Wow, I forgot I had started this topic... that was back when I had no clue who Aerlinn was.
I still love Anberlin. After a full year, Paperthin Hymn has remained my favorite song of all time... which is saying something.

Nice revival of the thread. I know you've used some of their songs for your videos, Alta, so I wandered off to YouTube to listen to more.
I like The Unwinding Cable Car - mainly because of the title... Paperthin Hymn and A Whisper and a Clamor.. so yeah.... the more quiet songs....

for solos and instrumentals, i love "The Feel Good Drag," "Dismantle. Repair." and "*Fin"
for lyrics (actually, i love all of their songs for lyrics. that's what makes them so amazing), i especially love "Inevitable," "A Whisper and a Clamor," "*Fin"
etc....
anyone else SUPER AMAZINGLY EXCITED for New Surrender? I AM!!

That's not far off the mark, figuratively. I use that song to characterize one of my rpg characters.
I also love the music video for 'Paperthin Hymn'

Yay! The Fudge Muffin listens to yet another band that I like!
....'Reclusion' fits who? I can imagine it fitting Kendath, but is he who you had in mind, LDM?
And the music video for 'Paperthin Hymn' is definitely one of my favourite music videos. Ever. ^_^

Yes, Reindeer, I do love Anberlin. 'Reclusion' tops my song list at the moment. Might have something to do with our current situation in Crystal.
The lyrics for all their songs are amazing, though. Very profound.

Hah. So my guess was right.
Yeah, their lyrics are really profound. They're awesome. ^_^

Am I the only one who's being a terrible person and downloading the leak of New Surrender?
So far I'm liking it... I still have nine tracks to go before I can make up my mind though.

Well, I'm sticking to what they have on their MySpace for now. I'm going about this the legal way. Considering I got most of their songs from Cities from friends rather than through buying them... *coughs*

The way I see it, I'm going to buy the album when it actually comes out, so it all works in the end. It's like getting a free 30 day trial of something before you purchase it. XD

That's how I generally view it when I get music from friends before buying it. I'm not allowing myself this though 'cause it's not out yet. Gah! Just one more month! The new album comes out on my sister's birthday... she's pretty happy.

Congratulations on having self restraint. I'm sure it will pay off in the end.
So I've finished the album... It was good. Not fantastic, and certainly not the best I've heard from them. Retrace, the new version of The Feel Good Drag and Misearbile Visu (Ex Malo Bonum) are probably my favorites.

You're just trying to corrupt me.
Hmmm. We rarely agree on music, so I shall have to wait and see what I think of the new album.

Yep. Steal steal steal.
Again, it's not bad at all... just not as epic in some ways as my favorite songs by them. Like, nothing except possibly The Feel Good Drag came close to matching the awesomeness (imho) of songs like Godspeed, (*Fin)... etc.

So if I ever pull a car heist or something a few years from now I can blame it all on you...
Well, there can only be so many songs like "Godspeed" and "Fin," or else the world's awesomeness limit would be exceeded.
