One year I got $150 worth of gift cards for B&N for Christmas, by the time my birthday rolled around a few months later I already needed more! That store has probably enough of my money to open up a new location! And now I have a ereader from the store, so that means anywhere I have a wireless internet connection I can shop for books. Uh oh... !!!!

I feel your pain for going through so many books. I got $200 in Amazon cards for Christmas and had it all spent within a month...with more books waiting to be bought and read. Not to mention I took about 300 books to half-price books last year and every available surface in my room is still piled with them. What on Earth would we do without books, right?

I wish I could get to the bookstore more often, but my mum can't always get me there... Bleh. I like the idea of an e-reader, I mean, thousands of books at your fingertips?? I salivate at the thought of it. But... I just can't give up the feeling of holding a book and turning the pages, the smell of the ink, and feeling the thickness and weight of the book in my hands. I love curling up with a good book, and curling up with an e-reader just wouldn't be the same. But dat's just me.

I can see how an e-reader would be very helpful--I feel like an idiot carrying ADWD (it's hardcover and therefore bigger than my head) around town. But I agree: turning pages is the best feeling.

Ereaders do take some gettin used to, but it is much easier to carry books around with me. It really comes in handy when you get somewhere like a restaurant and its gonna be a long wait, just pull out the ereader and there's multiple book choices at my fingertips. Plus I still buy regular books too, so that feeds my need for pages between my fingers and the new book smell.

I have a kindle, and I don't use it very often, but I do like it. Classics are free, and they have daily deals where you can get ebooks for quite cheap, which is handy.

At first I really disliked the idea of an e-reader, but by now I'm also kind of tired carrying all those books around. Although I love the fact that most good fantasy books are at least 400 pages, I don't like the weight of them But I can also use an e-reader to read my study-related articles, and it will be loads easier to find English books digitally than in the library, so I'm currently hunting for a nice one

I don't know how I feel about e-readers and kindles... I suppose that they're good because they save trees and such, but I love books so much that I'm not quite used to the idea of electronicizing them.

I think what it comes down to is that they're useful and certainly not a bad thing to have, but they better not be replacing actual printed books anytime soon.

I would hate it if they replaced actual books! Hopefully that never happens! Ereaders are convenient, but nothin can replace the feel of a good book in your hands while you snuggle under a blanket in the winter, or lounge in a hammock in the summer!

Yeah, I read an article on that the other day, and it said that some book company is publishing books first as an e-book, and then paper books on demand. As a side note, I'm running for our school president this year. We just got all the info today, and our letter to the principle about why we should run is due tomorrow, and then the election is first thing next week. Eep!

Personally, I wouldn't read a book if it was only available as an ebook... I'd buy a book as an ebook only if I knew there would still be print copies. I don't know, it's strange, but I stand by this decision. Good luck, Precious! I'd never have the guts to do something like that--you're very brave.

Well today I had a difficult time babysitting my brothers while cleaning the house, had to argue with my lazy brother to get him to clean his room, which gave me a headache, then I burned my hand while taking a pan of pizza rolls out of the oven and flung the pizza rolls across the counter, then spent the rest of the afternoon with aloe smeared on my hand...and my favorite country singer is in town tonight for a concert and I'm not going...is it time for bed yet?
