Rowen blushed as the older woman smiled at her. She hadn't meant to appear so enthusiastic. Stiffly, she replied to the third offer of a horse. " If two ride, one must walk, and that would account for slower travel regardless of the horse."

[OOC/ Silm, just making sure you know that's Rowen speaking, not me! I feel almost guilty being so rude! :P /OOC]

(^^ Oh, I know, Nienor! Don't worry)

"But they can still take turns when they are weary," Arinae again insisted with a kind smile. She suddenly laughed. "You're stubborn, Rowen. Reminds me of myself when I was your age not too long ago... the elves had quite a time trying to handle me!" She chuckled again, shaking her head at the memory.

[Good!]

Rowen could not supress a wry smile as the irony of that comment struck her; she turned her head away. Radiel was the stubborn one, not her.

They stopped at twilight. Rowen was exhausted from the long walk, too tired to wait for food. She laid down with her back to the small fire her companions had kindled and drew her blanket over her, but she could not sleep. The hard ground and chilly night air made her wish she'd brought a thicker blanket. As she listened to the hissing and crackling fire, murmers alerted her to the fact that the others were still awake.

Liran and Arinae spoke softly for a while. He plucked some long grasses and braided them into a little rope, then tossed it absently into the fire. The flames danced higher for a minute, until the grass was burned out. He stretched.
"I'll take the first watch tonight" he told Arinae. "Get some sleep if you want."

He pulled his staff over his shoulder, with one end on the ground in front of him, and leaned on it, peering into the night. The moon was rising, and a wolf howled to it in the distance. At least it would make seeing easier..

Arinae nodded but didn't answer. She set off to the side, resting on her back, one knee drawn up as she stared towards the stars. Sleep never came easy to her, but slowly she drifted to a restful sleep.

(So.... do we go on with that 'plan' Sprunk? o.o)

Radiel stayed on the rock, gazing over the fields. Hours passed, but she did not move. A blanket of darkness finally swept over the lands and Radiel decided to turn in. Avoiding the others of the company, she had herself made a bowl with soup and bread. Finishing the meal, she went to the small house where she would be staying the following days. She climbed into a bed next to a window facing the streets of Edoras. She closed her eyes and made many attempts of falling asleep. She opened them again, though, shifting in her bed and trying another position. But no matter how she lay, she always saw the big army whenever she closed her eyes. As the time passed, however, she finally drifted into an uneasy sleep.
A gleam of sunshine made its way into the room and caressed Radiel's face. Jumping into her shoes by the bed, she quickly ran outside to explore the new sightings, and so the day went on. Morning turned to noon, the hours passed and Radiel found herself sitting on the same rock, gazing towards the horizon. She was, however, beginning to recover from the dream, denying the thought that she may have had a glimpse of the future. Her conscious mind soon forgot about the nightmare and she turned to other routines. Airain had promised Radiel to teach her some sword fighting, and so she did. Choosing a sword of lighter weight than Airain’s, she quickly caught up with the moves and worked hard both that day, and the following. That next day, however, at one of the rare times when Radiel was sitting on the same rock, she saw someone coming towards the great Rohirric city. Blinded by the distance, she had trouble picking a number of characters, but a few they were and they had a horse. She jumped down and went over to the stables, not to go anywhere, but simply to greet the horse whom she had so friendly bonded with and tend to her.

Days since Rinkemen received the royal letter: 10

Time: Afternoonish.

Borum came out of the stables muttering something to himself, he almost bumped into Radiel and he cursed. He looked at the her with slight anger, but mostly surprise.

"What`s the rush young lady?"

Radiel was slightly startled as her and Borum almost collided. "Excu-" she started, but was cut off by the dwarf.
"I'm sorry, master dwarf." she said "My eyes and mind were elsewhere than on the path.
I was in no particular hurry, simply on my way to see to the beautiful mare, Eruanna."

Borum shrugged.

"Go on then, I have a meal to attend to"

Borum laughed slightly and left her alone to the stables.

Arinae shielded her eyes from the sun and suddenly let out a cry, pointing forward. "Edoras! We have arrived at last!" She was dismounted from her saddle, all their satchels tied upon Stardance, the horse more easily bearing the weight than they had.

Borum stopped to look at the arrivals muttering something into his beard and then stood there looking at them.

Radiel nodded and continued her way to Eruanna's stall box. She let the white mare get used to her presence by watching her from a few meters distance. Radiel was greeted with a friendly snort, so she dared to approach the great animal further. She let her fingers run through her mane and spoke a few calming words.
"You have seen quite a lot of this world, horse, have you not?" she whispered. "All its good and bad sides." Eruanna nudged Radiel with her head. Radiel smiled. "Yes..." she said. "I am out in it as well."

Rowen followed Arinae's gaze until her eyes caught a gleam of gold. Her heart beat faster and her breath quickened. As much as the prospect of seeing the famed city of Edoras elated her, she could not help but feel apprehensive. Here she hoped to find the answers to all her questions, but what if Radiel was not in the city? Any number of things might have happened to her. Or perhaps she had gone around the city, or past...
Rowen forced these thoughts out of her mind and turned her troubled face to the landscape ahead. She had read much of the history of Rohan in the city archives, and had always been captivated by the rich imagery describing the beautiful capitol city. Her father had instilled in her a love of history at a young age. She remembered sitting on his lap, listening to stories of the kings of Rohan and Eomer's involvement in the War of the Ring. She could only hope that her own journey would be as rewarding as those of travelers before her. Giving a small shiver, she gathered up her courage and prepared to enter the city.

They came closer, each silently dwelling on their own thoughts. Liran looked with wonder at the city on its tall hill, with its golden hall and green flags. Here it was, at last.. and truly a beautiful sight. After seeing Minas Tirith and Edoras, he was filled with a longing to go see all the other marvelous places the world surely held.

He looked at his companions.

"So now, we go in and ask if anyone's seen a girl of Radiel's description?" He paused. If it came to the worst, they should at least be able to find rest there for a few days. Horses too, maybe. But no need to voice any discouraging thoughts. Not now, when they'd only just arrived.
