Delena's looking up, based on gorgeous recent episodes (like the one from yesterday), and if you're looking for Delena to happen, they're as close as they've ever been. I've always thought that the acting was very well done, except for occasional Elena moments. You're right; Damon seriously makes everything better in a bad, bad way.

I think I must be the only fan of the show that cares about Stefan & Elena as a couple. Everyone seems content to have Elena cheat on him with Damon and it's okay because 'he's hot'

You're making some strong assumptions there. There are plenty of Stelena fans out there, although the immature Delena fans make it seem like there are many more Delena fans. And as for only liking Delena because Ian is beautiful, there are plenty of those fans out there,too. I'll be the first to admit that I was drawn to Damon because Ian is so good looking, but his character has developed so much further than I ever hoped it would.

I am a Delena fan because I so desperately want Damon to be happy. He's starting to get better because of Elena's influence in his life, and she's starting to realize how much he means to her. Sure, Damon's an idiot a lot of the time. Sure, Stefan and Elena mean so much to each other. But they currently are not a couple, and although Elena is nowhere near ready to be in a relationship with Damon, she's going to have to deal with her feelings for him someday. The past few episodes have proved it.

Strong assumptions about what? That I was in the minority? I am in the minority because I'm neither a Delena or Stelena shipper in that sense. I'm actually pretty neutral.

I'm going off all my personal experiences with fans of the show, people I used to be friends with so forgive me if I came across as accusatory, that wasn't my intent.

My problem is that Stefan and Elena seem to be glossed over by 'certain' portions of the show/books fandom simply because they think Delena make a hotter couple in the purely physical sense. Stefan and Elena's love..yes love. Should never be glossed over or pushed aside like it doesn't matter. No, there not technically a couple at the current time but the end of this weeks episode proved that she still loved Stefan deeply. She was willing to run into the tomb, risk the wrath of a pissed off and slightly less hungry Katherine to save him. If that's not love then I don't know what is.

I don't deny there's chemistry there between Elena & Damon but I do not think that the already built up relationship and love between Stefan & Elena should be cast aside so easily. It makes Damon look like a douche...sorry an even bigger douche and Elena like a *beep*, which this series has went out of it's way to not let happen unlike the books where Elena is a horrid little madam.

As someone who watches this series as a guilty pleasure (except without the guilt), I absolutely want to see Delena happen. She can end up with Stefan if it's better for character development, but I at least want to see a love triangle and some smoldering, REAL Delena kissing. Would I support their getting together in real life? Of course not. But this is fake life, so it doesn't really bother me

Alternately, it would be really sweet if Damon continued to love Elena in secret without homewrecking Stelena. And he, like, sacrified himself for her or something. I don't know, I haven't read the books. As long as they acknowledge their feelings for each other in an angsty, dramatic moment.

Well, you said that everyone wants Elena to cheat on Stefan and that fans like Delena only because Damon's so gorgeous. I know you didn't mean it that strongly, but I wanted to clarify why I support Delena.

I do completely agree with you on your points about Stelena, Raivynn. I appreciate that their relationship is really love, not just physical attraction. It matters very much to the story and I don't want Delena just to suddenly be together to please the fans. AKA me. If Delena is ever going to happen, I want it to be natural, in a time when Elena is uncertain about her feelings for Stefan. She still loves him very much and I don't want the writers to bring in Delena full-force. Sure, I want little teasings and hints (like the STUNNING "Don't ever do that again" Delena scene last episode), but what Stelena has needs to be honored.

You stole the words out of my mouth, LDM. In real life, they'd be so, so wrong. In a TV show, perfection. This is why we watch television! I still don't know how I want Delena to work out. I'm thinking a "Damon saves Elena and dies for her" moment would be so lovely....but I want him to live. Whenever they DO admit their mutual feelings, it can't be gushy. It needs to be bittersweet and heartbreaking.

I said it seemed that way based on my own personal experiences. I wasn't meaning to tar you with that brush. I've just had a lot and I mean a LOT of negative reactions from Delena fans because -le gasp- I don't think they should be together just because and I certainly don't want Elena to jump from one brother to the next metaphorically as well as physically. It's like how dare I want them to be happy it's all about Delena dammit.

I'm really not taking this out on you, merely venting my own frustration regarding a certain portion of the shows fans who simply want something because it's aesthetically pleasing to them and to hell with the genuine love that Stefan & Elena have for each other. To see that dismissed so openly by some people frustrates and annoys me.

I honestly don't see Elena as having any feelings for Damon beyond platonic. She does not find him entirely trustworthy and that is no basis for any relationship...and gawd Im coming off as some pathetic, whiny Stelena shipper and I'm really not. I ship other characters on the show and generally dislike triangles it never makes anyone look good.

Raivynn, I totally understand where you're coming from. Immature Delena fans drive me crazy, too. If they're going to get together, it should not be because "he's so hawt!!!!" It should be because she honestly feels something for him and has come to a place where she can trust him completely. And she's not there yet because Damon has messed up so many times. Their chemistry is gorgeous, and I repeatedly die every scene that they're together. But that doesn't mean that a relationship would be good at the moment. Besides, I like this unresolved tension.

I know there's a poll on the Vampire Diaries facebook group that says, "Will Damon and Elena finally hook up in 2x11?" I had to vote "No" because I'm realistic and think it would just ruin Elena's character. Other fans went (copy and pasted), "I do to, Elena and Damon belong together. Seeing the previews for next week, looks like Stephan is gonna be gettin' it on with Catherine, so why not?" Ermmmmm......yeah. Intelligent, much? Even though I admit that I would like to see some Stefan/Katherine action, I sadly doubt that that scene is real. It's most likely Katherine planting a dream in Stefan. I just can't see him doing that.

So, Tyler/Caroline, anyone? I'm really REALLY loving Tyler right now. He's so scared! And it's so precious to see how Caroline is helping him through this entire thing. Even though she knows he could hurt her when he turns, she's not afraid of him and honestly cares about him. Awwwww.

nooooooo I've stated Im on the Tyler/Caroline ship but I am torn because I loved Caroline/Matt so very much. I'm just loving Caroline so much as a character right now. She's matured so much yet still retained some of the things that make her Caroline.

I am admittedly curious as to why the show has never brought in Meredith. She was Elena's BFF in the books so it seems weird that they never brought her in.

I'm pretty flighty when it comes to some of my ships. I loved Caroline/Matt, and as soon as Tyler changed (literally), I suddenly saw how much potential he had with Caroline. I've pretty much abandoned poor Matt. *pats him* I liked Stefan/Caroline for a tiny bit, and now I'm a little on Stefan/Katherine ship. It just depends on the episode for me.

I skimmed the books a while back and I remember something about Meredith. Did she bring anything vital to the show besides being a good friend?

Hmm I don't see Stefan/Caroline or Stefan/Katherine. Could you maybe point me to the episodes where this happens? I'm starting to ship Damon/Katherine though because they're so much alike. I haven't given up thinking Katherine's still capable of redemption.

Also, I'm not sure about Delena anymore. I'm catching up on previous episodes, just watched the one where Damon kills Elena's brother. No, not okay. Especially since he didn't know about the ring? I'm interested in seeing how they fix their relationship after that, since if I were Elena, I'd never forgive him.

Well, Stefan/Caroline have a really sweet friendship once something drastic happens to her (I won't tell you because I don't know if you've gotten there yet), and they have a lot of fun together. They're just cute to watch. Stefan/Katherine...well, you'll have to see them in later episodes. She still loves him, even though she doesn't show it well, and Stefan obviously has some sort of confused feelings about her from the past. I don't ship them, but I'm interested in seeing where their story goes. I think you'll like the episode called "Katarina." It really shows why Katherine is the way she is, and you see a bit of humanity in her.

I know, everyone hates that Delena scene. It's quite messed up, but Damon is really working to redeem himself, and Elena is finally starting to accept him again. They aren't really friends yet, but Damon's feelings have grown towards her and I honestly believe he'll never do anything like that again.

I finally see Stefan/Katherine! And yes you're right, they ARE interesting to watch. Poor Damon. He's always the third wheel, in the end. Though I'm glad Elena hasn't forgiven him yet

I still have no idea where I stand with Stefan/Katherine. I don't know whether to hate them or love them. Damon....*sighs* I'm actually happy that he's found comfort with Rose, and I'm also thrilled that he's so worried about her and that werewolf bite. The old Damon wouldn't have cared a bit if one of his many lovers was in danger of dying, but he's so worried about her! That's what really shows me that he's changing. And I can't wait for the day when he FINALLY deserves a girl like Elena.

Yup, I'm a completely Tyler/Caroline shipper now. That scene with Tyler's transformation almost brought me to tears. To see such a beautiful man sobbing, "It hurts!" just broke me down. And Caroline was brilliant with him. She was tender, stubborn, and felt his pain. Gosh, I'm getting all sappy thinking about it.

CAROLINE. CAROLINE IS MY FAVOURITE FOREVER. Honestly, she just. I mean. How can she be adorable and heart-breaking and fierce and crazy and awesome all at the same time?

And this episode just reiterated everything that I love so much about Stefan; he's up on your problems but he never invades your personal space. He knows when to push and when to back off and how to respect you while still trying to help you, and he knew just what Caroline needed. And he looked so proud of her. So proud.

I know!! Caroline completely blew me away this past episode. I only wish that Tyler would have stood up for her and valued his friendship with her more. I mean, she risked her life to help him through his transformation. He could have at least tried to talk Jules out of it! Oh well. Their kiss was brilliant times a billion, so I'm thrilled with that.

Damon. Can I just tell you all once again how much I love this man? He's ripped my heart out these past few episodes. The dream he gave Rose, how he cried when he killed her, how he DESPERATELY wants to be human and make Elena happy.... I'm so happy that he's finally voicing his internal struggle about his feelings for Elena. He loves her so much, but he can't ever be the man she needs him to be. *sniffles*

I was actually shipping Stefan/Caroline this past episode, Minuial! The way that he was so protective of her and knew exactly what she needed....major chemistry there in my opinion. I know you don't see it that way, but I just thought I'd mention in.
