I know there's probably a thread around here somewhere on different Christian bands, but I'm too lazy and/or too busy to go looking for it.
Anyways, I know maybe...two or three Christian rock bands, which is measly compared to what I know is out there. I'm making some CDs for my mom and I don't really listen to the same stuff she does, but I know she likes Switchfoot, Creed, and Thousand Foot Krutch; I connected those to her being Christian, and loe and behold came up with the possibility of her liking Christian rock. [Amazing intellect, huh?]

I've actually heard of some of these. xD Though I'm fairly certain Disturbed isn't Christian, and I don't think Flyleaf is either. Thank you!
I'm almost positive Flyleaf is Christian..they are very hard rock though,if I remember(only ehard them once)..I don't know about Disturbed..I got the singers out of a Christian magazine,so....
Btw,you can also go to Plugged-in.com or CBD.com,and click music in both and find Christian stuff there.

Neither Flyleaf or Switchfoot choose to be classed as Christian. They have prominent Christian songs and nearly all their songs have Christian content and implications, but they choose to be classed as rock or alternative "in order to reach other people who would not listen to Christian-labeled music." (BTW, that is not a direct quote from them but that is what most websites say )
I don't know about Disturbed but I believe they also are alternate with some Christian songs/lyrics/implications.
I love Flyleaf and Switchfoot.
Here's a list of my favorite Christian rock bands:
________________________________________
Skillet
Flyleaf
Switchfoot
BarlowGirl
Stellar Kart
Hawk Nelson
ReliantK
Kutless
Thousand Foot Krutch
MercyMe
Third Day
Audio Adrenaline
Casting Crowns
Third Day, MercyMe, Audio Adrenaline, and Casting Crowns are more of soft or contemporary rock... Also, Audio Adrenaline is retired or whatever you call a band who is no longer producing CDs or going on tour...
Skillet, Stellar Kart, BarlowGirl, Flyleaf, and Switchfoot are by far my favorites!!
Hope I helped!!!

Some Few bands and CDs I liked that were tagged as 'christian'...
Prayer Chain - Shawl (grunge punk) Grammatrain - Indie EP & Flying (grunge) Sometime Sunday - Stone & Drain (grunge) Larry Norman - Only Visiting This Planet (folk Rock) (two songs in particular really hit home... 6 O Clock News & Great American Novel) 77's - Tom Tom Blues & EP (Blues Rock) Saint - self titled 1st album (Hard Metal) Resurrection Band - Lament (Hard Rock) (beautiful concept album)
Note - Most of not all of these artists/albums/songs would not be played on any U.S. contemporary christian radio station because the bands and music wouldn't "fit" into the particular box the corporate christian station owners had put Jesus in.

Well, here that's more "progressive rock" and worth taking a look at.. in my opinion- First time I heard the songs I was overwhelmed. Those guys are excellent musicians, and have interesting faith testimony. you can also listen two of their cd's available on youtube titled "testimony". God Bless

@ Hanasian I have a few of Lary Norman on my playlist. He has one of those voices and styles that kind of grows on you.

I learned a bit of ASL (American Sign Language) in my younger years and their song, "The Color Song" was one of the first full songs I learned to do in sign language.

Yeah we got to actually meet Petra on there Farewell tour. We actually got to sneak by our second cousin Mike (who is a huge Petra fan) while he was distracted talking to a friend, and got him one of there custom guitars! He is an excellent guitarist! He still plays it to this day.

Saw Petra a couple times back in the late 80's. Good arena shows!
Thought I’d browse youtube to see what I could find of some of the christian metal bands I loved in the 80’s/90’s. Here is the title track of Saint’s 1st album circa 1986. I see that most of the members are still grinding it out. The ‘newer’ vocalist they’ve had since the late ‘90’s doesn’t quite have the grunt Josh Kramer had in their heyday.
