She swallowed and looked up at him, her finger going limp. She thought about her choice of words, then her eyes went wide, her mouth forming that perfect 'o' again. "Why you! You...you..." her mouth went back to the 'o' but her eyes twinkled merrily.

''Once again I ask, should I wait for a reply?'' He began walking again, his eyes scanning for somewhere they could spend the night.

She smiled and shook her head, then clasped her hands together as she walked behind him. Her smile quickly faded, however, as she watched his back. He seemed so...tense at times. She couldn't figure him out very well.

He finally found a place that would give them a fair view of the road yet it would be hard put for anything to spot them, especially in the dark. Sitting down he lay his back against another tree and took out some food. He began to eat some meat before speaking. ''Have you anything to eat?''

She shook her head "I don't, but I don't need anything." she sat against a tree a few feet away from him and tipped her head up to the sky. A cool breeze moved her hair slightly, and she closed her eyes as she enjoyed the feel of it on her face.

''You have not eaten since we left.'' It confused him how she always valued him over her. He lifted his bag of food and tossed it to her. ''Eat something.Because I ask if for nothing else.'' He sat, finishing his meat.

She looked at the bag of food and gingerly picked it up. All she was use to was bread and water a couple times a week. She found a loaf of bread and carefully broke off a small piece, then tossed the bag back to him. "Le Hannon." she said quietly, thankful for it. She ate slowly, as she always did. It lasted longer and filled her up more quickly.

He looked at her as she ate, and he wasn't sure what she said when she spoke. Finishing his meat, he lay back, pulling his cloak about him and taking in the view of the stars above him.

"It means thank you. In Elvish." she whispered, her words nearly muffled as she brought her knees up and she buried her face in her knees. Her hair fell about her in a waterfall of red. She hugged her legs close to her body.

How she knew Elvish, he did not know but it was interesting to know. He looked up beginning to feel drowsy, he had not slept in a while. Looking over he saw that she was huddled up. ''Are you cold?''

"Just a little chilly, but I have my cloak." it was a half lie. She was a tiny bit chilly, but she hid her face because she didn't want him to see the tears. She didn't know why she was crying, perhaps it was because she was frightened of what lay ahead. She wasn't sure. But she let them fall silently, knowing that if she didn't now it would all build up.

He wasn't entirely convinced with what she said. He debated and went up and sat beside her, his intention to try to keep her warm, yet he heard the small sobs and found she was crying. He was at a loss for what to do, so he just sat there, mute.

She felt him sit next to her, and panicked mentally. He had probably never dealt with a crying woman and probably felt very uncomfortable. She quickly took a deep breath, convinced herself to stop crying, and dried her tears quickly. "I'm sorry, I didn't want you to see that. I really didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." as she lifted her head, the cool breeze hit her torso that had been warm from being curled up, Abd she shivered only slightly.

''If I have upset you I apologize'' he said still not sure what had brought about her tears. Seeing her shiver he did something that his instincts were not in control of. He slowly put his arm around her, drawing her to him so she may lay her head on his chest. He wasn't sure why he did it, but he thought she may be glad of the contact.

"no, it was not you." she grew still as he put his arm around her and pulled her so her head was on his chest. She lay like that, very still. His heart beat was strong in her ear. A sound that was foreign to her. She felt warmer. "Crixus?" why she even said it, she did not know. She had no question for him. But she felt like her mind was imploring her to say it. Imploring for what?

He was beginning to grow tired, he held her to him, still surprised at his own daring and he heard her speak his name. He turned his head to look at her, a curios look on his face. ''Yes?''
