Yeah. And, if I'm correct, you don't pronounce the "T". That is quite cool.

Ah Les Mis. I hate the student abridged version. Whoever edited that should be taken out and flogged. They left out half of the important characters and points of the story. Made me a little mad.

I just started this book a couple days ago and love it so far. I've never seen the play though- I would love to sometime.

I've watched a play of it (in french...), I've read the novel (in french...) and I've seen a version of "les Misérables" in french ... it's a really sad and touching story and I really like it!

Movie: Love it! It's great....
Musical: Awesome.... I saw it the end of March. I'm so sad it's going... it will come back someday, just like Cats.
Book: Still have to borrow it from friends.

Same here!!! I absolutely love the soundtrack; I'm listening to it now!!! *sings* At the end of the day you're another day older, and that's all you can say for the life of the poor...." I've had a strong fetish for it lately, and I've been listening to it nonstop. I haven't read the book or seen the play either. I'm so jealous of my friend, cuz she's going to see the Broadway revival this February!!!! She got tickets before I even knew about the revival!!! Oh well, tis far too late now to even attempt to get tickets for the revival.
I really wish that my high school would do Les Mis as our play next year. Normally I can't do school plays, cuz all of my choir rehearsals conflict w/ the play rehearsals. But if we were gonna do Les Mis, I'd definitely drop choir to do it (depending on which part I'd get)!! Of course everyone would be mad at me after quitting after 7 years straight of being in it, and 2 years before my last elligible year... oh well, I'd totally quit to be in Les Mis. I want to be in it sometime before I die!!! I want to play Fantine most of all, then if not Fantine, then Eponine, and if not Eponine, then Cosette. They all have good songs, but I think I'd be most suited to play Fantine for some reason.

I would love to play Eponine. Sadly, our school isn't doing it this year. Grr. I was just listening to the songs again. My favorite is probably "One Day More". I love all the layers of it.

I keep meaning to buy the soundtrack... I've read the book, and I loved it. I really want to see the play, but haven't had a chance yet. It hasn't come to where I live for a long time.

I saw this play Saturday and am absolutely in love!! My favorite character is probably Jean but Eponine is very high up there. I can relate to her so...
One of my friends has the soundtrack, but sadly, I do not, and must be content with reading lyrics over and over. My favorite songs are 'One Day More', 'Can You Hear the People Sing?', 'At the End of the Day', and 'A Little Fall of Rain.'
Anyway, I am absolutely insanely obsessed!! Who's with me?

Fwee - an awesome site with complete lyrics! (If I already posted this somewhere, then don't mind me, I've been slightly crazy of late.)

Ah yes, stlyrics. Very good site. I pretty much love all of the songs -except Castle on a Cloud. That one just annoys me. But Empty Chairs at Empty Tables...I so almost cried in the play. And all of Eponine's songs because I can totally relate.
Speaking of Eponine, where'd you get those pictures of her in your sig RA?

I searched 'les miserables' on Google Images. Yeah, Castle on a Cloud isn't one of my favorites either, but I suppose I'm a bit prejudiced against Cosette. The first Les Mis thing I ever saw was a video of 'Little Fall of Rain' on YouTube, where I was informed by a friend that the girl loved the guy but he was in love with someone else, and that she had gotten shot and was dying. It didn't exactly encourage instant affection for the 'other girl.' (Though I'm learning to appreciate her & Marius' love.)
Even after I saw the show, I still relate to Eponine the most. Unrequited love is just so heartbreaking and yet...so...relevant, I guess. And it seems much more likely to happen than love-at-first-sight.

Yeah, I was never a fan of Cosette either. She's just...there. She does nothing. All she is is Marius's love interest and Valjean's reason to keep going. But I never really saw the point of her. I guess she's important because she ties all these random people together, but I would think she'd get a bigger part then. *shrugs* Maybe it's just me, I dunno, but she never seems to be an actual PART in the show.

EXACTLY! She was really only defined by her relationship with other people. I mean...okay, she's rich and pretty, and used to be poor and pretty. Why else do Marius and Valjean love her so much?
Eponine, on the other hand, has more traits. She isn't book smart, but she is street smart. She's generally ignored or left out, whether it comes to Marius or her father's gang. She's kind and puts others before herself, shown by her agreeing to unite Marius and Cosette.
