"Mithrandir said something which was rather two edged. It could have multiple meanings. He purposely left it that way after hinting at it wrongly and then promptly disappeared the next day. A week later they called me and humiliated me after stripping me of my position. I looked for Gandalf for a few months to show him a piece of my mind but the old man was in Minas Tirth at the time. With no ship, I contended myself with going to Imladris and staying with my uncle for a few weeks. I decided that I would show the Council of the Harbors that I did not need them. So I left and recruited this straggly bunch of pirates - who are all dears, may I add- and bought the grandest ship. A year into my piracy career and the Council was begging me to come back. I think that Ive turned them down at least four dozen times in the past ten years," laughing she finishes the food and turns to Goldleaf, "Mithrandir is not an epitome of goodness. None of us are. What he did to me was on purpose. I will not say why, but it was."

Goldleaf paused. "I'm sorry," she said finally. "I know that ships are extremely important to people of that trade. I cannot see why Mithrandir would do something like that. However, I will look for him in Minas Tirith, for I believe him to be there now."
She smiled. "Look at it this way. I have no home, no job, no family - and no husband. You have your ship and a faithful crew of pirates. It could be a lot worse."

She chuckled at the mention of mercenaries "in league with Mordor" and in her own cryptic addition said, "That'd be me and not Saira," she gave a quick wink to her friend who had already heard at least part of the tale. "Just fruit and bread Saira, the smell of meat is too reminiscent of battle, though I suppose that in itself should show how many I've taken part in. Oh, dear," she laughed, "my age is beginning to show," with that she decided to lounge comfortably on the forest floor and look up at the stars.

"By the way, how old are you two?" Goldleaf asked. "I'm 19 - and I suppose being Elven you're both a lot older than me. I can't imagine being immortal - living through all the ages and watching people be born then die. I simply can't."

She blinks a bit surprised by the question, "I've not been asked my age in years...truth be told lass, I can't remember. I well into my 5000's if that gives you an indication, but I may very well be in my 6000's now...I've lost track. When you get to be as old as I am age is only a number to fill unused space in your mind."

"6000's!" Goldleaf repeated, utterly amazed. "That's incredibly old! I've always found the Elven race interesting... their stories mainly. Mithrandir knew a lot of such matters... he used to tell stories to anyone who asked him. He once told a story called 'Beren and Luthien', I think. It was so beautiful."

Garsun had sat there the whole time and ate some of the meat and bread, getting crumbs all over his beard. The last bit he shoved in his mouth, causing his cheeks to puff out. And with his flattened helmet hair, crums in his beard, and licking gloved fingers, the dwarf looked a little comical.
When he swallowed his food he let our a deep sigh.
"Talk of ships and pirates, I know nothing of the matter. Only ships I've seen are dinghys from Lake Town. Now I'm 30, which is still young in dwarf reckoning. But we aren't immortal, but still live very long. Now, I think I've heard the tale of Beren and Luthien. Very sad, it is, and I prefer stories with happy endings. You know, the ones that end 'And they lived happily ever after'. Drama and tears aren't my thing. Fighting and forging are, with the luagh here and there," the dwarf said...

Rain was about to fall asleep with all of the stories when her stomach gave a very loud growl. With that she slowly got up, now being very stiff from laying against the tree, and came over to the fire. She kneeled by the fire, holding her stomach.
"Any food left for a hungry mercinary?" she said, with a faint frown...

"Plenty," Goldleaf answered. "We've got bread and stew, help yourself. And there's also some fruit, I think." She smiled. "Do you have any story to tell, Rain? Nearly everyone else has told one. We've had a strange tale from the Dwarf, a pathetic one of my own and also..." She gestured towards Sairahiniel, "I think she has told one."

Grinning at Maeth, "Im actually wondering too. I dont know my exact age... Younger than Maeth here... I'de like to say about 4000? 5000 at most. You tend to not keep track." She shrugs, "Im not complaining miss. I have it quite well. But I am no trader, and my ship is not really the important thing. I think that the thing I hold in highest honor is the respect that you give and get. My pirates are an interesting bunch however, definitely no complaints. But love... Love is a different matter." Smiling softly she stares into the fire, looking distant.
At Rain's arrival she nods, "Aye. There be, " Here she rummages through the pack and extract some fruit and a loaf of bread. "You can all help yourselves."

(I am very sorry that I have been unable to post. Last semester of this school year has been very hard. Although, after seeing all that you all have posted, I am wondering if someone can enlighten me rather than me reading everything.)

(THank you so much.)
Drogo sat in silence, mesmorized by the telling of all of the tales. He had always had a heart for 'tall tales' of the outside world. Although, in the Shire, that was rather kept fairly secretive.
Hearing the sound of food, Drogo snapped out of his trance and quickly looked towards the pot of stew. He could not believe he had sacrified all hobbit identity for stories of the outside world.
Set to reclaim some of his heritage, Drogo simply sulked out of the circle and crawled around the group as he stood up and reached into the pot of stew.

Smiling at the hobbit, "Im surprised you didnt come earlier Master Hobbit or are your injuries bothering you alot?" She looks slightly worried - she had always been fond of the little people with their love of simplicity and good-natured personalities.

"Injury," Drogo corrected as he looked out of the pot.
Returning to stand straight up from the floor, Drogo wiped his pants off and then presumed to politely asked, "Excuse me, but may I have a bowl and spoon please?"

Laughing, "If you dont mind using mine little Sir, then certainly." She hands him her own bowl and, after a quick rinse, her spoon. "Im surprised at the lack of you own."
