In the books Hama wants Éowyn to stay as 'queen' in Edoras while all others ride to Helm's Deep. In the movie Theoden wants Éowyn to stay in Edoras while all others ride to Minas Tirith.

Theoden first thought that Hama meant Éomer to stay back and was completely confused when it turned out that he meant Éowyn! _________________ <center>

I remember that. They said: "We want a ruler from the house of Eorl." Theoden then replies: "But me and Eomer are going off to battle! Who could you possibly be referring to?" And everyone else says: Eowyn, duh!!
I think everyone really loved her and Eomer as their own kin. They were from a respected line and were trusted. As Merry says in RotK: "There are many who love you [Eowyn]." However, none of them really knew her, and what was mistaken for love was more than often truly pity.  _________________ <center> all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us

yeah, you're right.
I really like the scene when they arrive at Helm's Deep (as I've said before ) cause it shows the people's love for Eowyn. The one with the old lady, you know...

One of the cool things I found about Eowyn is that her family will be high up in line to inherit the throne if anything would happen to the rulers of either country. She is the brother of the King of Rohan; Faramir is the Steward of Gondor. Well, Eomwr would have ruled, but Eowyn's children would be the heirs.

what I meant was that if eomer hadn't married eowyn would ahve ruled when he died...

^Yes they did. All Tolkein mentioned was their firstborn Son, whose name escapes me, but I imagine they had more children after that.
