Meanwhile Arinae had meandered off to seek a few things of her own. As she peered around the hall, her eyes caught sight of a familiar face, too distantly so to be someone she had met recently, but she knew the face was one she had seen when she was younger. "Thren? Thren! That is you, isn't it! Aha! I knew it!" She exlaimed as she rushed forward, stopping short of taking the young Rohirrim man into a friendly embrace. Several strange looks were cast their way, as the greeting was called out in smooth Rohirric, but Arinae lowered her voice, as did the other man of Rohan.

"Wha? Arinae! So you finally come home for a visit after all those years? Good to see you once more, but not for long I'm afraid. I will have to be heading off soon to accompany our King on a small trip," Thren replied, a wide grin upon his face upon seeing his old friend. They had been childhood friends when they were much younger, and when Arinae had returned from the elves, they had even trained together.

"Ah, so you're an escort? Judging by what you're wearing I would say my guess is proven correct." Arinae smirked slightly and stepped closer, "Mind letting me in on what's going on?"

"Ah, wish I could, Arinae, but it's to be kept quiet," Thren replied, his features no longer relaxed as he seemed to tense slightly, glancing towards the company around them. "I think it's best you don't start asking around either," he advised firmly.

"You know I don't take advice very well, Thren," Arinae stepped back again, smirking slightly as she drew her sword and gave it a few warm-up whirls. "What say you to a... small deal? Like in the old days? Winner take all.." She challenged, a full smirk upon her face.

"Arinae, I ca-"

"You're not chicken are you? Nah, not Thren the Bold, at least not in our foolish days..." she gave a light grin, angling the blade towards him. "Unless you've gone soft since I've been away doing useful things?"

"Now you know I'm not obligated to reveal-" Thren sighed and paused, looking towards Arinae's ready stance then he finally laughed. "Alright then, but I shall suceed against you this time. I've been practicing," he warned as he unsheathed his own Rohirrim blade.

Soon the sound of parrying blades sounded through the hall, the duelers' faces concentrated, but still a merry spark lit in their eyes as old memories were recalled and the remembrance of blades before that clanged the same tone. Arinae laughed lightly as she stepped back from one forcible blow. "Seems you have been practicing!" "You know me, never a dull moment," Thren replied with a momentary grin before delving into the attack again.

Both blades sung a song of friendly battle, the ring of steel against steel echoing through the hall clearly, and a small gathering of spectators had come to observe the duel, both blades being parried with excellent skill.

"Er...I haven't actually asked them yet, sir," Rowen replied. Even as she finished, the sound of clashing swords rent the air. Turning, she saw Arinae parrying with one of the Rohirrim. Excusing herself, she walked towards the fight, hoping for a chance to speak with Arinae.

Liran was concentrating on making out the conversation that was being held around the table, without much success. When the clash of steel suddenly rang through the Hall he started, and quickly located the two people fighting. One of them was Arinae! Hoping she hadn't gotten herself in trouble, and drawn by the fight, he left his inconspicuous spot to better see the two contestants.

Amoniel leaped up as she heard the sound of the fight. She pushed her way through the crowd to see a better look. She bumped into a man.
"Excuse me." She said, she recognized him as the man named Liran.

Rinkemen glanced over at the fencing in progress a and smiled.
"Good, getting some practice in."

Radiel smirked as she looked at the crowd of people, one growing slowly, as they were were watching the fencing couple with interest. She pondered the options of her going after her friend, but decided otherwise. She stayed, for once, where she should be.

OOC: and yet another short post... Sorry, guys, Mire's a busy girl at the moment. We'll move on soon./OOC

Finally the duel ended with Arinae holding a disarmed Thren to the ground with a grin, her blade held just near his throat. "obviously you haven't practiced nearly enough to beat me yet..." she taunted, chuckling. Sheathing her blade, Arinae rolled away, laughing as she came to her feet and reached down to assist Thren to his own feet.

"Yes, but I'll be willing to wager I can still beat you in spear..." He replied, accepting her hand and standing steadily while brushing himself off. "Now I suppose I must share at least a bit of news with you..." he murmured in a lower tone, as he grasped Arinae's arm and pulled her aside from the gathered crowd.

Arinae furrowed her brows slightly at his serious expression. "What is it, my friend? Surely the news cannot be so bad as to cause you to seem so solemn... from what was told to me, it is merely a feast which our King has been invited to..."

"I'm afraid it is more serious than that..." Thren replied, shaking his head slightly. "A threat of sorts, but that is all I can tell you... but please, please do not spread such news, for I would not wish it to escape on my account and cause a panic"

Arinae nodded firmly her understanding. "Hopefully it is nothing far too serious... thank you, Thren, and I shall be cautious with such words being spoken. Now, I believe I shall make arrangements for travel, and perhaps I shall see you soon, Thren, but if not, I wish you a safe journey" She smiled and bowed slightly, the bow returned by Thren as she turned to step aside, glancing around in search of a familiar face.

Amoniel walked over to Arinae. She smiled.
"That was a nice duel." She said.

Arinae nodded slightly to the stranger, a little surprised to see her adoptive kin in the Halls of Edoras. "Hannon le... just a little practice among old friends." A smile spreads across her features as she lowers into a slight bow.

(Bump)

Rinkemen rose to his feet after he finished his meal and walked over to Radiel.
"We leave as soon as we can. I'm going to finish my packing. Feel free to ask anyone of use to come along but don't leave this hall."
He let a small smile devolp on his wrinkeled old face.
"What will your mother say, honestly."
He walked out of the hall straight to his quaters to finish packing the books he had found for referancing with the libary in Minas Tirith.

Radiel nipped to a small portion of bread before getting up, letting her deep green eyes wander around the great Hall of Rohan. She tilted her head slightly. This was indeed not how she had thought it would turn out, ending like this. She now, however, realized that she had to give in. Being stubborn would not work this time, she knew this. She strode to where the crowd of people had gathered, obviously looking for a familiar face -- Rowen mostly. She glanced at the huge hall gate then, feeling greatly tempted to just slip out and explore more of the world. She kept her eyes focued on the gate for several moments, with a thoughtful and distant gaze.

Rowen interrupted Radiel's reverie with a wave of her hand.
"Radiel, do you see Alyan anywhere? I'd hoped to ask if he wished to accompany us, but that's rather difficult when I can't find him." She seated herself on a nearby bench and bit into an apple.
"There's been something I've been meaning to ask you...when you have a bit of time to talk."

"Hello ladies." Amoniel smiled at Radiel and Rowen. She stopped and propped her hands on her bony waist.

Rowen nodded politely to Amoniel. "We were just about to look for a friend. If you wish to accompany us, you may of course."

Radiel glimpsed slightly as she was torn away from her deep and distant thoughts. She forcedfully listened to Rowen as she spoke, while casting a side long glance at Amoniel when she joined the two. Turning to Rowen once again, she apologetically shook her had.
"I have not seen him since.." she trailed off briefly, pondering her words, "Not since we left with Rinkemen." Pausing then, allowing herself to agree with Rowen concerning Amoniel, Radiel stepped closer to Rowen. Mumbling, inaudibly to others but herself and her friend, she responded again.
"I doubt we have much time to talk now, Rinkemen will be back in a moment, and we will be off again, off for home. We can talk when chance shows."

Having been left to herself, Arinae furrowed her brows slightly, her mind on the news which had been given her by Thren. Her glanced roamed in search of either Liran, Rowen, or Radiel. She wasn't too fond of the idea of striking up a conversation with Rinkemen just yet, seeing as how he was not too fond of sharing information or even speaking about it. Noticing one figure who had been lingering to observe the sparring, she stepped over swiftly, though avoiding agily a woman carrying a basin of fruit. Her step was light, her composure rejuvenated by the brief swordplay.

"Alyan! There you are..." Before continuing, she stepped closer and lowered her voice slightly. "I know I am to keep silent on this, and I must ask that you keep silent as well, yet I did not wish to leave you in the dark... That was a previous companion of mine who is travelling with King Eomer... there seems to be some sort of... threat abroad. I do not know details, but I know it is not merely a casual dinner between the two Kings..."
