Goldleaf laughed quietly and stood. "Aye - he's lightened the mood well. Master dwarf, you are quite correct - Mithrandir is also known as Gandalf. But we Gondorians, in the Elven fashion, insisted upon calling him Mithrandir, and he liked it well enough. It is said he goes by many names."

Garsun was caught off guard by Rain's luagh and jumped up. When she finnished her speech, he sat back down.
"Oh, you're welcome. And by the way, this dwarf's name is Garsun. Garsun Stronghammer of the Lonely Mountain. And don't you forget it," he grunted, giving a good punch to his well armored chest to emphasize his name...

(Oh yeah, and forgot to say... I was talking with Tur(via PM), and she said that school has kept her from posting, or even keeping up...)
Rain stood straight again.
"Aye, Mithrandir is Gandalf. And, I promise you master Garsun Stonehammer of the Lonely Mountain, that I will not forget your name now. Lest you should knock the name into me with that well forged hammer of yours."

Goldleaf's smile grew larger. "I've never wielded an axe, it must be said," she said. "The sword is my weapon, and the stronger the better." She unsheathed her sword; indeed, it was mighty, and she carried it with the strength of a man. Gold flowers were wrought round the handle, and it glimmered in the sun.

"Personally I prefer a bow, though I can weild a sword, and have a broad sword of my own. But nothing fancy," Rain said, going over to pick up her bow where she had dropped it during the battle. It was a plain long bow with a few hunting knife done carvings...
(I had gone back... and what's really ironic is... well... you'll see. Here's the conversation when Goldleaf and Garsun first met:
"I don't know how they can mistake a dwarf for an orc, though," Garsun said grufly, and shook Goldleaf's pale hand with his head gloved one.
"Never mind that. Have you a place to stay?" she asked pleasantly. "It is long past midnight, by my reckoning. I am on guard tonight for the camp but you must be exhausted."
"I've spent too much time resting on a ship on the way here. I'm ready to take down a cave troll!" Garson replied.
Goldleaf laughed. "You won't get much of those around here," she said, "mostly orcs and Haradrim. The rangers have a lot of trouble with them, but they always prevail." She paused. "We, too, my companions and I, do our best against Mordor."
lol! And then they actually do end up fighting a cave troll... only Garsun misses out! lol!)

(wow... that is ironic! But you have to love the irony!)
Garsun nodded, then gasped at Goldleaf's sword.
"May I take a closer look at you're sword, please? It looks to be one of fine make. I don't think I've seen anything like it before."

(haha!)
"Of course." Goldleaf lowered her sword, and the sunlight caught the blade. "It was made in Gondor - it's not Elven. I first learnt how to wield it at the age of ten."

Garson delicatly held the sword in his hands, weighing it, and running fingers along the blade to test sharpness. Then he handed it back hilt first, to Goldleaf.
"That is a fine sword indeed. Do you know how long ago it was forged? The style and material seems to be that used in ancient days. But I could be mistaken."

Goldleaf smiled and sheathed the sword. "I don't know when it was made, I'm afraid, Garson," she said. "But it was given to me because of the golden flowers round the handle, to suit my name."

Rain watched the friendly exchange.
"I envy your fine weapons. But I need nothing fancy, I'm just fine with my self-made bow, and broad sword found in a barracks. Though it would be nice to have a weapon with a interesting history."

"Maybe one day you shall find out about that sword, Goldleaf. And you shall find a weapon with a story as honorable as you are, Rain," Garsun said, his brown eyes showing his joy in the talk of the forging and quality of weapons.
(Edit: Yay! I'm a dwarf! *never wants to not be this rank* )

Goldleaf smiled, and her face lit up. She sat down. "There are fine sword-forgers in Gondor. It is said that the finest weapons can be found in Elven lands, but that is untrue. The finest forgers lived in Gondor in the Elder days, when there was much need for swords and suchlike; when the sons of Elendil walked in Minas Anor."

Her eyes remained dark, as they always were, but perhaps the emotion behind them was a bit more somber. She produced her cane from behind her cloak once more and listened half-heartedly to the conversation her attention only caught when the dwarf named his home, "You hail from Erebor, then? Tell me how fared your kind after the most recent attack on Eryn Lasgalen, what you would call Mirkwood. I have friends under the mountain and I would like to have a bit of news," murmered the half-elf in what could have been concern. Although her mind was on topics far more pressing, her ears always listened for news of friends, whether the news was good or bad.
Smiling she unsheathed her own weapon, an old sickle gotten from a barn many years before, "You may keep your weapons of glory, but I find simple ones work best for me," she finished returning it to it's proper place next to it's twin.

She glances behind her as she steps back into the clearing. She strides over to Maeth, "There's something here that isnt right. I think that we may be watched..." Her voice low as she glances towards the injured group. "The blond girl and the dwarf are well enough to keep watch but the others must rest for the night if we are to continue in the morning." Sighing she looks solemnly at her friend, "What do you suggest?"

Garson nodded to Goldleaf, then turned to Maethoriel.
"When I left the Lonely Mountain, Thranduil had recieved a victory. The forest had been set afire by the Easterlings. And two Nazgul were there," the dwarf shuttered at the remembrance of the Nazgul. "But the elves were able to fight them off for the time and stopped the fire. Dain sent me here, but before I was going to come on my own anywa," he informed Meath, taking to looking intently at his hammer while sitting on his log...

She only nodded in response to the dwarf, immediately assuming a straighter posture, her whole being set on protecting the group now that Saira had brought trouble to her attention. "Set a watch around the camp, get a fire going...I don't want anything setting foot in this clearing without being seen by the blaze. See if the girl and the dwarf will stay guard while we scout, we will relieve them and bring back tidings of whatever you feel when we return," she responded her grave gravelled voice authoritative. She sighed as she rand her free hand through her hair and then traced the scar over her eye absently.
