Not only would it not fit - it'd be blasphemy!
I was thinking, does the Fountain of Youth necessarily have to mean becoming younger than your current age if you drink from its waters? Couldn't it also mean that you'll have eternal life - staying the way you are forever and never growing old? Or maybe it's called Fountain of Youth for a reason, eh. Yeah, I'll just shut up now

See, sometimes people like fluffy movies. I enjoy a movie now and again that isn't of epic proportions, that I can just sit back and relax over a mug of hot choclate with. CotBP was that. It was a good story and it ended. It could have easily ended right there. But for some reason they felt a need to make another. And another. I was watching Blackbeard's Ghost (old live action Disney) a while back. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's a rather predictable comedy. It's enjoyable. The ghost of Blackbeard helps take down the town menace and help the school track team win a match. And here's the beauty of it: Disney didn't make a sequel. They did not feel the need to then explain what happened to the track team the next year or how the bad guy tried to get even. NO. They ENDED it. WHY can't people do that anymore?
*jumps up and down and worships*
That is EXACTLY how I feel. The first CotBP was funny, entertaining, beautifully done, and in all ways wonderful, but not epic, and NOT needing a sequel. It's story had a perfect balance and ambiguity, as you said, a lightness--the sort of let's-have-fun-and-laugh sort of movie.
The sequel was horrible. And the third movie was okay, and the epic-ness worked for a bit in there. But everything felt so unneccessary. Watching either of the sequels makes me just want to pop in the original and enjoy Pirates as it should be.
That said--if they are making a fourth movie (which is RIDICULOUS) I'm not totally opposed to it. They already made sequels, what more harm can they do? Jack will always be entertaining.
But Zac Efron=FAIL. I like HSM a bit, but it's because of it's ridiculous, sparkly, Dinseyfied fluffiness that it is what it is. Fluffysparkledisney /=/ Pirates.

Dear Father Christmas,
I would be most grateful if you could possibly see to it that Russell Brand gets eaten by a shark, stranded on a desert island which is then sunk, or locked in a box and forced to eat olives all day so he can NOT be in POTC 4 as Jack Sparrow's brother.
Hope you have a good year! JF

HAHA! I heard about that. Personaly I don't know the actor so I have no feelings either way on the subject.
But I think bring Jack's brother into it isn't the best move story-wise.

Oh, my word. I hate that man. He is a foul-mouthed, over-rated, so-called comedian who is crude and lewd and just... filthy... and he looks like he has never washed. Apparently he is conquering the international film world so you guys may have seen him, or if you haven't you will do.
He is worse than Zac Efron, believe me.
And to be honest, Disney would have to think carefully about hiring someone who has so many scandals to his name, professionally (there's a huge hum-dinger going on in the UK right now you wouldn't believe) and privately, if he is to be in a Disney film which is family orientated.

Well he'll become cheap then. No make up crew needed.
To me Pirates of the Caribbean ended with the third one. This fourthone is just dome freakins side show. I will see it. I probably will not obsess over it. In my opinion making a fourth movie is just not very tasteful. Actually I am a little disappointed that Johnny Depp decided to do it.

I think the guy being considered (or already cast) for Depp's brother definently looks like he could be related to him. I don't know how it's going to work (I hope they don't clash), but I'm curious and not four square against it.
I just hope he has his own unique character and doesn't come off as a Jack Sparrow wannabe.

Well he has the hair and the accent already, but knowing that Russell Brand plays Russell Brand, they will clash as he is totally all over he place and hard to control, so they won't compliment each other.

Now I'm scared again...
Why must they do that. Why.
Jax, I really don't want to know what the world is coming to, either.

That is the question... And I don't what it is with the three part movies anyways. It worked spledidly with Lord of the Rings since it was three books. It makes sense. But why make three pirate movies? And now fourth? *sigh* I am way too irritated to think clearly.

Well, hopefully he'll be surprising. I'm not actually familiar with his comedy show.
