Ah, ok, just as well that it wasn't required reading for you...
I recently read...let's see, "Beware, Princess Elizabeth" (good, but a little boring), "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" (funny but a little insipid!), and "The Golden Compass" (His Dark Materials book 1; didn't think much of it, it was kind of strange, I didn't like any of the characters much, and I only felt a very mild curiosity to know what happens in the later books...although I don't see why some people really DISlike it either). Got to start something else soon...

I just read "Street Magic". It wasn't bad.

Was that by Tamora Pierce? Sounds familiar...
Anyway, I'm reading "Sanditon and Other Stories" by Jane Austen (I love the story "The Watsons"; I wish she had finished it) and "A Break with Charity" by Ann Rinaldi.

I've read all of them. confusing and a bit unusual, but pretty good. The Subtle Knife is my favorite in the series.
I am currently starting on Terry Brooks for the first time with The Sword of Shannara

Hello everyone:), right now I am finishing up "The Silmarillion" and "Pride and Prejudice". I may take up "Around the World in 80 Days" by Jules Verne next.

Hmmm...I too read "Beware, Princess Elizabeth" and it dragged a little bit too slowly for my taste, and so did "The Golden Compass". (I only made it through the 2nd chapter on that one.)
Oh and I have just finished reading "A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Penultimate Peril", the newest book in the series. (It just came out on Tuesday.)
Tis very good!

I just finished "Shatterglass" (Tamora Pierce) and before that I read "Magic or Madness" by Justine Larbalestier. It was kind of weird - I doubt I'll be reading any sequels, but it had a very amusing author's note, and the differences between Australian and American English that were highlighted in it were interesting...

I just read and finished A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels (second book) by Libba Bray. They were some of the best books I've ever read, I loved the characters, and I'm dying for the next one to come out.

Btw, I had no idea there was going to be a third one, any idea of what it is called?

I'm reading "Ordeal by Innocence" by Agatha Christie. I sort of just want to get to the end and find out whodunit, but it is alright as a book...

Reading "The Great Gatsby" for school - it's actually pretty good! Not too much of the whole "Hey, you, look here, this is symbolism, got it?" writing style, thank goodness.
