She listened to the stories as she tipped the meat into the boiling water, then sat down next to Maeth, "We will have to be careful... That girl is as jumpy as a frog on fire. Still, I hope that we all get to Minas Tirith without him catching up." She whispers to her friend and then turns to the fire to continue listening to the Dwarf's story

Goldleaf handed out the pieces of bread to everyone. "There," she said. "It's not much, but it'll do. Listen, I was thinking; tommorrow we should leave for Osgiliath. We should all be healed by now, and sitting here doing nothing will do no one any good."

A brief nod was the only response given to Saira. Her attention was on stories and thoughts of an age long before any of them were born. Blinking she shook her head to break the reverie, "Saira I do believe it is your turn," she said quietly, referring to stories. She glanced at Goldleaf, "It is a sound plan, but our travel will be slow. We shall have to rest often so that our other companions can regain their strength," with that she returned her pipe to her mouth once more and waited for the next story.

Goldleaf nodded. "We can rest when we get to Osgiliath too. From then onwards we go to Minas Tirith, where there will be proper rooms for us hopefully, if the Lord is kind." She smiled and took a bite out of her bread. When she was finished eating she continued. "It is, literally, a down-hill journey to Osgiliath, following the river. We will need all our strength."

Her nose wrinkled at the smell of the meat and she automatically pushed farther back from the fire before responding to Goldleaf. "Aye, do you have contacts that know we shall be joining them? If not I'm sure we could find some means of reaching them. I believe that our wounded shall simply need frequent breaks, not necessarily days of rest. An hour or so after every four of walking should do it," she said, her dry tone never changing.

"Story, eh? Hm... Well I could tell you about the time that I had an imp stow away on my ship. Most embarrassing." She smiles and absently plays with a curl, "We were at the Havens actually, and the little *beep* had been following our cargo - cotton bails. They enjoy undoing the bindings and spreading it everywhere before jumping ship and swimming back. I was still Captain for the Lighthouse then, so I had soldiers on board. The stupid little thing manages to actually hole the hold and we had to turn around and get back to Harbor." Smiling, "Its not much of a story, but I cannot think of anything else at the moment."

She laughed and could only imagine her fair friend's face creased with annoyance, "I'm sure that must have been very entertaining. Wish I'd been there," she added with a small chuckle. "Miss Goldleaf, did you ever confess your love to the man or does it remain unrequited?" She questioned casually, with a yawn at the end as if to punctuate the fact that it didn't have to be answered if it were to personal. She gave a stretch of her hands that remained covered by leather battle gloves and looked at the young woman awaiting an answer.

Goldleaf raised an eyebrow. "I told Boromir, and many times too," she said. "But obviously it was an unrequited love, he could never love me. Bloodshed and leadership were his callings; being tied down by some foolish girl who wanted a house and a family was not on his to-do list. But he was kind to me, and listened, and my confessions of love absolutely never drove him away from being a dear friend to me." She sighed.

She smiles gently at Goldleaf, "You miss, do not know that for a fact. Men are odd like that..." The fire plays in her thoughtful eyes. Blinking she sits up and takes the pot off the fire. She adds some salt and a few herbs. "Im afraid that I dont have bowls for everyone... So you can all help yourselves."

Goldleaf smiled. "He was too honour-bound by his duty to Gondor, to his people," she said. "But I would never have stopped him following that path. It was his." She spooned a small ammount of stew onto her bread. "I was dreaming only, and his death has woken me up. But do you know what?" She looked up. "I don't even know how he died."

Waiting for the girl to finish taking, "Dear I have some dried fruit and apples in my bag." She looks pointedly at Maeth, "I forgot your dislike for meat." She takes the spoon and takes a little stew, "Sometimes you want to be relieved of your hero duties," here she smiles, "I know that I did... And I am forever thankful to love of having taken me away."

Goldleaf took a bite of her bread. When she was finished, she sighed. "Boromir told me so himself that it could never be," she said grimly. "I remember his exact words. I was talking of marriage, going away someplace where no-one had any duties for us, no-one had to go to battle and save Middle Earth. He told me..." She smiled bitterly. "'It's a dream, Goldleaf. It belongs to someone else.'"

"Hmph. Im not very Impressed with this Prince of Gondor. I mean I admire him to the end for actually knowing that he couldnt and wouldnt run away from duty. But here was a pretty girl who gave him a chance to give it up! The drama, the tears!" She looks to Goldleaf to assure her that she's joking. "After this business its back to the ship. My pirates need me."

Goldleaf laughed. Finishing her bread, she dusted her hands. "When you speak of it so, it almost sounds funny. I, however, do know otherwise." She paused. "What do you mean, pirates? Not the mercanaries in league with Mordor. I doubt that very much. But what is it you do?"

Laughing, "I'm the captain of a pirate ship. Well technically my crew are pirates, so it is a pirate ship. But we do very little plundering and such. To the normal merchant that it." Looking into her soup, a wicked grin spreads on her face, "The Mercenaries consider us to be the fiercest ship on sailing at the moment. And I will not deny the thrill of chasing down the filth. If theres any slaves on board we free them and drop them off at first port with ten silver crowns and move on. Most of them become ship hands or work in the many Inns. I... I used to be a captain for the Elvish ships. But I have Mirthradir to thank for getting my crew and the Council to betray me."

"Mithrandir would never do something like that!" Goldleaf said. "Would he? What exactly is it that he did?" She was interested. What little she knew of Mithrandir was all good, and anything about him was of interest to her.
"We used to be very wary of pirates in Osgiliath," Goldleaf said. "We used to have a bit of a joke about it, actually. It sounds stupid but... Whenever we heard boats on the river, me or my sister Silverleaf would yell, 'it's pirates!' And the other would run out of the room screaming. It used to annoy our parents a lot."
