Is anyone else on this forum a Cellist? Or should I feel really lonely? Lol....if anyone else is, how many years have you been playing the cello, etc?

I'm in my fourth year, but I'm not going to be taking it this coming semester (though hopefully I'll pick it up again at the start of the new school year), because I'm going to concentrate on learing music theory. I have a lot of trouble reading notes. I can't play a song until I've heard it at least once...and even then I need to play it a bunch of times before I do it without error.

Today in chorus at school, we practiced Vivaldi's Gloria, which we're singing on Monday in concert. We had a cellist playing for us, and it was really nice! I loved the resonating sound of the low notes.

I bet cello is a difficult instrument. It's got a fabulous sound.

Break of Reality - Another cello rock band similar to Apocalyptica (but with less covers haha)

Cellos are awesome. I wish i could play one, but instead i use the cello sound on my keyboard. It actually sounds pretty real but you can still tell its synthetic.

Lol, I wouldn't know if the Cello's a difficult instrument or not.....I've never played another one, so I have nothing to compare it to.

I don't think it's that much harder than a Violin, Viola, or Contrabass would be, though...even though it does sound way cooler.
