I lve the song very much, especially the lyrics. Annie did a good job, but there are better singers who could have sung this song better I think. sorry.

i love the song, it's absolutley beautiful. i'm not a huge fan of annie lenox's voice, but that's just my opinion. i really would have liked to hear enya record it. i think someone else mentioned that too. the song did grow on me though.

into the west has beautiful lyrics. Annie Lenox is a good singer. At first I thought taht it was stange they picked Annie for that song but after hearing the emotion she put into it I can see why they put annie for into the west. As for her voice I think it is unique. As she is the lead singer of the group the eyrithmics ( hope I spelled that right) She is talented. Her voice is mysterious and mystefying.

When I heard Into The West for the first time, I didn´t like Annie´s voice very much. But I got used to it and now, I think she sang that song very beautifully. In my opinion, there are some singers who would have sung it even more beautifully...but that´s a matter of opinion.

i think annie Lennox sounds a little bit like she's screaming in the middle. :confused2:

I don't know. she was pretty good her voice sounded a bit like Galadriel's, low and haunting. she could have done a better job of sounding more feminine. when I first heard it I couldn't tell if it was male or female singing

Yes! Except, I think she's screaming throughout the whole song. Sorry guys, but I still don't like that song! :disgust:

Too tell you the truth, it depends on which mood I'm in...but I think Enya or Liv would have been a better choice for the job.

^I totally agree!

And It's her voice I hate, not the song. I love the music and stuff, but her voice just kills it.

Yeah, for me it´s one of the most beautiful songs I´ve ever listened to and it means so much to me. As for her voice, I got used to it and now I think it´s not the badest - but there could be a better one.

I have to say that she has a unique voice... ...it gotta grow on ya. She used to be a part of the 80's group Eurythmics, their music wasn't bad. :bones: It's kinda like Cher it's gotta grow on ya.
Well, I like Into the West! I just love everything about Lord of the Rings. Riniel

Gosh, I felt so bad for her at the Oscars that year! The worst possible night to have a cold!

Ironically, my mom thought that she was a man and sounded like one too. [sigh]

[pats sympathetically at clueless mother]

Duuude... give her a break.

Initially, I found Lennox's voice to be loud and a little masculine, but I guess I grew used to it and now, thinking about it, I believe it is a very fitting song to sum up the trilogy.
