Sure it will work as a drawstring though?

Umm... Drawstrings tighten, right? That was the whole point of my other post. *Hug*

No problem! I hope it works the way you want it to! (Bias tape can be a bit tricky sometimes, at least for me)

It's cheap, and you can buy it pretty much anywhere fabric is sold. (Even Walmart.)

Even better, does anyone even know what a 40's Swing Dance looks like? *Desperate need*

The pattern you showed in your post is very pretty. But it's more of a lady 50's dress, I did some research and found this pattern page maybe you can start from here?
I think. http://www.sensibility.com/vintageimages/1940s/

Thank you sooooooo much!! *Hug* The reason I'm so frantic is because in a week there's a surprise birthday party that I'm going to, and I need a 40's Swing Dance dress, and I had no idea what they looked like. **Phew** Again, thank you so much! (I'm going to have to buy a dress from the store though, since I'm still making my Scottish costume, and I'm starting my Civil War ball gown this week, so those pictures really help!!)

Ok, sure!
Type in "40's swing dress" in google maybe you'll find something!
Remeber though, when you look for something, little waist, so keep the dress tight at the waist or add something like a stylish belt. Also there was gennerally, at least later in the 40's some type of collar, and generally not the small one's on dress shirts, sort of like the big one's that were common and stylish in the 50's, but not always, so dont keep that on your £must" list. Oh, and skirts generally 99% of the time, especially for ladies were worn under the knee, none of the mini dress stuff.
Glad I could help!
