Hello, writers! This is the first in hopefully a series of fanfiction contests I am going to be hosting. Ideally, if I can come up with enough ideas for themes, I would like to host one consistently every month or so as we go into the summer, when I'll have more free time and can maybe do them more often. XD But I cannot do it alone! I need contest entries to read and love and have people vote for! And this, my friends, is where you come in.
The themes will vary, and not all of them will feature LotR. The rules for all entries, no matter what the theme, are as follows:
1. All entries must have a minimum of 500 words
2. Please use spellcheck, proper grammar/punctuation, capitalization, etc...I won't be TOO strict on this, but make sure I and the other readers know what you're talking about.
3. Please stick to the theme
4. Suggestions for future themes are always welcome, just PM me!
5. Deadlines will be posted with each new theme, but I am willing to be flexible.
6. After the deadline has passed and the entries are in, I will invite all of the forum to vote on their favorite, and a winner will be chosen. Then a new theme will be posted and the whole process begins again! You can participate as often as you like, and everyone is welcome. Let's revive the Hall of Fire!
And now, without further ado, our first prompt! Thanks to Crutchie for suggesting it to me!
Middle-earth. We've all pictured it in our minds as we read, gushed over its beauty in Peter Jackson's films, and dreamt of somehow visiting it ourselves. If you visited Middle-earth, where would you go and what how would that place look through your eyes? What would happen to you, what sort of people would you encounter? Feel free to write as yourself, or as if you were an original or canon character. The possibilities are endless! Just be careful, because it's a dangerous business going out your front door. The deadline for entries is (for now) April 1, but I can push it back if need be. Get writing!
