I'll just run through them one by one:
For one worksheet I've finished them all except one problem:
0.02y - 2.6 = 0.82 (Answer: 172)
>>Add 2.6 to both sides.
>0.02y = 3.42
>>Divide both sides by .02
>y = 171
ANSWER: 171
Next worksheet...yay for word problems. (Sarcasm)
I have to do 1-15 questions but I've only been able to do about half of them...I'll post three to try and get an idea...
5 is what percent of 9? (Answer: 55 5/9%)
I Like to use ratios for these....
>>(x/100)=(5/9)
This says that x percent of 100 is equeal to 5 percent of 9.
This is what it really looks like:
Cross products:
>>100 x 5 = 500
>>9 x X = 9x
So... 9x=500
>>Divide by 9 on both sides
>500/9 or 55 and 5/9
40% of what number is 20? (Answer: 50)
Again.. ratios.
(40/100)=(20/x)
40 percent of 100 is equal to 20 percent of what number.
Actual look:
Cross Products.
>>100 x 20= 2000
>>40 x X= 40x
>40x=2000
Divide both sides by 40
>x=50
A parking meter contained 22 quarters and 18 dimes. The number of dimes is what percent of the number of quarters? (Answer: 81 9/11%)
Ratios:
>(x/100)=(18/22)
Says: What percent of 100 is equal to 18 percent of 22
Actual look:
Cross products:
>>100 x 18 = 1800
>>22 x X = 22x
>22x = 1800
Divide both sides by 22
>x = 1800/22 or 81 and 9/11
Then.. the computer was being mean to me.. so I had to make an image of them:
