Oh, Varda, I know what you mean! I cried so much when I saw the Grey Havens for the first time. Even more when I read the book (I read it before I saw the movie) and I was so sad the whole day. It took a few days for me to understand what Tolkien wanted to say with that ending.

Well, that nothing is lasting, that this world is doomed to fade...

Welcome, Eldárwen!
And I'm emotional when the time comes for it. The reason why I cried is because I realized how wonderful that story was, that Tolkien's world was. I wanted ---and still do--- to do something with my love of his works. I matured A LOT that night.

Yes... I suppose LOTR can be a part of growing up... and growing up better, too, especiall with role models like.. *drumroll* ... Sam! To think that the author is gone, now... If he were famous while he was alive, maybe he could have done a bit more to influence the world. But all we have is his book. Of which I am very fond, to say the least!

Added Sam the Brave, and back from a VERY long absence...
What's your favourite Sam scene in the Extended Editions? I love the real Elvish rope bit. *giggles*
