now my formal review...
i thought it was absolutly brilliant. Best HP movie yet, hands down! it had a lot more humor to it... but i was sad that they left out some major parts, like the house elves, SPEW, sirius, the magical creatures and so on. the QWC was very good although it went by super fast! o and who like the abusive teachers? (*cough* Dumbledore and Snape *cough*)
*grins*
all the actors are maturing they have a lot acting skills. I LOVED the new side of Ron that we got to see. He wasnt the *i'm scared and confused* charry that he was played out to be in the first 3 movies, we really got to see emotion and anger in him, i thought Rupert did it brilliantly.
Emma, omg, *faints* she was incredibly brilliant. she totally had her emotions and everything totally perfect. I loved the emotional scene between her and Ron after the Yule Ball. totally brilliant!!!!
dan did a much better job, he is really pulling through as an actor.
my ALL TIME favorite scene was the graveyard scene. Ralph Fiennes was PERFECT. i was soo amazed, that wasnt Ralph, i swear *laughs* i was sobbing through it all but it was brilliant. perfect. also i loved that when harry and cedric- dead - came out of the graveyard and everyone was cheering and the fluer screamed because she realized cedric died and then everyone was like schocked. it was a really emotional scene, it had me crying...
i LOVED the movie, absolutely 100% ruddy brilliant... i am so going to see it again on Wed.
so yeah thats what i thought, be prepared for more ops. that was a shortened review... hee hee...
and g'night!

I thought that the younger actors did a lot better this film--they acted like teenagers, but also teenagers with a different life to ours--definately their best film yet, and they can only get better!
The bit at the Quidditch World Cup where Harry got knocked out, that bit wasn't in the book, but I did think it worked really well as it made the story a lot simpler. The first task was amazing, the dragon was as realistic as you could get and it was amazing to see on the big screen--the second task, too. The third task, and the things that happened there, as I said before, were amazingly captured. The graveyard scene sent shivers down my spine, and even though I imagined Voldemore less human-like, I think Ralph Fiennes played him perfectly
Another character I thought was really good was Mad-Eye Moody--again, nothing like I imagined him, but the way that he showed the Unforgivable Curses to the class, and what he said and acted, was brilliant! There was even a funny part too, where he told Seamus to find a better place to put his gum, and when he turned Malfoy into a ferret
McGonagall: Professor Moody, what are you doing?!
Moody: Teaching.
Aaaah, hilarious...
Ok, there's my formal review, heh heh.

Well, I forgot some stuff - partly because I was so excited the last time I wrote. I forgot to say that the abusive Dumbledore really threw me off guard. Kind of scared me. I did, however, enjoy Snape being abusive. Seriously, he seems like the kind of guy who would in fact do that. Professor Moody. Alas, what went wrong. I do believe whoever played him did an excellent job portraying him. However, the eye strapped to his head? No. That made me a bit angry. And Madame Maxime (whatever her name is) wasn't how I imagined her. It just seemed that they enlarged her. But I did like the scene at the end of the Yule Ball when Hagrid was dancing with her. VERY funny.
The acting has definately improved for all of the actors. Emma has always been far superior in her acting . . . but I think Rupert and Dan really matured. As corny as Harry's crying was in the end - it was better than in the third one. I think by that time anyways - I was in such a state of shock I didn't really care. Ha ha ha.
The Priori . . . whatever, was short yes. But if they had kept it as long as it is in the book . . . well, we'd all still be there. That said, the Death Eaters actually scared me with their hats and mask things. I thought there was supposed to be over 30 there and just in dark robes. Hmmm.
Like I said before, I was very sad when Sirius wasn't in it at the end. His presence in the book is really powerful - pretty sad.
I do have good things to say, I swear!
In the previous movies, Neville's parts were well, lacking and sad. And so I was SO happy when he was involved more. Whoever plays him does a great job. I just LOVED the Yule Ball and him. It was GREAT! I just started cheering for Neville when Ron and Harry see him dancing around in his room! It was brilliant! I loved it! I love Neville! He freaking rocks.
I also forgot to add how much I enjoyed the bathroom scene with Mrytle. Brilliant. For some reason, I thought they'd have some way of cutting it or doing something horrible to it. But it was brilliant!
I really do think this was the best movie of them. It really captured what the book was about I think. Goblet of Fire, being my favourite book in the series, I was really impressed with the job they did.
I can't remember what I wrote earlier, but the first task was visually amazing and they captured it really well - even with the embellishments. The second task was pretty good - except did anyone else feel like Harry was ALMOST dying a lot? Ha ha ha. The maze rocked. I did miss the creatures . . . but I wouldn't have minded so much if they had kept the sphinx in. But oh well, they get the point across. And Voldemort just rocked my face off! He was brilliantly evil. Besides Sirius, Voldemort/Tom Riddle is my favourite character. Oh, and I really, really enjoyed the twins in this one. Long hair suits them well Ha ha ha. Okay, enough. I plan on seeing it again VERY soon! It was almost like reading the book - too fast, and excited, and not absorbing everything. Ha ha ha.
Oh! And the music was great! No John Williams. As much as I love that old man, the new guy rocked.

Okay, so I saw it. Everyone has said that they loved it and it was awesome. I would say that it was good. My biggest problem was how rushed it was; I think it would have been so much better if it was done in two movies.
Krum: I didn't like him in the movie, they made him this dumb jock. I didn't get the impression that he was dumb in the books, but I think that he was Jo's weakest character so it was a hard role to put on screen.
Cedric: He seemed too show-off-ish to me at times but he was h-o-t As for his death, I didn't even come close to crying. I was too busy laughing at Dan's inability to cry, and I didn't like who they cast as his dad (who also couldn't cry)
Hermione: I found her a bit annoying. She started off great at the Yule Ball, but they made it that she didn't have a good time with Viktor at all. In the book she did, and it was after the ball in the common room when she started yelling at Ron. I just do not think that she would sit there crying on the stairs. Ron should be the over-dramatic one, not her.
Dumbledore: No, just no. He clearly has no clue about what Dumbledore should be like. One of the most important things is that Dumbledore stays calm when everyone else is freaking out. Him shaking Harry? No...no...NO (Michael Gambon hasn't read the books, he said so in an interview.)
Weasley Twins: Bloody brilliant!! Fred asking Angelina to the Ball was hysterical, and just everythinng they did was great
Moody: He wasn't likeable enough, in the book Harry has a connection with him - he likes Moody, and I liked Moody. In the movie he was just plain crazy. His eye was screwed too.
Harry: His acting has improved a lot (he should get some crying lessons though). He was really good, but I had a problem with some of his lines, which isn't his fault. THe thing that irrated me the most was him after the first task saying "Who wants me to open the egg?" or w/e the line was. Harry would not say that.
Ron: I thought he was okay, the fight between him and Harry bothered me. In the book he just wouldn't give him the time of day - that did not come across in the movie.
I was sooo mad that Harry didn't throw the pin at Ron! Argh, they had Ron interupting Harry and Sirius and I was so hoping he would throw the pin at him and say "maybe it will leave a scar, that's what you want isn't it?".
Voldemort: Last but certainly not least Voldemort. I thought he was really good. Not exactly what I imagined but he's an extremely hard character to get right and I don't think they could have done better
That whole Seamus told Lavender told me or w/e was annoying. Though I did like Harry saying "How could anyone figure that out? It's completely mental"
There were some really funny scenes/lines, they did a great job on that. The dragon was amazing, and the second task too. The maze was weird
Not enough Draco! *crys* I know they couldn't have put anymore of him in, I just love Tom Felton
There were a couple of really cheesy lines, I can't remember them for the life of me, but they were there
That's all I can remember right now, but overall it was good

It was very rushed, and if you hadn't read the books you probably wouldn't have known what the heck was going on. It just wasn't right. Beriadanwen wrote: Weasley Twins: Bloody brilliant!! Fred asking Angelina to the Ball was hysterical, and just everythinng they did was great I definantly agree! Lol Beri, you and Evenstar should get together; you both said the exact same thing about Draco not getting a big enough part!
Am I the only one who thought Dan did a really really good job acting, crying and all? Maybe I'm just biased, because Harry's one of my favorite characters and I do like Dan, but I thought he was excellent.

I didn't really notice him being bad at crying but what I did notice was that he was terrible at laughing or in any scene where he's just meant to be enjoying himself and having a laugh. I especially noticed this in the bouncing ferret scene which was otherwise very cool.
Thankfully Harry spends more of the film being scared or worried so this doesn't matter too much.

*mostly agrees with Beriadanwen's very long post which is very good as she doesn't have to write so much herself*
What do you think of Cho Chang? I think she was well cast... I could have wished for her to appear a little more as she plays a bigger part in the book, but that didn't seem to be possible considering all the otherevents...
And Fleur... she was supposed to be over 17 to enter the tournament right? She looked like a 14-year old... She was pretty, it just bothered me because they explicitly stated that the contestants had to be 17

Oooh! I've enjoyed reding your posts! What shall I say?
The movie was simply amazing! My absolute fabourite of them all. I actually didn't know that it wasn't John Williams this time, although I could feel something in the music that didn't sound like him. Next time I will listen more to the music.
Yeah, the World Cup was short but I thought it was okay, actually. Maybe they should have met Dean and Seamus, but it was all right.
- Have you noticed that the Dursleys don't appear in the movie at all? Aren't they in the beginning of the book? I can't remember now... hmm.
- yes, the rather violent Dumbledore scared me! But I loved the little scene in his office with all those little black things that I can't remember the names of now.. It was cute and Dumbledore-ish
- Also Mad-eye Moody was good! I don't really know how I pictured him in my head, but I think he was thinner and uglier. I liked this one very much
Write some more later...

I don't understand why they could not release the movie all at the same time like the books instead you get people like me who have to wait at least a month until till you see the movie. But reading your reviews is make me wanting to see it more and more.

^Welcome to the forums Ngala the Ranger!
Loving all of you guys reviews!!
I think this is kinda random but I'm going to post it anyways. When Harry is with Snape in the closet or something like that,Snape shows Harry the Veritaserum. He says something very interesting that could turn into a theory for book 7. He says that a few drops of Veritaserum and the Dark Lord will be spilling his darkest secrets. Why he has to mention exactly the Dark Lord? Maybe he will use Veritaserum on Voldemort to reveal where are the reamining Horcruxes?Don't mind this. It's just my crazy mind but it's quite interesting.I heard that Alan Rickman knew the fate of his character.
I'm going to watch the movie again tomorrow(for the third time!)
