In dire need of something to do, Marylyn turned to the man known as Odin and began to help him. She went around the outskirts of the gathering, collecting wood for the fire. She piled the wood and watched the flames grow. Her eyes dared to venture in the mans direction, but soon returned to the flames.

Nesselde stayed near the man who was craddling his daughter's broken body in his arms, hoping she could be some comfort just by her presance. She had despratly wanted someone when she had lost Tal. Not pity, not feinged greif, just someone there.

"Thank you," Oldin said to Marylyn. Suddenly, a group of men burst through the trees. "You're too late." Oldin told them. "You may return to your posts."

(Annyone can feel free to pick up an EYE they are sort of elven rangers.)

Cale ignored everyone else and stood with his daughter still in his arms. "Maybe next time you won't force your unwanted presence onto someone." he hissed. "I hold all of you responsible for this."

Marylyn nodded faintly at Oldin. Her shoulder's lowered at the mans statement. She could already feel the grief and the guilt settling within her.

One of the men, known as Logan, stepped forward. He was tall and fair, but something about the way he carried himself screamed that he was deathly strong. "What happened, my brother?" He asked, not daring to look at the man cradling his daughter's dead body.

"We delayed too long," Oldin's voice was even, stating the facts.

Cale carried his girl to a more private spot and lay her down in some moss. He began to tear off strips of his cloak and wrap them gently around her throat, hiding the the horror that lay there.

Logan frowned deeply. "What do we know of the culprit?" He watched the man carry his daughter away. He knew only too well the pain he was feeling. He shook himself, stopping the thought process in its tracks.

Marylyn shifted her weight from foot to foot with nerves. She was growing anxious and impatient. She struggled with the atmosphere that had descended over the gathering.

"That he was a Druid." Oldin said.

Cale let out another bitter laugh. "He wasn't a Druid, fool." he snapped. "He was a man, possessed."

"A possessed man? I do not think I have come across such a thing. What powers did he have? How long has he been...possessed? Did you know him before?" Logan raised his brows perplexed.

Logan's lips tightened into a thin line. "We will need to try and get information from the father. This monster must be stopped before he takes another child."

"He won't take another child. He will kill people, but he took my child for a reason." Cale began to pile brush and sticks around his daughter. He would burn her, like her ancient fore fathers before her.

"Why is that?" Nesslede asked gently.
