I can truly say his character was perfect! Exactly the Edmund I imagined.

Susan
Oh dear, where to begin...
Some of my problems with Susans character in the movie-
-her age
I swear she looked 14, maybe 15, and she's what? 12 or 13 in the books. Oh well, that would be the film makers fault.
And I don't remember her always wanting to go home, it kind of annoyed me. And the fact that she acted smart was not all that great either. I don't remember that from the books.

Oooh, I'm glad you liked Ed as much as I did! :)

Yes, I'm also glad to see someone agree with the complaint of Susan's "I want to go home" attitude. ;) You're right: It was NOT from the books! If they were going to make Prince Caspian realistic, the second they return to Narnia Susan would say "Back here again?? This is not my day..."

I thought she was an amazing white witch. Very creepy. I did not like her dress, though. It was like she was wearing a cloth covered box.

Lol, very true! :D But it did keep her warm though!

ahh ok. But black hair would have been a more powerful element against all that white, plus more true to the story. Had she had her hair like in the battle throughout the whole film (I really liked what they had done there) I wouldn't have complained that much though, but those dreadlocks in all those weird hairdos made her look ridiculous.

I thought her hair made her looh down right creepy! She needs some good shampoo.

I'd really hate to have my hair all frizzy everywhere when it's that cold out, lol.

Don't you hate that.

I'd have to agree with Eru for the hair factor. :) But I've already explained myself, so I won't again.

Throughout the entire movie, I kept thinking of you guys, because the witch kept reminding me of Larael's banner. :P And you guys are right. She would've had a much better effect on the movie had she had black hair. I did like her though. She seemed exactly like the White Witch I had imagined, especially when she turned that poor fox to stone.

Peter too bossy in the movies? Hmm, I can't see him like that, only because I keep remembering how much Edmund disliked him in the book. I think it's the same behaviour.

I saw the movie again so I have a couple complaints now. Most if it isn't crucial stuff but it bothered me.

~Peter has his second encounter with Maugrim, while Susan and Lucy are up in the tree. Susan says "Peter! Watch out!". That has got to be the most pointless line I've ever heard; all she did was distract him.

~That whole scene when they're crossing the melting ice irked me for many reasons:

a) Why are they crossing it in the first place if the wolves could climb around it??
b) Susan is supposed to be smart, but stalling isn't smart. Run across as fast as you can! What use is it to have the beaver whacking his tail on it first?
c) When they go under water on their little ice raft and then they rise out of the water with Peter holding onto his sword. It was cheesy.
d) Susan going "What have you done?" to Peter. That just bugged me for some reason.

Yeah, I didn't find Susan that bossy in the books. Maybe the people wanted to give her a different personality that would stick out?

Again, I'm biased on the Susan role --- She reminded me of myself, so, I can't hate myself! :p

I found Susan irrating at times, but alas she did remind me of myself as well. Always thinking logically...

But question though --- I know you guys thought Susan was extremely bossy but what about Peter? I felt he wasn't exactly big brother all the time as well, he had his bossy moments.

Yes he irritated me more then Susan; he took the brave and noble role a little too far :annoyed:

I loved the White Witch! I thought she was magnificent the second time seeing it :D I would have liked black hair, but it doesn't really matter. The only dress that bugged me was the one she wore in her castle. I thought the rest were fine, even if they were a bit boxy.

Was I the only one that thought her castle was very Minas Morgul-esque?

Yes, it DID seem Minas Morgul-y ----- that greenish glow! They should've made it have a blue glow.

Those two go in conjunction, no? Why risk going across unstable --- melting ice when that wouldn't stop the wolves from going after them? I mean, Susan was logical -- I wouldn't say she's smart, but she's logical.

Mr. Beaver --- He said he'd go first to make sure it was stable enough, but then --- gee beaver = human, there sure is a big weight difference.

Was the ice thing in the book?

Wow, Beri. lol --- Don't go see King Kong. Please. loll

Uh, yeah. That line is........just not right. But then, they've taken liberties with Susan and Peter's characters. =/

Now I come to think of it, Susan was a lot more bossy than I imagined her... especially when she was trying to stop them all from following the beaver, that was just plain dumb.

I also didn't like how Peter was reacting to Maugrim the second time around--get on with it and stab him already! I was glad Aslan was there to say "Leave it, this is Peter's battle"--good one, Aslan :P

PS: Guess what I bought today?

A Chronicles of Narnia mug!

It's got a nice big picture of Aslan on it!

Exactly!

Btw, I love the White Witch she's one of my favourite characters. If I could have played her in the movie it would've been awesome!

Btw, I don't remember reading that the White Witch's hair was black in the book. Was it really? I think I like the blonde hair better due to the fact that it seems to go better with the whole "White" Witch thing.

It never really said that the White Witch/Jadis have black hair --- it's just that the illustrations in the books have always had her with dark hair.

Beri, I agree about all your statements of Susan.

And especially this line "Just because someone hands you a sword doesn't make you a hero!"
As my friend stated it: a Disney line. The word hero isn't even mentioned in the book! Peter isn't supposed to think of himself as a hero at all...ugh, the book had such a different mood to the children.

Oh, and Kit: the ice scene was not in the book. Thankfully.

Oooh. My book doesn't have any illustrations, and actually the only one I've seen of her she did have blonde/white hair. Oh well...

^That's so weird...I could've sworn the book described her with dark hair. Amazing how illustrations dictate your mind like that...and I don't even like them!
