Nah, I don't see him missing the chase. I think the drivers in the top twelve now are going to be the ones in the chase. I mean looking through the guys just behind them you have Vickers, Ragan, Truex, and Harvick. Of those drivers I think Vickers and Ragan are too inconsistent to get there. Truex is going to be hurting after the inevitable Tuesday penalty that team will be getting. I see NASCAR docking him anywhere from 100 to 150 points. That leaves Harvick. I guess he could bump someone, but his performance has been off so I doubt it.
As far as Stewart staying at Gibbs, I personally think that if all he cares about is performance, he will stay; viewing all the rumors though it seems very unlikely. I read last week that he is going to buy into Haas racing and be sponsored by Office Depot. That rumor also had Ryan Newman joining him in that team with Burger King as the sponsor. Now obviously these are only rumblings, but as far as rumors go they seem pretty certain. However, even if that happens I never see his friendship with Zippadelli ending. They have been through too much to just stop being friends because they are on different teams.
I definitely do understand your pain about Stewart's season. It seems like Jeff and Jimmie are stuck in a similar sort of rut. If they can ever break out of the bad luck slump we will finally start seeing exciting races again.

Oh he'll probably be in the chase. But as far as him actually winning the Cup this year, I don't see that.
and I think I meant more "team-relationship" when I posted that about Tony and Zippy. They won't be on teh same team possibly and I think that may hurt Tony's performance.
on a bit of non-racing news: my sister, the woman who got me started on NASCAR, is engaged to a Jeff Gordon Fan. Let me tell you, this has been and will be a very interesting relationship.

Well you just never know.
Ah, I see. It very well could hurt Tony's performance, although I would be more worried about Haas putting forth quality equipment.
That is awesome. Tell her that I said congratulations. Haha, yeah I can imagine. I think that Sundays will be very interesting around their house.

they're already interesting.
I don't have an opportunity to post the results, so if you could do that for me I'd appreciate it as I'll be gone this week until Saturday.

Okay guys I am just letting you know that I am leaving AU. I want to thank the both of you for some awesome NASCAR discussions in the past. Even though we have had some intense fights over Toyota, Hendrick Motorsports, and all kinds of stuff, I have genuinely enjoyed talking to both of you. I have the utmost respect for each one of you as people, and I will definitely think of you guys when watching a race.
My final thoughts to you now are, go Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.

Bumping!
WOW. Jimmie Johnson winning at Indy and then Carl winning at Pocono
I'm really bummed about Kahne at Pocono though

I was rooting against Carl Edwards. I didn't get my hopes up for tony because I KNEW he wouldn't win. Just knew. glad I wasn't disappointed. Toyota didn't realy have a very good day outside of Stewart.

I found that funny too. It was like, "who's it going to be this time around?" and I was wishing that Carl would either suddenly get loose orrun out of gas the last two laps.

I was thinking the exact same thing I was reallllyyyyy that Edwards would've done something stupid so Tony could've won. Do you watch the Nationwide races?

I don't make a habit of watching the nationwide races. Only if there's nothing else on and I'm bored stiff. The last one in Montreal *last Saturday* was pathetic. They raced in the rain on rain tires. BORING!
