That seems kind of silly. If you truly like a driver, you will stay true to him no matter what he says or does. I for one do not think Hendrick Motorsports is this great evil empire that many fans believe it to be. Rick Hendrick has gone through a lot in life, from battling Leukemia, to losing many family members in a tragic plane crash. He got through those situations by relying on the Lord, even if he does not make that faith public. I for one find it much more appalling to support a cocky arrogant Busch, than drivers for Hendrick Motorsports.

Hmm, some of those numbers are the points that each driver acquired, and some are how many laps each driver completed. I am not sure what the last set of numbers represents though.

yeah NASCAR.com's results are hard to copy and the text is somewhat small....oh well. *did I mention how ticked I was that Tony got bumped out of contention for the lead?* :explode:

that's all I have to say. :annoyed:

road courses are hard for me to watch because they're so unpredictable.

Yeah, and it seems a little silly for stock cars to run on that form of track. Although I can understand why NASCAR would want them to.

I don't like road courses anyway. They're just too dangerous and I'm such a nervous wreck watching them. :confused2:

I don't much care for them either. It is so hard to pass that it makes the race all about strategy. :annoyed2:

It is the new car. Passing is next to impossible because everyone is even. About the only exciting races anymore are the restrictor plate ones.

which I've never figured out the differences between restrictor plate and non-restrictor plate races.

Well the difference lies in many areas. Obviously in restrictor plate races the cars are slowed down by a small plate that goes in the engine and reduces horsepower. Since the cars are traveling at reduced speeds, and since Daytona and Talladega have such steeply embanked, long corners, drivers can go wide open all the way around the track. Since all drivers are wide open at these tracks, the only way they can pass is to have a better engine, or use the draft. In the draft the first car displaces air which causes less air resistance to the following cars. This enables everyone else to be able to run in calmer air, which ultimately keeps the entire field together. This is why you see huge packs at Daytona and Talladega. Because of the draft such things as bump drafting and slingshot passes are able to be used to create an exciting race.

So the main difference in plate racing is that the draft is the deciding factor in who wins the race, not handling.

Sorry about yet another double post.

Well before I get too deeply involved in a discussion of the race, let me say Kurt Busch and those top seven cars played strategy extremely well. The rain only ended what was definitely going to be a Kurt Busch victory earlier than if it had held off. I truly believe Hamlin, Johnson, etc., would only have been able to get up to the top five, not all the way to Kurt. Having said all that, I am just slightly disappointed in the results of the race. Once again strategy bit Jimmie and Jeff, needless to say all the other front runners. I believe that the two of them had top five cars, but they just did not catch a break. Anyways I guess it is what it is.

Now for the shocker of the week. For the first time ever I agree with Kyle Busch. What Montoya did to Busch was completely uncalled for, and I hope that NASCAR takes some points away from him for it. I personally did not see anything Busch did that warranted him being spun out. I think Montoya is a spoiled idiot, who needs to go back to F1 racing.
