Bilbo sighed. "What I plan is not really important. I am tired...old and tired. I think that now I have more problems than I could think few years later. I need a change...you are my old friend but I didn't tell what I want to do even to my Frodo."

Birif decided to not dwell into this, as Bilbo apparently wanted to keep his secret. He changed topic.

"How's Frodo? He feels good about upcoming party? I had slight impression that he wanted to celebrate it silently."

He winked to his old friend.

Bilbo smiled. "Your impression was far from true. He wants to celebrate it with whole Hobbiton. He is very wise hobbit for his age but every young wants to party. Let's talk about you! Are you ready to help me with invitations?"

"I can write them, if you need and send them to guests" laughed Birif. "Whatever you want!"

He sat near the table and took first letter. "Sackville-Baggins? Do you feel already the breath of Lobelia on your neck?" he smiled.

"Good point, my Took friend. Butt hey are necessary at the party. They are my closest family, after all. This that I don't really like them, isn't important. Can I bring you something to eat?" Bilbo was in better mood than at the beginning of theirtalk.

And Rosie wrote:

"Dear hobbitdiary,
today I met Cason Hardbottle and he looked even better than yesterday and the day before yesterday. And you guess what diary. He waved at me. And I couldn't do anything else but smile. I mean can you possibly imagine the other possibilities I could have kis.." but then her brother came in and she quickly closed it and became all red from the face.
"What do you want Mussi?" she asked a bit angrily.

Mussi smiled and it was really sad smile. "You are sitting here and guess who visited our dad? Cason! I guessed you would liked to know. But maybe better stay here and write your diary..." he laughed.

Rosie took a pillow that was behind her and threw it to Mussi's face. And he ran away showing his tongue and singing "Rosie likes Cason! Rosie likes Cason".
She hoped so bad that Cason wasn't here. She thought about all the things he could say to her afterwards.
"God do not be here right now" she murmured ang sighed very loudly.

In the meantime Cason was greeting with Bob Brotter, father of Rosie. Bob was happy from this visit, Hardbottles were friends of Brotters for long time.

"How is family interest going?" asked Rosie's father and offered a dinner, which Cason accepted with wide smile.

"I try to keep away from family interest" he said with a smile. "I am known for being lazy hobbit. But I have plans after Bilbo's party. I may leave the Hobbiton for a while."

"Yes!" Birif nodded vigorously at the mention of food. "Maybe some bread with fresh butter and boiled potatoes with gravy?"

"I have fresh butter!" Bilbo clapped his hands. "And I am having potatoes with champignons for the main dinner. While you will be writing invitations, I will make myself at home at the kitchen" old hobbit laughed and once again clapped his hands.

Birif smiled when he saw name of Cason Hardbottle on one of the invitations. "I see you didn't forget these good lads Hardbottles!" he shouted to Bilbo, writing and waiting when the host will bring food.

"Ah!" Bilbo said. "I know that you are friends with young Hardbottle. How is he? Everything is good with him and his family? I didn't heard a lot about other hobbits, I was too busy preparing myself to...something..."

Rosie went to the dining room and she peeked from behind the door and blushed sawing Cason talking with her father. "I can't go to dinner looking like this!" she thought and ran immediately back to her room. She put on her nicest dress, but still not too big for not making Cason think that she uses big dresses at home on a Saturday evening. Rosie wasn't quite satisfyied with her choice so she put it bact to the closet and chose another one.
She walked to the dining room with a beautiful green dress whitch was very simple that had a medium bow behind on top of her waist.
"Good evening", she said and walked to her chair which was next to her father.
"Hello Cason", she said but blushed immediately after.
