^ Oh I know. I wonder about shows/movies set in "high school"... mine certainly wasn't like that. I'm not sure many are. That's just scary. It looks more like a middle school than high school, what with all the freaking drama.

Hahha my thoughts exactly... the schools in Canada are definitely not that uhhhh... extreme?
No offense intended to your favourite films and all, but I absolutely hate HSM

No offense, but this movie represents pure stupidy. Really, I mean, what was the sense behind it? Can't believe I wasted almost ten minutes watching this. It is just as Hannah Montanna and the suit life of Zack and Cody...stupid, boring, senseless and the worst singing ever!!!!

Trust me, no one breaks out into random song and dance routines in the middle of the school day, as funny as it would be.

Unless you go to my school. I've gotten stuck in the middle of some kind of break dance contest a few times. xD
Anyway... HSM makes me want to cry. I would really like it if someone could explain to me why bad singing/acting/everything is so popular.

Not a fan,but it was a harmlessly sweet movie. With all the trash out today,I thought it was very refreshing.
I love the song "Breaking Free".

HSM is so cheesy/unrealistic, but I like some of the songs from it... like the baseball song from HSM2. I feel kinda embarrassed, but hey.
Edit: I saw the trailer for it tonight when I saw Mamma Mia.
Holy crap.
We're going to interrupt a basketball game to sing to each other...
 Sorry

'Bet On It' is a cool song. Other than that, though...um...excuse me while I go vomit. The cheese...the cheese...
I guess it's better then other stuff out there for younger kids, though. (I mean, if I had young children, I'd rather have them watch HSM&company than oh, I don't know, CSI?)
But I don't like the series because it seems to promote the ideas that popularity is a major goal to strive for, preppy clothing and only preppy clothing is acceptable to wear, and the quality of music is irrelevant as long as all the 'cool' kids listen to it.
...Or maybe that's just me reading too far into it.
What really freaks me out is how people my age (Juniors in high school!) actually practically worship HSM and other Disney Channel related junk. I mean... wow. It's a bit crazy when all your peers are all like "wth, lyke, how can u n0t love hsm it is so c00l!!!!1111111111111"
Um, yeah. My two cents. *Steps off soapbox and wishes Disney could get back to the days of good, epic, animation*
-ETA-
I feel the need to clarify that we don't mean any disrespect towards the origanal poster. If you really like HSM, that's cool.

^I agree, Lethy, with almost all that you said.
I have come to the conclusion and I freely admit that HSM is ok in it's place. As far as being the greatest thing ever like Disney, the critics ect ect seem to think, I do NOT agree with by any means. It's just as cheesy and predictable as many of the other Disney Channel shows/movies. But, hey, you're right, I'd rather have my kids (ahem, if I had any ) watching stuff like that than the more violent, or teen/adult things. Just so long as they didn't start worshiping or the actors it like so many do, that is. THAT'S when it starts to get insane and stupid and annoying. I can understand fandom, but some of this HSM stuff gets taken way to far (which is part of the reason I don't like it) I mean, when there is so much stuff to buy out for something so you could practically never see anything BUT that certain thing, there's a problem (HSM and Hannah Montana are two Disney things that come to mind ), but to a certain degree, I admit I don't mind either (except Miley Cyrus) and I even used to enjoy watching both of them til they got blown out of proportion and ridiculous. Still, you gotta have some fluffy, fun and a way to escape reality in life. And as TT said somewhere else, the tunes are catchy even if their singers have lost luster in my eyes. So yeah. That's the down-to-earth PD truth. I like HSM well enough, tis ok in it's place, it was a cute idea, it should never have been blown (undeservingly, IMO) to the proportions it has been though, the actors should have stayed... er, more grounded, and Disney should know when to stop even with a good idea. That's PD's thoughts in a nutshell.
however, anyone who likes it, if that's your cup of tea, go ahead and like it! I don't mean to stop anyone in their fandom.
