"Yes, Rinkemen. Why?" Airain asked, quizzically. Rinkemen seemed rather eager to find Radiel.

He strode over to her and looked around.
"We need to get moving. Eomer is leaving for Minas Tirth this afternoon. I plan to go with him."
He glanced around at the empty hall.
"Well? Where is she?"

"How would I know? I'm not her keeper." Airain said, rolling her eyes.
"However, she did run off with Rowen, they went outside." Airain said, even though she knew where Rowen had went.
"It's good we're finally leaving for Minas Tirith, I'm probably going to join you on your journey back." Airain said.

Rinkemen looked at her.
"Your joining us? Why? I thought you didn't care for the strife of humans."
He began walking out.

Like lightning, Airain pulled out one of the Elven knives and held it to Rinkemen's back to stop him from leaving.
"Don't mistake my loyalty for Middle-earth, ever again. I've been through more battles then you've ever had the privilege to even see. Why would I be here if I didn't care?" The words fell out of Airain's mouth so fast it was a wonder Rinkemen even heard her.

Rinkemen turned to look at her and the knife. He shook his head.
"And pulling a knife on a former soldier of Gondor and old man shows your loyalty? You here because you have nothing better to do."

"You pull out the 'old man' card now? I thought you were too tough to admit that you're actually aging." Airain smirked at him as she removed the blade and sheathed it.
"Perhaps you're right, it's been well over a thousand years since I first came to Middle-earth; maybe I am bored. But you still have to realize the simple truth, what would I possibly do if Middle-earth was overrun by evil creatures? I'd really have nothing to do then." Airain said, sarcastically as she stared face to face with Rinkemen.

Rinkemen frowned.
"I know i'm old. I'm happy to admit it and I would still beat you in combat any time."
He looked up and down in slight disgust and turned away. Just before he was about to walk he turned back again.
"Oh and another thing, stay away from Radiel, she's my student."

"I'd like to see you try, oh great Rinkemen, and you aren't my master and you aren't Radiel's master either. If she wishes to learn from someone better skilled then she may do so, so don't try to make her steer clear of the 'Big Bad Airain'" Airain said, noticing how Rinkemen looked at her.
"By the way, if you so loathe the appearance of me, usually you're supposed to try not looking me up and down." She said, holding her gaze on his eyes.

Rinkemen became suddenly enraged. He strode up to her quickly so he was close to her face.
"Don't you ever say I am subordinate teacher to you! Just because I don't teach young girls to kill does not mean I am a bad teacher!"
He starred her down.
"I wish Radiel had never met you. I thought elves were good people, obviously I have met the exception."
He snarled at her.

"No, what you don't understand is that I am teaching Radiel what she, for one, has always wanted to learn, and for two I am teaching her something much more important. I'm teaching her how to protect herself, if that means killing, then so be it. She'll be alive in the long run at least!" She said as she shoved Rinkemen backwards, so that he wasn't so close to her.
"Think what you wish about me, but don't take it out on Radiel. If I'm such a waste of your time, why are you still standing here? Leave me." Airain said a bit more calmly with a wave of her hand.

Rinkemen glared at her.
"Gladly. Radiel deserves a good role model, not a bloodthirsty elf."
He turned and walked outside. He shut the great doors behind him and sat on a step. He felt mentaly exhausted, from the reading and long days. The arguement had not helped. He rested his head in his hands and sighed.
"I need rest...."

Liran stopped when Arinae leaned against the wall and they talked for a few minutes. He felt sorry that they would have to part, for she'd been a good companion, ready to help whenever it was needed and quite friendly all along. But they each had their own path to follow, and part they must..
He was about to thank her and wish her a good journey, when he noticed Rowen, coming down the hill from the Hall, walking rather fast, with Radiel following close beside her. He tensed slightly.
"Hmm.. Arinae, here she comes again.." He nodded up the street in her direction.

Arinae stood straighter, letting her arms drop to her side, her expression tense for a moment, then relaxed with a gentle smile as she mastered herself. "Aye, indeed, seems she brings her friend along... she should be well pleased now," she murmured, her tone accompanied by an almost humored chuckle. She elbowed the young man, with a slight teasing grin upon her face. "Now's your chance to run..."

She chuckled to herself. Even though she was older than they, she found it a pleasant relief to be around those closer to her personality than the elves had been. The Elves had been superior, even if they had put up with her stubborn behavior and flaming temper when she was younger and treated her as their own.

Liran winced slightly as Arinae elbowed him. Run? Was she really reading his thoughts or did it only seem that way? He looked at her sideways, shook his head and chuckled.
"I think not. Look.. she seems to have seen us." Rowen was indeed walking, as it seemed, staight toward them. Running would be no good any more. There wasn't much to be done, other than wait and see what would happen. So he settled to do exactly that.
"You know," he added teasingly, with a grin, "Chances she just wants to yell at me about something. You go ahead and disappear, if you want to."

"Me? Nah, I'd rather stay to enjoy the show," Arinae responded with a slight smirk.
"Besides" she added in a more serious tone, "She might even have half a mind to apologize or thank us, and I'm not one to miss that."
She smiled slightly, brushing a few stray strands of her redish gold hair from her weather darkened features to better watch as the two young girls approached.
