No, it isn't at all, I saw it yesterday and so many things were changed and crucial things cut out that I was about to die. Honestly, in the movie the dwarves aren't even explained, or their link with the Varden. Then there's the thirty man 'battle' in the mountain, while Eragon and Durza on a stupid black dragon battle it out. The ending also sucked to the extreme.

In reference to Witchie's thirty man battle, I had to agree. I was sorely disappointed by it. My friend said it was funny when they called for archers and two guys with crossbows showed up.

As for the ending, Dark, it was really terrible. Basically Eragon meets Arya as she is leaving and then we cut into where Galbatorix is and he flies off the handle, takes his sword, tears at the giant map of Alagaesia, where his dragon, Shruikan, roars and breathes fire.

I found the reason why the script was terrible. Anyone remember Jurassic Park III? Yeah, the same guy who wrote the script for that movie wrote the script for Eragon. I also found the reason why the visual effects were good. The guy who directed Eragon worked as a visual effect director on Saving Private Ryan, The Bourne Identity, and Master and Commander, among others.

Exactly, the ending was also completely innacurate. Did it irk anyone else that all of the major characters in the Varden, save Ajihad, went basically unmentioned?

it irked me imensely, im sort of wondering why they did what they did, why not let some kid write it, i probably would of turned out better, with a Katrina and an unconscious Arya and a Saphira that had NORMAL WINGS WITHOUT FEATHERS!!!! ...im ok i promise..

In my opinion the things that could have most improved it would be better screenwriting, an unconcious Arya, Katrina, and some better developed characters. Brom is the only character who's really developed much, and I think that's mostly because Jeremy Irons did such an amazing job with him.

All in all, that movie could've been at least an hour longer.

I agree, it should have been longer. MUCH longer.

Like Return of the King long, when it was over I was a little dazed at how short it was.

I liked it, but I was a little disappointed. For one thing, they didn't have Arya look anything like the description in the book....and I agree that it should have been A LOT longer. It was WAY too short. :( Concerning the characters: Yep, they hardly developed them at all, quite unlike LotR. If you hadn't read the book, I doubt if the movie would have made much sense. It just jumped around all over the place and didn't put in enough detail to make you feel like you're a part of the story. Also, they cut out too many important things included in the book. Where was Katrina? And Solembum (sp?) Angela's werecat? Murtagh was supposed to meet Brom. And in the book, there was a lot about Eragon learning the elvish language, the language of magic. They hardly included any of that....I was disappointed. :(

I just bought the song "Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne, and I love it sooo much! Its really beautiful and moving. I love it! :) Does anyone else like the song? I think it fits the movie pretty good too.

I've heard it on the radio a couple times... the movies doesn't deserve to have her singing for it, IMHO
