I'm sure all of you know that ROTK is 5 years old today. I didn't get to see the film in theaters, but I saw it in 2004 or 2005 so I love it like I did see it in the theater. So, watch ROTK if you can, celebrate and bake some lembas!

doesn't really seem that long ago that I was really upset that I couldn't see it in theaters. I'm going to try to watch the movies backwards starting with ROTK tonight, lol.

My god, five years?! I just can't believe that... it seems so long ago.
Gah, most of that post describes me, but we didn't go to see it that Thursday... but I was crying like you wouldn't believe! Both in happiness that Sauron had finally been defeated [hadn't read teh books before I saw it, so yeah, came as a surprise to me ] and I was sad that the Trilogy was finally over - there would be no more movies. Ever.
Ha ha, and once all the movies were released, I bought them and in the summer watched every one day after day after day... talk about obsession.

I cried a lot too...and I will almost swear that my dad was crying too. Now he watches LOTR with me almost everytime I pop them in. Got him to read the books too.

Oh my gosh me too. Every summer I would watch the extended versions, first just FotR when it was out, the FotR and TTT and then all three of them... My discs are worn down, but right now they are getting dusty >< I needs to watch them precious... yes yes

(so I'm 1 day late... )
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROTK!!!
Oh, my gosh... I remember that day so well. We didn't go see the movie that day, but still. The whole day I was like "Uhm, The Return of the King is in theaters today *coughcoughhinthint*". We ended up seeing it 10 days later... but wow... The 17th of December is an historic day.

Wow... ( I know everyone said that but.... wow!)
I had no idea it had been five years!!! O_o That's nearly as long as I have been on the forum, but now that I think of it I did join the forum not long after watching ROTK
For me ROTK is special because it was the only one that I got to see in theaters and it was the main theater still and it was huge and was a totaly awasome experience!!!

I can't believe it's been five years either! December 2003 seemed SO incredibly far away when I saw the teaser trailer back in 2000 (or whenever it was). I never thought we'd get there and here we are five years after its release. Crazy.
We're having our 7th Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Marathon tomorrow. Will be a great way of celebrating the anniversary
