^ Sorry I haven't posted in while... I just had a couple of big tests and an audition coming up, sooo... Ya. I am currently spending my days weeping over dead dwarves and cursing PJ to make us wait a year for the next movie

Hello family! How y'all doing? We're about to experience the coldest weather we've had in about two years...oh boy. I hate the cold, unless it comes with snow, because then its pretty. Other than that, absolutely nothing of interest has been happening with me...its been boring...

ALSO ALSO IF I'M IN MADISON we could Hobbit premiere together? Anyway counting the chickens before they're hatched so.
It's gotten so cold the past few days! Apparently tomorrow morning it will be about 2 degrees. It's mostly the wind though, that's the worst.

Ugh...was cleaning up my brothers' mess in the basement today, and while trying to dismantle some toy they had built one of the pieces snapped off and hit me right in the eye. And then I hit my head on the rim of their basketball hoop thats hanging on the wall, and then ran over my own foot with a push-dolly that had my heavy Foosball table on it. So after that I decided it would be best if I just gave up on cleaning for the day, or doing anything that required further movement that could result in further injury to myself....my stupid eye still hurts.

Ouch, Lithy--sounds traumatic.
In terms of injuries and cold... you have not known true weather-related trauma until you have rowed in the snow. It was horrible. Pretty, with the sunrise and the mist in front of the cathedral, but I lost circulation in my fingers. Again. I have a problem.

The possibilities are infinite! (almost ) (But will the next Hobbit movie be out at the same time next year? Because if so, then I'll still be stuck taking finals at college the night of the premiere... or there's a chance that I'll be abroad. ) --- And yeah, speaking of the cold... It's -32 degrees F here, so does that count as negative freezing? I'm wearing three layers of pretty much everything. My legs are still cold even though I'm wearing long underwear and knee-high wool socks, but otherwise all this layering helps me keep pretty warm. You really learn how to bundle up when you live this far north! (p.s. why isn't there a cold smily on here? I feel like it would be very appropriate...) --- And Shadow, I can definitely sympathize with the horrors of winter rowing. I can't decide which is worse: rowing at this time of year, or rowing in the spring just after all the ice melts. Do you have a dock? Our team doesn't, so last year we had to wade knee-deep into freezing water to put the boat in. It was terrible. *shivers*

We have a landing stage, which is just a treacherous set of steps descending into the water. Yeah, they shut things down when the river floods, fortunately, but I've had to do a bit of wading in ice-cold water and it's not fun at all.
Yeah, Nurr, no pressure or anything. But get that job. Or else.

^ Oh I'm so jealous of you guys having this possibility to meet up and stuff. I hope it works out for you We have a LOT of snow here at the moment. And ofcourse, in typical Dutch fashion, the trains don't go on time, or don't go at all and all other public transport is also a bit of a mess. I'm actually enjoying the snow, although I would prefer slightly higher temps! Like Ariadne, I'm wearing three layers of clothes when I have to put as much as a foot outside, and still my toes are cold

... well, now the snow is making me lazy. Most sports and things have been cancelled, including our formal dinner tomorrow night, but I was still supposed to have another rowing sesh tonight. Skipped it. Skipped it last week too. They're going to be mad, but... the snow... I keep slipping and hurting my knee, which isn't helping, but in any case, I know I'd be a lot less lazy if the paths were properly shovelled and the air was warmer...

It amuses me how Britain just seems to stop as soon as there's snow. I've been out playing in the snow for hours today Of course now I can't feel my toes, and typing is difficult because my fingers are sort of numb (my gloves got wet...), but I had the best time

I would too if I were you, Shadow... rowing in negative degree weather is just not my cup of tea. --- And the worst thing about the cold here is that even though it's negative freezing, there still hasn't been any new snow as it sounds like you're all getting. We have about 3 inches on the ground left over from our last storm, but if it's this cold, there should at least be some more snow (at least that's what I think).

We got a very slight dusting overnight a few days ago, but in general the weather hasn't been too bad this week. Of course, that means the world is dying because the weather patterns are changing but I have my book so I don't care. BECAUSE A MEMORY OF LIGHT FINALLY CAME OUT! AND I GOT IT! So I've been reading it like crazy. Except for yesterday when I helped Mom run a chess tournament for 140 junior high kids. That was an adventure. EDIT// Praise God - I got the job offer! Which means I'll be moving to Madison at the end of next month. Friends, I look forward to seeing you.

Well, drove into town today to search for a job, struck out on an immediate offer but I think I made a good impression on the owner of a grooming clinic that is considering expanding and hiring someone to help, so hopefully that means I swooped in before anyone else has. Aside from striking out I almost got into a head on collision driving home. Stupid idiot drifted completely into my lane and I had to swerve off the road to avoid getting hit. Dumbarse. He jerked back over into his lane as he was passing me on the side of the road, and its like 'um yeah, wake up you moron!' Gah! People, I swear....and now I have some random stray cat coming over at night to eat my cats food and fight with her, so I have my cat inside now because they got into it twice tonight already...*sigh* On a good note, had a yummy dinner and a relaxing night reading.

I'll be back at the end of March, if you'll be around then... --- So second semester just started for me, and I had my first two days of classes! I don't really know how it'll turn out yet, since we went through all the normal syllabus/get-to-know-you stuff in most of my classes, but I think I'll like my schedule. (Fun fact: one of my profs is actually FROM NEW ZEALAND! I got really excited because it's like a connection to LotR... and his brilliant accent might have something to do with it. I can tell that I'll pay attention in this class... ) Plus, I just finished my all of my reading for Monday, so I'm feeling very accomplished. I think I might stay in tonight and watch Indiana Jones or something of that sort as a reward. Hmmm.... *goes off to browse through movies*
