AU's been very slow over the past several days for me. It takes forever for the pages to come up, and a lot of times they won't come up at all; instead, I just get this nice, shiny... blank white page. It's the worst on threads that have a lot of pages in them, and the index, but the ones that have only a couple pages are mostly fine. Then, after a while, it'll suddenly speed up and I won't have that problem. Also, it tried the PM trick - "(65553 new)" on me recently. It was kinda creepy, but it gave me a good laugh.

For most of December, the site was working great. Now it's back to being ridiculously slow to load (and we've got high-speed internet), and sometimes pages don't load, and I'll refresh, and refresh again, and so on, and it doesn't do anything. I have to go back a page and click on the link again.
Raaaaaaaawwwwwwwr!
ETA: I also saw this, saying the last post in the movies/tv section was on:
Quote: Wed Dec 31, 1969 6:00 pm
I've seen that before. ????

It's doing that thing that says Wed. Dec 31 1969... which is absolutely weird.. I think I've figured that out. It says Wed. Dec 31 1969 when the most recent post has been deleted. And so for some reason instead of going to the second most recent post before that it chooses to say 1969. It's like a default for the system for some reason. At least, that's what I've observed.
Really? But what about the times when you get the Error page right after you've made a post? I never know if it's actually posted and then I have to go back and check, and usually it's been posted two or three times, depending on how many times I had to refresh the page. I mean I kinda have to delete my double posts otherwise they would just add to the pressure on the system...

The "1969" bit comes up when you try to delete a post and AU goes crazy. Sometimes you delete without a problem, sometimes you get the White Page of Death and then the thread disappears.
The "Error" message comes up when you have a post at the very end of a page. For some reason, a new page will appear even though there are no posts on it. So if you get that page, you posted but it's just at the end of the previous page.
