You have a fish named Gandalf?
I'm going to be getting a horse soon, and I'm naming him Feanor. My sister, who hates Tolkien, doesn't understand why I like to name my pets after Tolkien characters...
I hope your knee gets better!

My knee is doing much better, thanks! And yep, I have a blue betta fish named Gandalf I asked the pet store if there was any other kind of fish I could put in the tank with him, just get one of those small little fish so he'd have a companion, and i was going to name that one Elrond, but apparently anything else I put in the tank with him he'd attack...Even if I put a female betta fish in with him he'd probably try to attack her too....so apparently Gandalf is rather aggressive...or grumpy.

I hope your knee gets better! I had a three-legged cat named Gandalf who was my best friend until I had to put him to sleep for early onset dementia. He was awesome though, the best cat you could ever ask for. * I'm finally back and active guys. I'm not well by a longshot but at least doing better and am home in Sweden with my family and looking at apartments and trying to get CBT to help me with my aspergers and things are finally looking up. I finally realized that my ex is not a great person and I am so lucky to have her completely out of my life.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been on for ages. My 3ds broke recently and it made me really upset, I then fixed it about a week ago but about fifteen minutes ago the screen went black and won't turn back on. It's made me really upset because it's my only toy and I had a great many friends on there.
I hope all are well.

I'm about to make my last post as Erin Vanya. I finally settled on a username I like. I'm not completely changing it all, just changing the "Vanya" part. Plus I've had the same sig text for months, along with my banners, so it'll be easy to know it's me.
I'm hoping to be more active on the internet again soon. I couldn't be bothered with all the drama that surrounds my facebook friends, and my internet connection has been really bad.

^ Thanks for the info, since I've updated it in my signature. I have one question: how do you get those graphics into your signature (meaning the hearts and diamonds), since I've been trying to figure out how to do that? I just thought that I would let everyone know that I'm still planning on hosting a Durin's Day celebration (which, according to Erin, coincides with our Dec. 1st), so you may want to wrap up the current Halloween celebration by the end of this week. I think we should all host at least one Family Tree celebration in our home base. It won't be in the same room that Erin held her wedding ceremony (perhaps in the Hall of Kings, or whatever that room was that has all the banners), since I don't think the area around the hidden door would be big enough to hold everyone (though we can still visit the location. I'm unsure if you can actually open the door from the inside, so we may have to walk around and go in through the outside, which means climbing those stairs again, which Marida may have never done, but Thorin has). Advance tickets for BoFA don't go on sale until tomorrow in my neck of the woods (Canada is a little late this year, since we were able to purchase tickets at the same time people from the U.S. could last year). I'm planning on going to the IMAX 3D showing of the entire Hobbit trilogy on the Monday before (though I've watched the occasional marathon on television, this will be the first time I've done it in the theater). It will be nice to see the entire Hobbit trilogy in HFR 3D one last time (to quote Thorin in BoFA). I'm both a little excited and dreading it at the same time, since what happens to Thorin in BoFA will be hard to watch, but regardless what happens to him in the latest movie version, he'll always be alive in my fan fics as well as this alternate universe Family Tree (thank goodness for that, since I'm not planning on becoming a grieving widow anytime soon).

So Gandalf has decided to start attacking the water filter pump in his aquarium. I have no idea why. He's never attacked it before. He saw himself in a mirror, flared up like the big bad betta he is, mirror was taken away and then he started to attack his pump. So I unplugged it before he hurt himself, and let him calm down before I tried turning it back on a few hours later. He started to attack it again! So I guess I just can't have a filter on anymore, I dont know. Its weird.

You know you're on sick leave when you spend a whole day in bed either sleeping or watching Dr. Phil.

I just copied and pasted them out of the Character Map program that came with my laptop. LOL, expect me not to be online much. Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby came out yesterday. Got AS, and am totally hooked on it.

That Halloween thing should have wrapped up a while ago. It's December now. Let's move on. I'm not sure of the Durin's Day thing, since we are past when that would take place in Tolkien's world. I'd say we go into a Christmas thing. Or call it Yuletide, it sounds more fitting in Dwarven culture. I'm also a neo-pagan, we call it that, plus, we also don't actually know how actually Dwarves call their winter holiday, if they have one or not. It's fitting in my book anyway. Thoughts are welcome.

I'm so glad to be back on here again. I needed a few days to just sort my novel out. It's really getting messy. I have so many different files here and there on my laptop, with great ideas I've had, but haven't quite decided what could happen, to lock them all in place. Then I came up with an idea that completely changed the whole tone of one of the plot lines, so I had to rework all that. Writing books really is hard work. So, anyway, I'm really looking forward to Christmas. Though, it's embarrassing that my family keeps telling people the story of how I stopped believing in Santa to people who visit, or our other relatives. They may find it funny, but it was a very traumatising time for me.

Found out Saturday my dog has started having seizures. needless to say I was pretty upset, took a while before my "he just needs some phenobarbital to manage it, he'll be ok" vet tech mind could overcome my "MY BABY!!!" mother mind. so he'll be going to the vet on wednesday to get some medicine.

Believe me, dogs with epilepsy are a nightmare. One of my dogs, Paddy, he has had epilepsy for a few years now. It started with a seizure. He's on phenobarb and another sedative. They've had to progressively increase the dosage a lot over the last year. It's at a point now, where there is not much the vets can do, because eventually the meds will shut down his organs.
The seizures have affected his brain. He is erratic, and tries to attack everything he sees. Cars, trucks, buses, passing people on bikes, you name it. He never used to be like that.

I had a friend whose dog started having seizures, as long as the dog was on their meds it seemed nothing was wrong.

He seems to be doing much better, I'm glad to say! I haven't noticed him acting strange in any way anymore. I'm hoping that trend continues, and that I caught it early enough to make a difference, especially since it appeared to me to be a "mild" seizure.
