Minna. Her eyes glazed sapphire and she fell into a limp form, the air around her started to twist around her body, slowly creating a tornado that could further destroy the valley and her fello elementals.

"I don't know, " Callisto replied quietly as she looked in the distance. "A group of highly trained bandits, an army headed by a warlord, as of now, I do not know who the true culprit may be.“ She paused then before speaking again. “This village has always been isolated from enemies. Perhaps we were too careless..." her voice trailed off as she glanced at Senka once more. Suddenly the air around them began to swirl and Callisto shifted her eyes to see Minna creating a tornado. "MINNA, STOP!" she cried, as her golden hair whipped around her. Este! she thought as she turned in the direction of her winged friend. Flee now!

Jeniya finally let go of her lover's hand and looked at the horizon. She heard the answer and she knew he was right. Their people deserved vengeance. They deserved justice. She then heard the howling of the wind and saw behind her a massive tornado. She gasped and yelled, "You're losing control, Minna!" She cowered backwards and tripped, falling on her back. She looked around, despite the tornado, to see the thing that she tripped over. It was a body. But by sensing its blood, it wasn't an Elemental. It was something new. It was shorter than an Elemental but stockier. It wore a dirty tunic covered by a chain mail skirt and filthy pants. On its head was a poorly made iron helmet. Its bared mouth revealed sharp incisors much like a rat. Its right hand held a crude iron sword, stained with Elemental blood. Jeniya quickly deduced that this creature or rather its race was responsible for her lover's death. She tried to stand up to inform the remaining survivors but the force of the wind forced her down.

Amaran stood, glaring out into the darkness. A shadow elemental lay silently crying a few feet to his left. He bowed his head, and began to whisper to her.

Then the wind picked up.

It was subtle at first, but grew quickly. Dust was kicked up by the fearsome gale, followed by twigs and all matter of debrie. Shading his eyes against the flying dirt, he looked in the direction of the wind. Minna! he growled to himself. Throwing up a stone wall in front of him, he pushed forward, allowing the rock to act as his shield as he crept closer to Minna. When he was as close as he could get, sent a wave of earth to bump Minna's vacant form. "Minna!" He shouted over the roar of the wind. "Minna!"

Roania's red hair started whipping around her face as a gust of wind toar through the village, picking up what was left of houses. She spun around to see one of the Elementals turning up a tornado. "Minna!" she yelled over the wind, "Stop!" Fire was no good against wind.

Minna looked at Callisto, her eyes seemed to say Just try and stop me Her friends voices finally caught up to her just before her power reached its peak. Suddenly, pain roared through her body and she fell to the earth, back to normal.

Jeniya withdrew her hand slowly as still unable to believe what she had done. She knew what she just did, though. Knowing full well that blood magic couldn't hope to counter the violent tornado, she did the only thing that won't kill Minna. She directed her blood away from her brain, forcing her into unconscious. She made sure there was still enough so Minna would only faint, not die. As the tornado wailed its last breath and died out, Jeniya forced her own brain to think one thing I had to do it. I had no choice.

Luinen eventually let the kelpie lay on it's own and stood up. She went back to the pile that was the stable and started digging around. She eventually found a silver bridle all in one piece, with a few scorch marks and ash stains. Then digging some more she found a girthless saddle. She piled the tack near the kelpie and sighed. How was she to use a saddle without a girth? Then Nenwa came flying over, holding one end of a small girth, and dragging the rest.

Because of the stone walls around the courtyard, Luinen only felt a rough wind from Minna, and thought nothing of it. The water elemental came back to the kelpie, and smeared healing salve that she had in her pack on the creature's burns and scratches. The wounds healed fast because the salve was made especially for creatures of the water. The kelpie eventually was able to stand, using it's tail that was much like a mermaids, to stay steady on shaky legs.

The keplie came up to Luinen and rubbed her muzzle again Luinen's cheek as if to say thank you.
"I shall name you Telwa," Luinen said, then put the saddle and bridle on the kelpie, and led her out of the courtyard to the street. From there she still couldn't see any of her fellow elementals, they being more to the edge of town than where she was...

Galain looked upon the remainings of his house and slowly got on his feet, his heart filled with grief. He wished his family could have a proper burial but he was sure he couldn't manage to get the bodies of his mother or brothers out of the window on his own.
He walked back into town and he noticed Luinen, the water elemental and a kelpie. "Is there then still something alive in this cursed town?" he asked her bitterly.

Callisto breathed a sigh of relief as the force of the tornado died down and the gales vanished. Why didn't you flee? she chided her friend.

And leave you, mistress? came Este's reply.

I have already lost my family. I can not bear to witness the death of a friend as well. Callisto responded back as she turned away, guilt shining in her eyes.

There was nothing that you could do for them.

I could have fought them.

And share the same fate?

Callisto gave her friend a hard look before turning back to the other elementals gathered in the area. "Our loved ones..." she said. "We can not leave them in the open to be desecrated so..."

Sal hissed up in her ear in Roania's ear in annoyance to the tornado. She ran a finger over his head, then then turned to Callisto who was speaking. "No," she agreed with her, "We can't."

Luinen turned when she heard a voice talk to her.
"This keplie, Telwa, is the only living creature I could find in the rubble," she said to Galain. Then she turned to look one last time at the gate of her old home.
"I would flood the whole village so it could be cleaned and the bodies would be covered so they wouldn't be discrased by animals and weather. But I don't have the strength," she murmered more to herself than Galain...

Amaran dropped the stone wall as soon as Minna collapsed. Gently he placed two fingers to her throat and felt the steady pulse of blood. She was still alive. Laying her down with care, he stood and looked around. The wind had whipped up the coals, setting a couple feeble fires to the few places that had not already been burned.
