I'll just run through them one by one:

For one worksheet I've finished them all except one problem:
0.02y - 2.6 = 0.82 (Answer: 172)
>>Add 2.6 to both sides.
>0.02y = 3.42
>>Divide both sides by .02
>y = 171
ANSWER: 171

Next worksheet...yay for word problems. (Sarcasm)

I have to do 1-15 questions but I've only been able to do about half of them...I'll post three to try and get an idea...

5 is what percent of 9? (Answer: 55 5/9%)
I Like to use ratios for these....
>>(x/100)=(5/9)
This says that x percent of 100 is equeal to 5 percent of 9.
This is what it really looks like:
Image
Cross products:
>>100 x 5 = 500
>>9 x X = 9x
So... 9x=500
>>Divide by 9 on both sides
>500/9 or 55 and 5/9

40% of what number is 20? (Answer: 50)
Again.. ratios.
(40/100)=(20/x)
40 percent of 100 is equal to 20 percent of what number.
Actual look:
Image
Cross Products.
>>100 x 20= 2000
>>40 x X= 40x
>40x=2000
Divide both sides by 40
>x=50

A parking meter contained 22 quarters and 18 dimes. The number of dimes is what percent of the number of quarters? (Answer: 81 9/11%)
Ratios:
>(x/100)=(18/22)
Says: What percent of 100 is equal to 18 percent of 22
Actual look:
Image
Cross products:
>>100 x 18 = 1800
>>22 x X = 22x
>22x = 1800
Divide both sides by 22
>x = 1800/22 or 81 and 9/11

Then.. the computer was being mean to me.. so I had to make an image of them:

Oooh thank you SOOO much!!! That's so helpful!!! I actually really get it! Thank you! hehe *hugs*

Okay...Perfecto...Last three worksheets...Look pretty easy but...still have no idea what I'm doing...I guess I'll post two questions from each of them...

First worsheet: Exponent Properties

x4(little four in corner) . (Move it up a bit...the mulitplication symbol) m6 (Small six) (Answer: m10(small ten))

(-2abc) (4a2*small2*bc4*small4*) (Answer: -8a3*small*b2*small*c5*small*)

Hope that makes sense, I'm not sure how to draw math on the computer. :P

Next...Powers of Powers and of Products:

(y4*small*)3*small* (Answer: y12*small*)

(5ab)2*small*(a4*small*b)2*small*(ab6*small*) (Answer: 25a11*small*b10*small*)

Hope that makes sense...Last one...Simplifying Polynomials.

2 + 7a2*small* - 3a + 5a2*small* - 6a - 7
(Answer: 12a2*small* - 9a - 5

6x5*small* - 4x3*small* + x4*small* - 6x6*small*
(Answer: -6x6*small* + 6x5*small* + x4*small* - 4x3*small*)

Thanks guys...that's all my math for now...YAY. :D

Alright.. I will work on those. Just to tell you, exponent form looks like this on the computer: x^5 (with 5 being the exponent)

I really like it. It is amazing how much you remember, and I will probably be asking questions next year. Although, it is going to be pretty abonded during the summer.

Yes, this is true. Hopefully we'll be able to revive it again once people go back to school.

I guess I'll help revive it! :D

I'm taking an Advanced Math class and right now we are reviewing some stuff but they go so fast over it that basically if you forget something...you're in trouble...I forgot how to do the parabola! Can anyone help me??? Thanks. :) <3

Well, I'm not quite sure what you want to remember. Parabolas are x^2 functions

A parabola at the origin is just y=x^2
To move it up or down the y axis, you have y=x^2 (+ or -) some number. [y=x^2 +3]

To move it right on the x axis, you would put y=(x-4)^2 [or whatever number]. Moving left sure would +.

The number in front [y=2x^2] is the size of the opening. The larger the number, the narrower the parabola.

Blah. I hated the moving the parabula stuff. Now, that I am taking Calc, I can see that it doesn't really matter, except for the grade. :P

Parabula: X^2, that is right. ;)

Yeah, I loved how useless half this stuff became once I started Calc. Not to mention I never use my graphing calculator anymore hardly.
