...I know that, yet bringing their story into the movie, was quite radical..but personally...I liked the twist

yep it would've been awfully stupid if they wouldn't have put it in the movies, aragorn would've been a much boring character!

well, in your opinion, but what i meant was his character wouldve been like more shallow, but now its much deeper when he showed his ability to love! we wouldn't have known what got on inside him, only outside! but again, its just my opinion...

..personal opinions are what make this forum work..!
..I think you are correct in your assumption, Aragorn had more facets added to his character, with the addition of his love story with Arwen...
..and it helped round of the movie RotK..

Well I, like so many others, said some things are the same and some are different. I know that they had to cut out some parts, but I think some parts they did cut out should have been switched. The movie is awesome don't get me wrong, but I still stand my ground on this point.

yeah like in ttt there was this 'shortcut' where aragorn fell over the cliff, it didn't even happen in the book! and Tom Bombadil was a major character, in my opinion, he should've been in fotr!!!

I think it's a shame they had to cut out parts, but then again, not many peoply would like to spent 4 hours in a cinema for just 1 movie. And there are 3 parts already so I can understand why they did it.
I read FotR before I saw the movies, but I hadn't found ttt and RoK before I saw those movies, when I finally read ttt I was like: When does Aragorn fall of the cliff and why don't the Elves arrive at Helms Deep just before battle? (I'm happy that doesn't happen in the book, cause all of the Elves die in the movies including Haldir those trees are a much cooler way to get rid of those orcs/uruks than getting a bunch of elves killed ^^)

yeah me too when I read ttt I wondered when Aragorn would fall...i think it gives a good twitch in it you know that he fell, and then he makes this awesome 'comeback'. but sadly it isnt in the book...

i say its 50/50 there are some differences but its pretty similar if you want to be really picky then its totally different but i think that Peter Jackson had to make some imprevisions to keep the non-LOTR extremest overly bored... such as he shortend the whole Saruman stroyline that sort of thing

Some things are different, completely different like the elven warriors (which I thought was pretty cool) and the death of Haldir ( ) and of course the idea Aragorn was fallen from the cliff.
I didn't like some changings, but I always have the book to read
