She lets out a merry laugh at the dwarf's awe, "The Wizard indeed was always fond of his little tricks. I think that if we can we all entertain ourselves with it at times." Flashing him a grin, "What I just did I indeed learned from him, before well... Before things changed." Her face and voice betray none of her bitterness and she gives the girls a sideways glance, "I know that the Wizard is White now, but that does not mean that will not have time for - as you put it - tricks. Its the Mithrandir's tricks that make him what he is miss... That is to be a wizard. Along with the so called unending wealth of wisdom and whatnot." Here she chuckles and glances at Maeth, before looking back into the fire. "Still... I hope that Denethor sees the stupidity of what he's doing... I fear that he may be leading the White City into its doom..."

Goldleaf's expression darkened. "Do you mean the 'stupidity' of our Lord, or the 'stupidity' of Mithrandir? Either way you are wrong to call either one so. If you are calling Lord Denathor stupid, that's a terrible wrong - his son's death has left him at a loss and untrusting. However, if you call Mithrandir stupid, which I suspect you are... Then you have no idea how backwards your logic is. Mithrandir is Gondor's only hope. People who live in Gondor, people who have to face it's troubles every day - know that he is wise, and kind. If war is the direction he wants to go, I will follow."

Lifting an eyebrow, she continues to look into the green flames. "I have never called Gadalf stupid, miss, nor will I. I said that he is not the 'unending well of wisdom' not stupid. Mithrandir is many things, and some of them not the image he seems to be now miss. You do not know him like I do, not for the span of time I have. I know that you hold both our Lord and the Wizard in high standards, and it is because you have hope. I find you both very admirable, and a little foolish. Never estimate the best in someone dear..." She looks at Goldleaf almost imploringly with the last phrase. before turning to the fire again. "I know that Denethor has suffered a loss, but that is no reason to sacrifice the City and Men of Numenor! The time for mourning is not yet come... In that, yes. I do call him stupid and with full truth."

"The time for mourning? You do not know how we have all mourned, how the Lord has mourned," Goldleaf said quietly. "How Boromir's brother has mourned. You will never know. Aye, I have hope." She paused. "But also I carry despair. While I will talk of the hope of Gondor I will also weep inside for the ones I have lost."

She sighs, "My goodness girl. You are one fast to brag of knowing pain and dispair arent you? Stop feeling like the world around you knows nothing of it... I know that you may feel like that now, but when you've seen as much as some others, you will know that even the smallest has been affected by the evil of Sauron." She looks grim as she twirls a twig in her hands, then stands. "I had better make something to eat for everyone."

Goldleaf's laugh tightened to a thin pitch. "Brag!" she cried. "Brag? You are really one of the most arragant people I've ever met - thinking just because you're an elf you have the right to talk to people so! Do you want to know why I talk this way? Since you find it so annoying, I'll tell you. And you can laugh all you like for all I care."
She folded her arms. "I loved Boromir," she said. "Foolishly, perhaps. Blindly, even. But none could have loved him better, save his family. I loved him for the man he was, not for what he could do, not for his skills. Now he's dead. Of course he could never have loved me. But I swear I would have rather seen him alive and standing by another instead of just dead. And my despair is for him, and my hope is for him also."
She walked off, shivering a little, shell-shocked.

Garsun sat there wide eyed.
"I didn't mean for a gentle comment to turn into a fight- again. I didn't mean to start any trouble amungst allies. Fighting like this will bring only our enemie's luaghter. I may not know much sorrow, but fighting over who has seen or felt more seems to me to be something not worth fighting," he said, shaking his head and then shoving his pipe in his mouth so maybe he won't say anything else that would start another conflict...

Goldleaf laughed. "How could you have caused this argument, Master Dwarf?" she said. "I lay no blame on you. No blame on anyone." She gave a small smile. "The sooner we get to Osgiliath the better. I cannot stand this."

"Aye, sitting and waiting is tiring buisness," Garsun said, and noticed the fire was starting to die a little and threw another stick on it, setting off many sparks like many small orange falling stars. "Though the crackle of a good fire, food getting cooked, and a good harmless tale usually help ease the weariness of waiting. And we have one of three of those things."

"I have some food in my bag, some loaves of bread, I think," Goldleaf said. "And I have a rather pitiful tale to tell, but I don't think that's worth the hearing." She laughed and sat down, opening the woolen bag on her shoulder.

She smiles gently at the girl, "You can find me arrogant if you wish Miss... I only just wish you would stop talking like no one else has lost loved ones. Forgive me if I gave you the wrong impression. Kneeling, her green eyes meet the human's blue ones, "There is nothing foolish in love, no matter what. It is the very stuff that hold together all living things," she stands and laughs at the dwarf, "This is no fault of your Master Garsun. Merely mine. Now..." She goes to her pack and pulls out a pack of dried meat along with a pot. "I think that you will need some stew to go with that bread Miss. And the night is just coming on. Me and my companion will not be able to sleep and maybe the others would like to hear a story." She adds hastily, "If you wish to tell it that is."

Garsun rumaged through his pack but only found dwarf waybread, and only enough for him for awhile longer.
"I have nothing to spare for food, but I can tell a good story. My grandfather always told me stories of the days of Durin and the making of the Mines of Moria, and the Great Goblin war when the Moria was lost to dwarven kind. The tales of Durin are especially my favorite. And I know a few tales of the deeds of men from the men of Dale. And maybe one of the elves of Mirkwood," he said, lightly chewing thoughtfully at the stem of his pipe...

She gets her gourd and pours water into the pot. Placing it over the fire, "That's a wonderful idea master dwarf. It would be most welcome." She sits back down as she waits for the water to boil. "This is food for everyone. I was well stocked and I've only been on the road a week."

She looked down at the three after her moments of pacing, apparently the half-elf had been too lost in her own thoughts to pay enough attention to the arguement about her. Smiling she said "I have many tales lads and lassies, from Harad to Gondor," smiling she added "I'm rather fond of those from Dale truth be told. But I'm not a storyteller by nature, I would prefer to listen." With that she took a seat by the fire, her kness drawn to her chest and her head resting atop her gloved hands. "Alright, who's first?" She questioned, the intonation in her voice one of near excitement.

Goldleaf paused then smiled. She tipped the bread out from her bag. "I'll go first," she said, "if anyone wants to hear it." She sat down properly and divided the bread into equal piles.
"It's about when I first met Boromir," she said. At the mention of his name her face brightened again. "When I was seventeen, two years ago. I was on a trip to Minas Tirith, and had spent the whole day there, thinking it a wonderful city. I didn't want to leave, I loved it that much." Her blue eyes flickered in the firelight. "So I decided I'd stand on the walls and look out onto the Pelennor. But there was someone else there, and I knew who it was, of course. He was looking out onto the Pelennor, just as I had wanted to. And so I greeted him. I'm not sure if he really wanted me there at first, but he seemed glad of the company. After that I came back to Minas Tirith every night to talk with him on the walls."
She paused and one hand was shaking slightly. "He told me about so many interesting matters. I loved listening to him. He talked about Gondor, and he seemed so wise. And strong. I admired him for that."
Goldleaf paused for a while. "And I suppose there's no proper end to this story," she said. "But that's mine. Master Dwarf, would you like to go next?"

Garsun nodded at Goldleaf's story, staring at the fire the whole time.
"Yes, I think I'll go next. My story is about a brave man by the name of Dorn," the dwarf began, and went on about how Dorn traveled to the Grey Mountains north of the Lonely Mountain. He said that it's said that he killed a dragon with his own hands and brought the treasure back to Dale, but it sank to the bottom of the river. "It's said then that Dorn swam down to the bottom and got some of his treasure, but never came back up. Some think he had gotten his treasure but it was too heavy to bring back up. Others think he was carried away by the heavy currents and killed by hitting his head against rocks."
