My sister and my mom watched Bride & Prejudice, and didn't really like it. I don't think I've seen any of those sequels or retellings...

Yeah, Bride & Prejudice wasn't really to my liking - too many song and dance numbers!

I've heard that there's another BBC miniseries of P&P that came out before the Firth/Ehle one that's supposed to be good - anyone know about it?

I haven't seen any P&P sequels or anything - I did want to see Bride and Prejudice but never got round to it...

Wasn't that other BBC miniseries really old, or have i got my TV shows confused??

Sure! *adds Pearl to list*

The other miniseries came out in 1980 - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078672/ . Now I want to see it! :)

I'd like to join! I loved the 2005 version, but I've never seen the BBC version! (I know, shocking. lol) I liked the book too!

Sure! *adds Elenya to member list*

I don't think any P&P sequels have actually been filmed, but there have been several written. I haven't read any of them, I'm afraid - I've just seen/read a lot of based-on-the-storyline-of-P&P-stuff. Some of the ones I've heard of are "Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife" (supposed to be rather...um...R-rated), and the Mr. and Mrs. Darcy mysteries.

YAY!! a P&P club! Can I please join? I adore the books and the BBC miniseries (the '05 film was ok but...go Colin-Darcy! :P)
I read a really good sequal to P&P which wasn't R rated lol. It was even approved and supported by the Jane Austen society. It's called "A Private Performance" by Helen Halstead and is written in the same style and humour of P&P.

I also think Bride and Prejudice was kinda no-to-my-taste. I think Bend it Like Beckham was better.
I haven't watched the older P&P, but the new one was pretty good

thanks for adding me! The sequal is basically about Elizabeth going into society, making powerful friends. Mr Darcy getting annoyed at this. Also there's bits of Jane and Bingly, Kitty, Georgiana Lydia etc. Sorry I'm hopeless at summaries (as you can see) but there's a good one here:
http://www.booktopia.com.au/featuredboo ... 0505&db=au
It was only released last year and is by an Australian author so I'm not sure whether it's out anywhere else yet. Although nothings as good as P&P I really enjoyed it as it explores Mr Darcy's and others characters more! :P

:( poor you, I'm sure that it will be published in countries other than Australia soon though as it's a bestseller here!

Add me! Add me! No need to say it, but I'm a miniseries and Colin fan through and through. But first and foremost a book fan :D

Alrighty! :-D *adds* Velcome!

Dunno if anyone else has read Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, but in it, Bridget has this rather hilarious interview with Colin Firth where she keeps steering the conversation back toward the filming of the infamous wet shirt scene. I kept cracking up...
