I am looking for a good lotr RPG game. I have tried The Fellowship of the Ring game by Sierra, and The Return of the King by EA games. Both I found were fun but had annoying little things that made me not want to play them.
For instance: you can't save the ROTK game until the end of a level, which means if you have trouble with the final enemy of a level, you have to play the ENTIRE section again. Argh! Otherwise I really liked the gameplay! I just got really frustrated and didn't want to keep playing if I got stuck.
In the Fellowship game there were parts where you had to know exactly what to do in a situation, and it got really tedious playing the same scene over and over just to miss the exact instant you were supposed to move again.
OK that's enough complaining on my part... I was wondering, does anyone have a suggestion for a good RPG? I would really like to play a good lotr game. I don't really want to play a strategy game, but if you think I should then feel free to convince me!

are you using GBA? because if you had a PS or PS2, Gamecube, etc. you shouldn't have to be able to save only at the end of the level

um... actually PC.
*looks sheepish*
Well, it's good to know that the game is better in the other versions- thanks! It almost makes me want to get an xbox... I really liked RotK but for the saving dealy-o. Hmmm... there are quite a few games I have heard are better on other platforms. Maybe I should invest?

I know third age is good it's got save posts through-out the game, so you can where you were last at.

The Third Age. I will go check it out... I had heard of it but when I last checked it wasn't on PC. Maybe it is by now- that was quite a while ago.
Thank You!

Wait... You ACTUALLY... had trouble with both of these games? O_O You gotta be kiddin me. ... Speechless. And I wouldn't call these RPG's. Action/Adventure is what they are infact. Wow, if you were seriously having trouble with those games, I'm sorry, but you must a be a total n00b to VG's.
The Hobbit= Solid, cartoony game. I enjoyed it, like the 70's TV movie.
TTA is also decent.
Other then that for systems, there is nothing else. Except for TTT, which might even be easier then FOTR in some instances.

I'm not a complete newbie, and I thought the King of The Dead level (RotK) was _way_ too hard. Then the next level was the easiest of that path. I think they should have spent more time balancing. The Ringwraith level (FotR) took me a long time, too.
I absolutely loved the hobbit.

I've beaten every level on ROTK except Palantir of Sauron, and they are all easy for me now. Gamecube doesn't let you save either unless you are talking about checkpoints

Agh, about FOTR, there are many problems because the
item needed to get through the level appears randomly, if you can't find it, you must play again...
