I don't mind crazy or different artists in the ESC. Heck there have always been crazy performances in the history of the ESC. All I ask is that the songs are good. The songs can be crazy but there should at least be a decent catchy melody underneath all the craziness (and annoying doesn't equal catchy lol).
I say yay for drag queens. We've had some in the Swedish national pre-selections over the years, they've all been great.
The contest has definitely changed and I can't say for the better. This year is the worst year in quite a while. The music is of extremely poor quality this year. It doesn't help that the Eastern European countries have basically invaded and taken over the contest either. Or that Germany, Spain, France and the UK get to be in the contest every year despite results. It's simply not fair.
Maybe it's time for a change within the contest. Make the semi-finals regional. That way there will be an equal amount of Scandinavian/Baltic songs, Western European songs, "Mediterranean" songs, Former "Yugoslav" songs and Eastern European songs. Say the 5 best from each region make up the final show or something.
Last year there were only 8 entries of the "old" Eurovision countries in the contest - the rest (16 entries) were Eastern European, Eurasian or Former Yugoslavic entries. It's not that I don't want them in the contest - quite the contrary - I just think the demographics should be a bit more... equal... so that all the cultural regions of Europe get the same chance!
*wishes it was 1990 and 1991 again*

What? But that's tomorrow?!!
Well, neither the Danish nor the Spanish entry - which I'm most biased towards - are among those.... when will the next semi-final round be?

Romania, Finland, Armenia had nice entries. Poland's chorus was nice but I can't stand the plastic singer. Bosnia's entry is really growing on me. At first I hated it, but I admit, it's quite entertaining.
Congratulations to Azerbaijan for making it to the Final on their very first appearance ever in the contest! They had an awesome stage show even if the song is lacking in the melody department.

^ XD That's weird Erumaro
Congratulations to all the countries who went on to the Final!!
My favorite songs of tonight's show were Sweden, Latvia, Switzerland and Iceland. I highly dislike our [Sweden's] singer, she is such a diva, but the song has a very catchy melodic chorus and in the end that's all that matters.
This will be the first contest since 2000 where all five Nordic countries are in the final together. Very nice!

I'm just watching Eurovision Contest on TV and I have to say that I loved the song from Armenia! Very bouncy!

Thank you for the list, Erumaro!!
I missed the Eurovision because we were going out...
Spains entry started out as a slightly political comic in a ntional late night show... then someone had the bright idea to enter it in the Eurovision and it was really heavily promoted on the show where it first occured. And since people could vote on the internet it ended up winning. AND then it got all 'serious' so they had to re-write the lyrics so there weren't any political references and add lyrics too because the original song was just about a minute...
I just saw the entry on YouTube and it's bad... I mean... it was fun as a joke on a late night show.. and I admit I can't get it out of my head when I hear the song, but it just didn't do in an international show like the ESC on a stage the size of a soccer field.. too bad...
