Ok i though we should have a film review topic. Review any film you want and give it a rating out of 10. Good and bad films welcome.
Also please remeber to back up your reasoning, don't just say: "I didn't like this film 0/10" Back up your arguements with facts.

Ok first film:
The Matrix: Reloaded.
Ugh what a film. Again a high expectations film that resulted with me walking out of the cinema feeling let down and kind of miserable for spending my hard earned cash.
The first film in the trilogy left me amazed by the special effects, the story line and the cool characters, such as the agents. The second film let the entire story down by the confused storyline and real lack of a resolution. I know it's a part of the story but still the first film managed to have an ending to it.
The characters seem less cooler than last time, especialy the agents. In the first film we see Morpheous fighting with Agent Smith and getting his butt whooped by one of the best "bad guys" in movie history. This time round Morpheous fights an agent on a moving vehical and beats him. This kind of lets the Agents seem weaker. The plot is incoherent and makes little sense in places like "How does Neo stay in the matrix while not plugged in?" The obvious answer would be "He's the One, Du'h" But this is not an answer! Another plot hole is how Agent Smith returned. I was left confused and scratching my head. The first film was an easy watch and did question reality but this film was made purely for those who will read deeper into it, unlike the majority who wish to be entertained by an action film.
The film has some saving graces such as the special effects which used the excelent bullet time to create fantastic fight scenes and the fight scenes themselves including the brilliant scene with Neo and the many Agent Smiths.
All in all it was a cringe worthy film in areas and a excelent film in other areas, mainly when no one talked. Like many over hyped films i was dissapointed and so The Matrix: Reloaded gets: 5/10 Average

Wohoo! I thought no one would ever start this thread! I like being a critic myself.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl

I really loved this film, but not because of Johnny. Johnny did a wonderful job portraying as the idiotic(lol), rogue pirate Jack Sparrow, and I loved Geoffrey Rush portraying Barbossa. These two amazing actors did a wonderful job. You could really feel the terror in Barbossa's voice. I was excited that Disney even added their own touches to the film. The adventures will keep you on the edge of your seat. This film had a really feel to it, and I think Hollywood was lacking in fun at the movies for a long while. The special effects are oscar-worthy. Goulish skeletons that would frighten you in bed. This is by far one of the greatest Disney-made films. The acting and setting were incredible, but what about the newcomers- Orlando and Keira? Orlando had a thing against pirates...but so far his performance troubled me a little. Keira as the damsel in distress=wonderful. The movie was a little long for me and some of the performance was lacking a little, but it is a ride of a lifetime. I give it 9/10 or 4 stars.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

By: Kitoky

Plot: Well, what plot do you need? Go read the book you lazies! Basically the story is about 4 children who were deported to live with other families/hosts due to World War II. One day, they children come upon a wardrobe in the big mansion which leads to a whole different world [with the exception of a few fur coats]. Soon, they encounter an evil witch that claims herself the QUEEN of the world of Narnia [that's it's name afterall] and the children soon find their destiny to take back Narnia from the White Witch's control. 8/10

Characters/Actors: The personalities and the traits of each character was well developed and the actors [especially the children actors] did wonderfully in their part as the Pevensie children. William Moseley is the new hearthrob among young teenage girls, but it's all harmless -- sorry girls, he has a girlfriend already! The 18 year old actor did an excellent job portraying a big brother that's younger them himself. Peter Pevensie, a 13-14 year old!

Anna Popplewell is no different, just a female form! The 16 year old also had to overcome changes to play a very sensible 12 year old, Susan. The next youngest of the children actors is the young actor Skandar Keynes, 13, at the time of filming portraying an amazingly young 9 year old Edmund, who seems to always have a craving of Turkish Delight.

Now the amazing one of the children actors was Georgie Henley, 10, who was the only one who had absolutely NO prior acting experience, I felt was the best of the four actors. Playing as 8 year old Lucy Pevensie, she did amazing changes of expressions and emotions throughout the movie that was absolutely moving!

There were many excellent voice actors as well who graciously gave their voices up to portray talking animals of the Narnia world. But don't worry, that's normal! The legendary actor Liam Neeson did Aslan good when he first spoke in the form of the Aslan. Tilda Swinton once again lends her talents from the thriller Constantine, as the evil and cunning White Witch. I was greatly impressed by the great acting work of her and thought she portrayed the White Witch excellently. 9/10

CGI/WETA: Now, I really don't have to say much about this -- it's amazing. Weta's amazing! We ARE amazed! The range of creatures created and depicted by Weta looked extraordinary real and to have all these amazing creatures fighting with one another gives us a new sense of realism in the world of Narnia. Aslan himself was entirely CGI and what a great job they did with him! 9/10

OVERALL GRADE: 9/10 --- A +

Where Eagles Dare

First off this film is bound to get at least 5 due to the fact that Clint Eastwood is in it. I love any film with him in as he is the greatest tough guy actor.
The film is set in WW2 and a group of commandos are sent to try and free an american general from a castle, which is deemed inpenitrable.
It gets more and more indulging as the film goes on as the plot slowly reveals itself and the story sends the viewer on a rollacoster ride of suspense and drama. The main characters are always distrusting of each other as word of a spy spreads.
This film is gripping and dramatic. Action scenes are well portrayed and plot is brilliant. Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood work well together as two of the toughest on screen characters ever.
As soon as i saw this film i thought to myself "It's like James Bond with a brilliant storyline."
A great and dramatic war film.
9/10

I Am David

Plot- David has lived in a Communist labor camp for nearly all his life. He is suddenly given freedom and instructions to go to Denmark. He has to learn to survive in a world he knows practically nothing about. At first trusting no one and getting by with his own wits, he gradually begins to open up to people and learn to love.

Characters- Ben Tibber is amazing as David as he makes his way on his journey. Jim Caviezel stars as Johannes, a fellow labor camp prisoner who help David on his journey. Joan Plowright is Sophie, a caring woman who helps David as well.

Conclusion- I Am David is a wonderful movie with beautiful scenery, excellent characters, and a moving conclusion. I highly recommend it. 10/10 stars

This is Spinal Tap

Possibly the funniest film ever made about Rock n Roll. The characters are played brilliantly by the actors (One of the Harry Shearer who does the voice for Homer Simpson).
The story is very simple, it's a spoof documentory following a failing rock band try and release a new album and make it a success. The band members are all idiots and gigs are getting canceled. The band just can't see it's there time to give up but they keep going.
The band members are some of the funniest characters i have ever seen, some of the things that come out of their mouths can be quoted whenever such as when the character Nigel Tufnel plays a really nice piano song that he says takes influence from Bach and Mozart and when asked the name of the song he calls it "Lick my love pump."
Just comedy all the way. A real laugh-out-loud film that many people will enjoy, especialy those who like rock music.
8/10
