Well, I mean, like CANON. Like, the kids come from such and such place in such and such time in history. In LotR, you don't have that kinda sense. We know that Middle-Earth was shaped after Europe but that's it. ....Atleast, to my knowledge anyhow.

Yeah I know, it's a lot more obvious in CoN. But Middle-Earth isn't just shaped after Europe, it is what is now Europe. [in terms of the story, obviously].

This is completely off topic, but I have this really awesome encyclopedia that shows the every location (as found in The Sil mostly) that Tolkien made on a world map and how it evolved into the world now. It's sooo cool. So for me, I always see this connection to the real world in LotR.

[scratches head]

Let's see here....

Like....the story is really aware of OUR world. Y'know?

No?

Yes?

No I don't actually.

Narnia is a different world. LotR isn't, so it doesn't need to be aware of our world...because it is!

Hoooooh boy...I never fall for actors or characters AT ALL, and I constantly tell my friends they shouldn't, but I AM IN LOVE WITH PETER!!! *silly giggles*

Aside from that, I thought the White Witch wasn't evil enough, like she was trying to contain herself. In the Magician's Nephew, Jadis doesn't think twice about wrecking a whole city with everyone watching. But, then, in LWW she has to deal with Aslan, and she should be afraid of him...hmmm...
Well, for sure, she should have had dark, straight hair. That's how I pictured her! Blonde just doesn't work for the White Witch...

As for the siblings, Susan was always my fav. in the books, and I never liked Lucy much...but the movie made me change my mind! Lucy was so cute, and very emotional. I still love Susan, too! She just seemed a tad to sensible, especially with wanting to go home over and over and not wanting Peter to kill the wolf. The kids really should have begun to want to save Narnia much earlier. It seemed like the entire movie, practically, they wanted to go home. Then *poof* let's be kings and queens and live here forever. Ummm, didn't they worry about their parents and stuff?

Thinking about that, I always felt so sorry for Lucy, having to grow up twice--imagine having to experience puberty and then do it all over again! :confused2: Plus, it seems like people would've noticed a change in the kids. After all, Lucy had lived to be twenty-something. Now all this life experience was in a six-year-old!

Well, that's all for now, though I'm bound to think of something later. The movie was really awesome!!! I want to take everyone I know to it, and then some, and then see it again and buy it and watch it every night--except on LotR nights!, lol.

Am I the only one who disagrees about having the White Witch have black hair? Sure, yes, it would've been true to the book, but think about it? A woman, all dressed in white [Thus the...'White' Witch title], and suddenly you see long massive pitch-black hair? And to have that sudden change from everything being white, her skin, pale as winter, and all......the change would DEFINITELY be too sudden and I think I'd cringe. Honestly.

Exactly! She should've been eviler (lol). Yes! Someone who agrees with me about the fear factor! In the book, she's completely terrified of Aslan. And the look in the book is a lot better, in my opinion, too.

Yeah! They asked way too many times to go home, it sort of took away from the experience. Narnia almost seemed like a scary place, when it's really, it's a wonderful place to be. In the book, they're excited about being there, and wouldn't want to go home for the world, you know?

Yeah, that would be cool though. :) You would be so mature. I think Lucy was 18, though, wasn't she?

I think it could look cool.

I know it looks more grey than black but that's all I could do without it looking really fake.

I liked her with blonde hair. I don't think she'd look as good with black hair. *ducks from stuff flying towards her* lol

Today I got to go again! It's even better the second time. One of my best(LotR obsessed) friends happened to be there, so we sat together and kept commenting on how the Weta people have outdone themselves.

Rumor has it that Prince Caspian will be released december 2007. By then the child actors will be waaay to old for any more films, don't you think?

And a question: When the kids return to Narnia, are they the age they were in our world, of the age they were when the left Narnia last?

I have been begging my mother to take me to the store so I can try Turkish Delight, so far it hasn't worked. :disgust:

"This way for your num-nums"

When the children return to Narnia in PC, they are one year older because it had been one year since their last visit to Narnia. So, yeah, they are children again, a year older.
