Name's daedhel, or just dad for short. Been a LotR fan for a good portion of my life, and is probably one of the things that has greatly impacted my life (without it, I definitely wouldn't be going into props and set-building).

I'm a fan of various books, movies, bands, TV shows (including my guilty pleasure of Power Rangers), etc, though I do tend to go for the more obscure. I've also been a member of various forums, though this is the first LotR one I've made it to.

I'm really looking forward to meeting and chatting with you all!

It's wonderful to read the recent introductions and replies on this thread! It reminds me (*putting on best Grandmother facial expression*) of what it was like when I first began reading The Professor's writings, back in the Ice Age near the Dawn of Time (ok, late 60s early 70s if you must know ). It just proves how great writing is timeless, and will remain "popular" through trends and generations.

Now I really want to know where you're going to school...not to sound like a total creeper or anything We played Two Truths and a Lie in my freshmen orientation group a few years back, and my school called its 1st-year seminars Colloquiums. Not that this means it's the same school, of course, but it caught my eye The people in your group are probably just feeling inferior to your coolness at this point and will come around eventually!
