“I would greatly like to camp with you. I haven’t lain down for several days,” said Linnadhiel, graciously accepting the offer. She also mounted Alata. “Thank you, Nostariel. You are most kind.” She smiled, but the ghost of Nostariel’s misery lingered on her face. She sighed and looked down.

How could it hurt so much? Nostariel caught Linnadhiel looking at her and pasted on what she hoped was a ginuine smile.
Narylfiel tossed her head restlessly. Patting the mare on her neck, Nostariel waited for the others to mount up before spurring the grey into a canter. Grief was a luxury she could not afford, it must wait. Glancing over her shoulder, she caught site of Eleniel; she loved the young elf like a sister and like a sister Eleniel usually could tell what she was thinking.
You can't fool me, Eleniel spoke with her eyes. Swiftly, Nostariel kicked Narylfiel into and all out run before anyone could see the tears trailing down her cheeks.

Nostariel galloped on her horse, and Linnadhiel followed swiftly, whispering to Alata to "Run faster than the wind could carry us". She caught the look between the younger looking elf and Nostariel, and looked away immediately. It was clear that they were communicating without words. Pushing Ihis image out of her mind, she urged on Alata. She said prayers to Ruscien's (sp?) spirit.

They reached the camp just as the sun was setting and all four of the elves breathed a sigh of relief. After taking csre of their mounts, they sat around the small fire cooking supper.

(Why does this remind me of Hobbits?)

The crackling fire was very comforting. Linnadhiel warmed her hands close to the flame, but the fingerless, material gloves she was wearing were in danger of catching fire. She contemplated. She only really hid her strange, swirling markings from those that would judge her. And she took them off. They reflected the full moon's light, although this was hard to notice in the fire light. She looked around at the others, checking their faces for surprise, fear, or doubt.

Naerwen peered ahead of her. She could see four figures sitting around a camp fire. Leaning into Albus' neck she whispered to him softly. "Noro lim Albus!" The horse spurred on and soon she was close to the four figures. As she got closer she could see they were a band of elves. They must be members of King Aragorn's troops...But just in case..., she thought pulling a dagger from her boot. She had heard whispers of traitors amongst her own kind.

(I'm staying with my fiance this weekend, but i'll try to get on as often as I can )

(Sorry I didn't get here sooner, I was in chat with some pals of mine. We just finished a group fanfic and we were going throught the editing proccess. I think my brain just exploded.)

Nostariel stared unseeing into the flames as they licked at the dry tinder. She replayed every moment she had spent with Ruscien, trying to find even a hint of betrayal in his actions, but all she could think of was how tender he had been. He had been so shy when he had first asked her to join him in a walk around the gardens in a hidden glade of Mirkwood Forest. Those walks had become something more than an excursion to her, it was a time of wonder and discovery. She had never felt the tingling sensation in her heart before until he held her hand for the first time. She had known that she loved him before he had expressed his wishes to wed her and she had rejoiced in the rush of emotions that flooded his beautiful brown eyes when she said yes. True, she had known it was her father's wish as well as her Aunt and Uncle's to see Ruscien and herself as husband and wife, but when he had returned from his warrior training in Lothlorien she had lost her heart to the young and handsome elf. He was perfect in every way save pride for he had none in himself.
Nothing, not even a hint of treachery could she find in those memories.

Suddenly, the crickets stopped chirruping and she shook herself out of her thoughts. Cursing herself for a fool, she motioned for the others to get out of sight. She drew back her bow and fitted an arrow to the string...and waited.

Raelyn got down and pointed her arrow out into the forest and waited for something to shoot at. she watched her friend and waited for their signal.
(sorry for the short post gotta get caught up)

From her position behind a tree trunk, Nostariel heard a rustling in the grass. Glancing to her right, she could just see a darker shadow that had to be Raelyn. To her left behind a bush she could see Eleniel and Linnadhiel crouched low to the ground, weapons ready.

Linnadhiel leapt into the bushes at the wave of Nostariel's hand. She crouched next to Eleniel, readying her bow. She carefully got up onto her knees, keeping her head down, cursing herself for forgetting a cloak. She also kept the colourful tail of her arrow hidden. The sudden colour in the dark, especially the bright yellow, would show easily. She cursed herself again for being as stupid to choose such ridiculously coloured arrows.

Naerwen dropped down from her white steed. Gently, she patted his flank and sent him off to graise in the fields. She glanced back at the four elves, biting her lip nervously. Silently she walked, careful not to step on a branch or leaf that would draw attention to her whereabouts. Just as she thought it she stepped on a branch. She gasped and looked down cursing her clumsiness. Her eyes looked back up to find that the four elves had disappeared.

A flicker of movement caught Nostariel's eye before it disappeared again.
Who or what could it be? It cannot be an orc, too quiet for that; nor a man.
She was left with only three possibilities: a hobbit, a dwarf, or an elf.

Taking a deep breath she stepped out behind a tree, her eyes darting around nervously. "My name is Naerwen Dorthonion. I am one of King Aragorn's guards, sent out to destroy the remaining orcs. Show yourselves." she commanded, her dagger weighing heavily in her hand. Ready for any attack.

Appearance: Short for an elf, but with bright green eyes and pale skin. Her hair is long, unyielding and black. She wears mostly dark colours and only her mother's ring around her neck for jewlery.
Weapons: A treasured black longbow with gold markings and long arrows fletched with owl feathers. Carries knives and an old longsword.
History: Kept quiet. Carried on her mother's trade practices after her departure for the Undying Lands.
